    Financial Controller

    Job Purpose

    • The Financial Controller will play a crucial role in steering the financial operations of the company. This will involve managing accounting functions, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements. The role calls for a dedicated, meticulous, and analytical professional who will deliver accurate financial reporting and provide strategic financial insight to management.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Oversee the general ledger and ensure the timely preparation of monthly financial reports.
    • Provide financial and analytical support to management, including monitoring operational and sales metrics.
    • Monitor the allocated budget and manage funds efficiently.
    • Collaborate with external partners, including auditors and tax advisors, and maintain relationships with suppliers.
    • Manage all tax and statutory filings, ensuring they are submitted on time.
    • Uphold quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
    • Develop and reinforce business processes and accounting policies for robust internal controls.
    • Supervise financial contract compliance and facilitate timely renewals.

    Qualifications and Requirements:

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field from a recognized university.
    • Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, or their equivalent.
    • Minimum 7 years of experience in a financial role within an audit or corporate firm, managing general ledger, VAT, and statutory filings.
    • Proficiency in Accounting Packages, spreadsheets, databases, and MS Office.
    • Strong analytical skills coupled with excellent presentation and communication abilities.
    • Proven track record of managing cash flow, accounts receivable, and payable.
    • Comprehensive knowledge and experience with local accounting and compliance regulations.

    Renewable Energy Business Development Project Manager

    Job Purpose

    • The Renewable Energy Business Development Project Manager will be at the forefront of driving the adoption of renewable power by Kenyan corporates, providing fully financed solar power and other renewable solutions with no upfront cost. The role entails spearheading project management and technical expertise in solar and battery sites, ensuring a sustainable growth trajectory in Africa’s renewable energy sector.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in the renewable energy sector, specifically solar and battery power generation and C&I clients.
    • Managing the end-to-end execution of renewable energy projects until the start of construction.
    • Providing technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle, assessing feasibility, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
    • Overseeing contract negotiations with clients and stakeholders, focusing on risk mitigation.
    • Conducting financial analysis, modeling, and securing project financing in collaboration with the finance team.
    • Ensuring projects comply with Kenyan regulatory frameworks, including knowledge of wheeling agreements.
    • Engaging with clients, government agencies, and industry associates to establish partnerships and promote the brand.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, or a related field, with preference for advanced degrees or certifications in renewable energy or project management.
    • A minimum of 8 years relevant experience, including 2 years in project management within the renewable energy sector.
    • Demonstrated success in driving renewable energy projects and developing client relationships, particularly in the C&I segment.
    • In-depth knowledge of the Kenyan energy market, regulatory frameworks, and policies.
    • Expertise in technical aspects of renewable energy projects and familiarity with EPC and PPA contracts.
    • Financial analysis skills including project financing and financial modeling are advantageous.
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
    • A valid driver’s license and the willingness to travel as required.

    • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
