    Lecturers Nursing - Two (2) Positions

    Requirements for appointment to this position:

    • Must be a committed Christian
    • Master of Science in Nursing (MScN) from a recognized University in any of the following: Pediatretic Nursing and Medical Surgical Nursing, with at least 3 years of full time teaching experience at University level or in research or industry after obtaining Master’s Degree
    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognized University.
    • Possess a valid practice license from the Nursing Council of Kenya
    • At least two (2) publications in refereed journals or one (1) book or two (2) book chapters in relevant areas and
    • Show evidence of attendance and contribution at learned conferences, seminars or workshops.
    • Be an active member of the Nursing Council of Kenya in good standing.

    Lecturer Kiswahili

    Requirements for appointment:

     To be eligible for appointment, the candidate must have the following:

    • Earned PhD degree or its equivalent in the relevant field from a accredited and recognized University.
    • Have a Master’s and Bachelors degree in the relevant area/field from a recognized academic institution.
    • Have cumulative of 3 years of teaching/training and research experience at University level since becoming Lecturer.
    • Have Research Output Points comprising at least twenty four (24) points from referreed scholarly journals, six (6) points from postgraduate students’ supervision and two (2) points from publications in conference proceeding since appointment to the position of Lecturer.
    • Supervised to completion at least three (3) Postgraduate students as a lecturer or equivalent.
    • Have attended and contributed at learned conferences, seminars or workshops.
    • Show evidence of continued research and evaluated effective teaching & success in student supervision.
    • Show evidence of contribution to University life through active participation in departmental matters, students’ academic advising, School and University meetings committee membership and others.
    • Be recognized and registered by relevant regulatory bodies where applicable.
    • Must show evidence of membership/affiliation of a relevant professional body where applicable.
    • Show evidence of having developed proposals that have attracted funding

    Lecturer Biology

    Requirements for appointment:

    To be eligible for appointment, the candidate must have the following:

    • Earned PhD degree from a recognized/accredited institution. (Biology).
    • Have a Masters and Bachelors degree in the relevant area/field from a recognized academic institution.
    • A minimum of 12 publication points from refereed scholarly journals and 2 points from abstract presented at conferences

    OR

    • from research institution a minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points

    OR

    • from practice/industry a minimum of six (6) publication points.
    • Not more than 2 articles should be in a single issue/volume of a journal/other scholarly publications.
    • Show evidence of evaluated effective teaching.
    • Be recognized and registered by relevant regulatory bodies where applicable.
    • Show evidence of membership/affiliation of a relevant professional body where applicable.

    Legal Officer

    The legal officer shall be in charge of the University legal affairs. He/she shall be the Legal Advisor of the University Management and Council.

    Report to: The Vice-Chancellor

    Requirements for appointment to this position:

    • Be a Christian in good standing
    • Have a Bachelor’s degree in law (LL. B) from a recognized University;
    • Be an advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a current practicing certificate;
    • Have served in the grade of Legal Officer for a period of Four (4) years or in a comparable and relevant position with working experience in conveyancing, labour laws, public procurement law, commercial law, legal drafting and have negotiation skills;
    • Have demonstrable ICT skills;
    • Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya (attach all relevant documents);
    • Have demonstrable professional competence and high administrative ability in work performance and results; and
    • Those with Master’s degree in law (LL.M) shall have an added advantage.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    The Roles include:

    • Provide legal counsel to University Council and Management Board;
    • In consultation with the user departments, negotiate, draft, review all agreements and contracts between the University and other parties and report to the University Management Board;
    • Preparation of legal or quasi-legal documents for the University as may be required from time to time;v
    • Advice the University on compliance with all the relevant statutory and regulatory requirements in its operations;
    • Representing the University in all legal matters
    • Handling cases involving the University in liaison with external lawyers where applicable.
    • Ensure formulated policies and procedures adhere to internal and external regulations;
    • Be a Commissioner of Oaths and Notary Public for the University; and
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the University Management.
