    ICT Intern

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    • As An ICT Intern you will be Providing 1st level support and solutions to day to day technical issues and challenges. Sensitize users on important routines in ICT.

    YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provide on call 1st level technical support to Staff, Faculty and Students as raised in the Ticket management system and related channels used for support requests such as telephone extensions. Unresolved issues to be escalated to supervisor where necessary. Document  technical Problems and Solutions on the knowledgebase system as guided by supervisor
    • Provide on call 1st level support to Faculty and Students on the available academics systems. Unresolved issues to be escalated to supervisor where necessary
    • Setup new user accounts for staff, students and faculty as instructed by the responsible office or supervisor
    • Prepare weekly reports to document status and progress of activities/tasks. Report should also include completed tasks. Set meaningful quarter and yearly objectives as guided by the department objectives.
    • Maintain a positive and professional relationship among affiliate companies to leverage on the synergies available related to professional work
    • Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

    Minimum requirements:
    Education and Experience:

    • Minimum Bachelors in I.T / Computer Science or any other related in that field
    • Certification in CCNA, N+ , A+ or related certificates will be added advantage
    • Extensive knowledge of ICT Industry and current trends

    Project Officer, Youth Social & Economic Empowerment (YSEE) Project

    Job Summary

    • The Project Officer is responsible for implementation, monitoring and reporting of key project activities in close coordination with different stakeholders and service providers in Mombasa.

    Key roles and responsibilities of the Project Officer:

    • In liaison with the Project Coordinator, oversee overall management, monitoring and coordination of project activities.
    • Support peer facilitators to conduct training in Kisauni and Likoni.
    • Document pre- and post-training assessments and develop timely progress and final reports as required.
    • Carry out Monitoring and Evaluation of activities and purpose corrective action required during implementation of the work plan.
    • Develop strategies for strengthening collaborative partnerships and networks with stakeholders, and other players on the ground to ensure implementation of programmes that enhance effectiveness.
    • Ensure proper accounts in accordance with the KRCS regulations and donor requirements.
    • Keep the project activities implementation and reporting on schedule and on track.
    • Maintain necessary communication to facilitate effective coordination for project delivery.
    • Ensure Kenya Red Cross Society’s representation and visibility during the rolling out of the project and throughout its implementation period.
    • Contribute to documentation of the project lessons to enable learning from the action.
    • Support the trained resource KRCS volunteers in the implementation and reporting of the project.
    • Ensure that knowledge acquired by the volunteers is trickled down to other youth in the Branch.
    • Ensure coordination at different levels within the project and externally.
    • Ensure that project plans and budget reflect the actual situation in implementation and suggest adjustments when necessary.

    Minimum Qualifications 

    • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Development Studies, Sociology, Public Administration and Management, Social Sciences or in a related field from a recognized institution, and in-depth knowledge of the current youth development priorities in Kenya.
    • Demonstrated experience in youth development work particularly in Mombasa County (or Coast Region) and implementing projects within the development context.
    • Minimum two years’ experience in project management and youth programming
    • Well-versed with the principles of positive youth development approach to youth programming
    • Demonstrated ability to work closely and effectively with administrative and community structures in development context.
    • Proficient and experienced in planning, monitoring and reporting of project activities in relevant field in multi-stakeholder partnerships and collaborations
    • Possess skills in proposal and report writing, project cycle management and participatory monitoring and evaluation of projects.
    • Demonstrated experience in facilitating workshops/ training for different audiences including youth.

    Key Competencies

    • A good understanding of community work and development programming and effective project management.
    • A good understanding of the local area, culture and language in Coast Region – previous work experience in Mombasa will be an added advantage.
    • Able to coordinate and network with partners to build synergies that enhance sustainability of the project outcomes.
    • Sensitive and responsive to gender, ethnicity, disability and other social issues.
    • Participatory and team approach to work and behaviour.
    • Excellent written and spoken English and Kiswahili.
    • Able to provide timely, well-written and analytical reports to the project team as required.
    • Strong computer skills particularly Microsoft Office and data analysis packages.
    • Self-motivated with a passion for the work and keen to learn as well as share knowledge and new ideas around youth development.

    Country Programmes Officer

    PURPOSE

    • To provide support to the DRC country manager in overseeing the realisation of the Country strategy goals and objectives through ensuring a coordinated, focussed, timely and relevant support to KRCS within all the  DRC supported projects as well as offering the liaison and lead in the engagement between DRCY and DRC Country office.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide support to the DRC country  manager in overseeing the management of the country portfolio ensuring  alignment to the DRC country strategy.
    • Provide support to the DRC Country Manager liaison  and engagement efforts with partners, donors, and other relevant stakeholders.
    • Support DRC Country Manager  with generation of relevant  communication materials from DRC supported field activities  in collaboration with the KRCS Communications and PR.
    • Provide support to the DRC Country Manager in resource mobilization efforts including scouting for, identifying, and reviewing funding opportunities as well as proposal development.
    • Focal person within the DRC Country office in ensuring a regular monitoring of DRC funded projects in collaboration with KRCS Programme Managers.
    • Focal person within the DRC Country Office in facilitating and overseeing partnership administrative tasks including  development, review and amendment of project descriptions and agreements in collaboration with relevant KRCS teams.
    • Focal person within the DRC country office in proactively monitoring  and managing change and programme risks in collaboration with relevant KRCS teams and in  close consultation with the DRC country manager.
    • Focal person within the DRC country office responsible for coordinating preparation of periodic quarterly progress and annual reports to DRC and her back donors.
    • Liaise and collaborate with the DRC Country Finance Officer  to monitor country programme expenditures and ensure programme budgets well managed and  strictly adhered to.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience 

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or related field

    Relevant professional qualification.

    • Working experience at field level with recognized Organization with expertise in youth programs, community resilience building and health programs  or emergencies responses.
    • Experience in implementation of projects in multi stakeholders environment.
    • Sound knowledge and skills in project planning and management.
    • Proven ability to work  across the  project cycle management.
