    Information Security Engineer

    We are looking to recruit an Information Security Engineer responsible for the organizations computer systems, networks and proper evaluation of security issues for hardware or software.

    INFORMATION SECURITY ENGINEER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Planning, implementing, managing, monitoring and upgrading security measures for the protection of the organizations data, systems and networks.
    • Troubleshooting security and network problems.
    • Responding to all system and/or network security breaches.
    • Ensuring that the organization’s data and infrastructure are protected by enabling the appropriate security controls.
    • Participating in the change management process.
    • Testing and identifying network and system vulnerabilities.
    • Daily administrative tasks, reporting and communication with the relevant departments in the organization

    QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE INFORMATION SECURITY ENGINEER JOB

    Area Manager Maintenance

    We are looking to recruit an Area Manager- Maintenance responsible for coordination of teams through planning and managing maintenance works and liaising with contractors in ensuring effective and efficient network restoration and full customer uptime at all time.

    AREA MANAGER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • General maintenance of the fiber network, network nodes and 4G infrastructure in his/her area
    • Manage maintenance teams in the region through allocation of duties, follow up of field teams, review and update assigned trouble tickets, coordinate contractor teams and expedite fault recovery.
    • Proactive management of nodes and access network through stringent routine prevention maintenance of power and air conditioning equipment, inspection and preventive maintenance of both underground and overhead optic fiber network.
    • Liaise with roads authorities (KURA), road contractors, building contractors and other wayleave users (telecommunication, power, water and sewerage) to safeguard the optic fiber backbone and access network from avoidable damage. This includes attending relevant meetings with the various authorities and property managers.
    • Generate regional reports to the Head of Maintenance, make follow up and feedback on daily network and customer reports.
    • Proper maintenance of assigned splicing equipment and tools including routine servicing and repair when necessary.
    • Maintain cross-functional relationships and follow ups for Customer relationship management
    • Coordinate safety measures in the assigned region.

    QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE AREA MANAGER JOB

    • Degree or Higher National Diploma in Electronics, telecommunications or related field.
    • At least five (5) years working experience in a network maintenance/network support role
    • Technical aptitude in electrical and telecommunication infrastructure.
    • Good analytical skills.
    • Good supervisor and coordination skills;
    • Leadership and management skills

    Assistant Splicing Technician

    We are looking to recruit hardworking Splicing Assistants to assist in activities involving splicing fiber optic cables in both outdoor and indoor settings, read, create and maintain splicing schematics and diagrams, maintain control of outside plant activities surrounding the assigned work site(s), taking and maintaining accurate splicing and field notes and support project timelines.

    SPLICING TECHNICIAN RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide ground assistance to technician to fiber splicing to construct a proper splice case, including but not limited to: grounding, bonding, isolation, slack storage and sealing.
    • Assist the splicing technician in performing routine maintenance.
    • Assist in record keeping of the network infrastructure.
    • Liaison with the other technical departments to provide technical support and resolve issues on the network.
    • Maintain site safety by eliminating hazards and or reporting any hazards prior to commencing works.
    • Maintain cleanliness and safety of tools given to the team
    • Any other responsibilities as may be assigned to you from time to time.

    QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE SPLICING TECHNICIAN ROLE

    • Certificate in a Telecom, Electrical Engineering, IT or any related field
    • Minimum D+ at secondary school education with a pass in Maths and English
    • Technical aptitude in electrical and telecommunication infrastructure.
    • Good analytical skills.
    • Experience in a technical role preferred.

    Splicing Technician

    We are looking to recruit a Splicing Technician to splice fiber optic cables in both outdoor and indoor settings, read, create and maintain splicing schematics and diagrams. Maintain control of outside plant activities surrounding the assigned work site(s), taking and maintaining accurate splicing and field notes and support project timelines.

    SPLICING TECHNICIAN RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Fiber splicing to construct a proper splice case, including but not limited to; grounding, bonding, isolation, slack storage and sealing.
    • Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance.
    • Rehabilitate the network including tensioning cables, replacement of manhole covers and cable recovery.
    • Record keeping of the cable network infrastructure.
    • Liaison with the other technical departments to provide technical support and resolve issues on the network.
    • Checking and advising on the environmental issues in the nodes in their areas
    • Maintain site safety by eliminating hazards and/or reporting any hazards prior to commencing works.
    • Carry out onsite survey/scoping for cases requiring network changes and routing and raise them in Nasctech in order to allow RM raise associated PM orders.
    •  Any other responsibilities as may be assigned to you from time to time.

    QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE SPLICING TECHNICIAN ROLE

    • Minimum Diploma in Electronics, telecommunications or related field.
    • Five (5) years working experience in a network maintenance role At least 3 years’ experience working in sales is highly desirable.
    • Technical aptitude in electrical and telecommunication infrastructure.
    • Good analytical skills;
    • Keen to details;
    • Excellent communication
