    Executive Assistant Intern

    Position Summary

    Under the supervision of the Executive Director (ED), the core function of this intern position is to support the Executive Office with various administrative processes essential to day-to-day operations. This is a demanding position requiring someone who can be available at the request of the ED and his schedule.

    • Duration: 6 months
    • Location: Nairobi, Green Belt Movement Headquarters

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Handling administrative requests and queries from senior managers and staff members;
    • Organizing and scheduling meetings and appointments;
    • Planning meetings and taking detailed minutes;
    • Booking travel arrangements;
    • Answering and directing phone calls;
    • Developing and maintaining a filing system;
    • Maintaining contact lists;
    • Submitting and reconciling expense reports;
    • Creating excel spreadsheets and dashboards;
    • Providing general support to visitors; and
    • Any other duties as assigned.

    Skills and Qualifications

    • Degree in Secretariat Studies, Business Management or related qualification;

    Finance Support Intern

    Position Summary

    The Purpose of this position is to provide an opportunity for graduates, especially fresh graduates to obtain a first-hand impression of the day-to-day working environment, learn, develop new skills and gain experience. The core function of this intern position is to support the finance operations department.

    • Duration: 6 months
    • Location: Nairobi, Green Belt Movement Headquarters

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Assist in budgeting, cash flow planning and activities costs management;
    • Assist in procurement and payments processes;
    • Assist in audits and reviews;
    • Support proper filing and retrieval of transaction documentation;
    • Assist in business advance management and reconciliations; and
    • Any other duties as assigned.

    Skills and Qualifications

    • A Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related studies from an accredited university;
    • Graduates, especially fresh graduates who show genuine desire to serve with demonstrated good character, honesty and high competency;

    Program Support Intern

    Position Summary

    The Purpose of this position is to provide an opportunity for graduates, especially fresh graduates to obtain a first-hand impression of the day-to-day working environment, learn, develop new skills and gain experience. The core function of this intern position is to assist in planning, implementation and monitoring of the organization’s projects activities.

    • Duration: 6 months
    • Location: Nairobi, Green Belt Movement Headquarters

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Assist in providing assistance in support of the projects’ planning and implementation activities/processes;
    • Assist in the preparing of Progress Reports including interacting with programme officers to gather data and generating draft reports;
    • Assist in preparing for regular team meetings to monitor projects’ progress from the technical, administrative and financial point of view;
    • Support data entry of project-related information and analyze the status of the project implementation; and
    • Any other duties as assigned.

    Skills and Qualifications

    • A Bachelor’s degree in environment, development or related studies from an accredited university;

    Geographic Information Technologies (GIS) Intern

    Position Summary

    The Purpose of this position is to provide an opportunity for graduates, especially fresh graduates to obtain a first-hand impression of the day-to-day working environment, learn, develop new skills and gain experience. Under the supervision of the Geographic Information Technologies (GIS) Specialist, the core function of this intern position is to assist in planning, implementation and monitoring of the organization’s projects, such as, collecting, summarizing and integrating available data for project sites.

    • Duration: 6 months
    • Location: Nairobi, Green Belt Movement Headquarters

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Assist in organizing and carrying out baseline survey and other related data collection activities in the field;
    • Assist in collecting data from various constituencies, creating metadata, verifying projections, maintaining a consistent naming convention for geospatial data and maintaining the data in an organized directory structure;
    • Assist in maintaining data sets required for the production of information products to support conservation activities:
    • Assist in carrying out data processing, reformatting and spatial analysis to support activities of the various programs;
    • Assist in mapping production and related cartographic support to field and office-based staff to support planning, implementation and monitoring;
    • Assist in preparing and reporting on the various activities carried out by the GIS department as well as provision of project status reports; and
    • Any other duties as assigned.

    Skills and Qualifications

    • A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in GIS, Geography, Earth Science or a related field from an accredited college or university;
    • Graduates, especially fresh graduates who show genuine desire to serve with demonstrated good character, honesty and high competency;
    • High knowledgeable in the design, development, implementation and administration of geographic information systems, including analysis and database development and integration;
    • Knowledge and experience in use of GIS mapping software products;
    • Ability to stay focused, efficient, and effective in managing multiple priorities;
    • Professional demeanor and ability to handle sensitive situations in a calm and professional manner;
    • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment;
    • Proven ability to work independently to achieve accomplishments; and
    • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
