    SaaS Product Manager

    Role Summary
    We are seeking an experienced Product Manager to join our team and drive the development of our platform that empowers consumers worldwide to acquire essential products through accessible and affordable payment plans. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the continued development and scaling of our product lines as we expand our network, gain new partners, and extend solutions to consumers.
    As a Product Manager at Angaza, you will:

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve significant challenges in global development and tackle usability issues inherent in our domain.
    • Make a real difference for millions of people who are not served by traditional banking solutions.
    • Work closely with the Senior Product Manager to define and execute product strategies.
    • Work closely with the Engineering team to design, build and deliver product improvements.

    Responsibilities

    • Product Development: Lead the development of our core platform, APIs, web and Android-based products in collaboration with our designers and engineers.
    • Data-Driven Decision Making: Define and own key performance metrics and OKRs, utilizing data to inform product decisions.
    • Customer Engagement: Gather and prioritize product feedback from customers across Africa, India, Latin America, and other regions.
    • Stakeholder Management: Thoughtfully communicate with and manage expectations of stakeholders to prioritize the team’s work effectively and ensure maximum impact.
    • Release Planning: Develop and represent release plans for upcoming product releases.
    • Process Improvement: Collaborate with engineering leaders on continuous improvement of development and delivery processes.
    • Roadmap Prioritization: Lead key discussions on product roadmap prioritization with internal teams and partners.

    Required Skills, Attributes & Experience
    Qualifications

    • Experience: 3-5 years of product management experience in mobile and web applications. Experience in SaaS and consumer lending in emerging markets is a plus.
    • Adaptability: Proven ability to quickly understand new domains and become effective within a short timeframe, and willingness to adapt to changing product priorities.
    • Analytical Skills: Strong data-driven approach to product development. Proficiency in using Google / Microsoft suite applications, BI analytics tools like Tableau / Looker / PowerBI. Experience writing sql/psql to query a database directly is a plus.   
    • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholder expectations and collaborate effectively.
    • Technical Acumen: Comfortable diving into technical details, including code and architecture, to fully understand issues.
    • Global Perspective: Experience working with international users and customers is highly desirable, particularly in emerging markets/sub saharan Africa.
    • Problem-Solving: Ability to balance productive processes with creative thinking to solve complex problems.
    • Project-Management: Ability to manage multiple cross-functional projects with customers, vendors, success, engineering, design, QA, marketing, and internal stakeholders, and to deliver results in line with budget and schedule targets.     Wabeh Sales and Marketing Associate Director

    Role Summary
    We are hiring a Sales and Marketing Manager for its Wabeh BNPL business line.  The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, hands-on leader who is equally comfortable executing on tactical growth plans and setting strategy for Wabeh’s sales and marketing initiatives over the next several years. The Sales and Marketing Manager will own the Wabeh commercial strategy and lead a team of talented partner managers and marketers to execute it. 

    This role will be primarily responsible for defining and executing on the go to market strategy for Wabeh. It is based in Nairobi, Kenya and reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer of Wabeh, with a local report to the Wabeh Kenya Country General Manager.
    The ideal candidate is commercially minded, with robust experience in sales-driven B2B2C and B2C partner management, sales, marketing, brand building and trade visibility in Africa. 
    Responsibilities
    Sales
    Merchant Driven Growth:

    • Enable sustainable and profitable growth in Wabeh’s loan portfolio by building a merchant-driven sales plan which creates high quality credit originations
    • Develop strategic relationships with High Priority Merchants to drive loyalty and recommendation
    • Analyze merchant performance across sales and portfolio health KPIs across sales locations, SKUs, customer base, price range and other criteria
    • Ensure monthly merchant metrics meetings and weekly metrics communications are undertaken
    • Develop strategy and manage sales agents to maximize results leveraging on Merchant’s agents, own brand ambassadors and contractors 
    • Develop and continuously refine sales process and pitch
    • Ensure efficient use of sales management tools (i.e. Salesforce) to give corporate visibility
    • Develop and implement strategies to create and then strengthen partnerships with merchants
    • Identify opportunities to drive higher conversion rates and efficient customer acquisition whilst not impacting portfolio health negatively
    • Manage commission budget to maximize returns and drive the desired behavior from the channels

    Merchant Partner Acquisition, Expansion & Development

    • Develop the strategy for acquiring the ideal Wabeh merchant (meeting necessary characteristics in terms of compliance,  size, locations, professionalism etc ). 
    • Oversee lead generation and merchant acquisition according to detailed policies
    • Provide leadership guidance / support during merchant training and in the improvement of merchant training processes.

    Marketing
    Marketing Strategy & Operations

    • Own the development of the overarching marketing strategy for Wabeh, with specific focus on customer segmentation, brand development, go to market strategies for products & services and key customer insights to deliver superior results
    • Develop trade marketing strategies that enable brand awareness and increased conversion at merchant locations
    • Lead the team to develop and execute impactful marketing and promotional campaigns that support the commercial teams to deliver on business objectives.

    Marketing Brand Management & Budget Management:

    • Act as the primary brand champion for Wabeh within Angaza, ensuring that brand essence plus the overall look and feel are consistently communicated and well maintained in all written and visual marketing materials
    • Oversee the development and management of the department budget, actively tracking ongoing spending to ensure alignment with business objectives and optimal use of resources.
    • Partner with the Senior Business Analyst to analyze marketing effectiveness and develop a data-driven approach to marketing deployment

    Team Management:

    • Oversee the hiring, coaching, performance evaluation and professional development of the sales and marketing teams
    • Drive team behavior to hit monthly/quarterly/annual merchant/sales KPIs
    • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement
    • Hire, develop, and retain top talent for the growing merchant organization
    • Provide ongoing team management and oversight
    • Implement effective enablement and incentive tactics to enable the sales and marketing teams work more efficiently
    • Manage commissions, bonuses and team incentives. Undertake quarterly commission calculations and communications with team member

    Required Skills, Attributes & Experience

    • At least 8 years experience in similar roles preferably in Financing Businesses and/or Smartphone / Electronics Retail.

    Wabeh Senior Business Analyst

    As a Senior Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in providing data-driven insights to optimize our sales, marketing, and collections strategies. You will be responsible for analyzing key business trends, generating actionable insights, and reporting on the effectiveness of various initiatives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our strategies are data-driven and continuously improved to maximize performance. The role reports to the Senior Director of Strategic Finance and is based in Kenya, preferably the Nairobi area.

    Responsibilities

    • Sales Analysis: Analyze the performance and productivity of our merchant partner network, including individual merchants and their sales agents. Identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Provide recommendations to optimize merchant performance.
    • Marketing Campaign Analysis: Measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns across different channels (physical, digital, SMS, etc.) and provide insights on ROI, customer acquisition costs, and engagement metrics.
    • Collections Campaign Analysis: Track and analyze the success of collections campaigns, identifying trends in repayment behavior, recovery rates, and opportunities to improve collections strategies. Support the design and execution of collections experiments to optimize performance.
    • Reporting & Dashboards: Develop regular reports and dashboards to communicate key metrics, trends, and insights to leadership and relevant stakeholders.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the sales, marketing, credit, and operations teams to ensure proper data collection, analysis, and insight generation; and to support monthly, quarterly, and annual planning processes.
    • Process Optimization: Recommend and help implement process improvements based on data-driven insights to improve operational efficiency and business performance.

    Required Skills, Attributes & Experience

    • Experience: 5+ years of direct experience in generating business analysis and data-driven recommendations, preferably within the fintech, banking, consumer lending, telco/ mobile money, or management consulting sectors. Examples of relevant analysis include campaign analysis, pricing analysis, and customer value management.

    Skills & Expertise:

    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights
    • Advanced Excel & PowerPoint skills 
    • Experience with sales, marketing, and portfolio management analysis and metrics
    • Strong understanding of financial products and consumer lending dynamics in Africa

    Wabeh CX Operations Team Leader

    Wabeh’s CX Ops Team Leader role is responsible for supporting the Director of Customer Experience in delivering a superior customer experience. This position will oversee the performance of the Customer Service and Collection Agents handling inbound and outbound calls. Wabeh has adopted flexible staffing arrangements hence the agents can be in house or outsourced to a debt collection or contact center agency.

    The role is based in Nairobi, Kenya and reports to the Director of Customer Experience. We regularly work remotely and will require that you have access to a stable internet as such. We also provide monthly stipends to help support this cost. 
    Responsibilities

    • Team supervision of the Agents and monitoring performance against set key performance measures
    • Scheduling of agents to ensure the extended working hours are effectively covered and agents are adhering to the shift allocations
    • Onboard and train new and existing agents on product and processes
    • Act as second level escalation for more complex tickets and ensure these are resolved in a timely and effective manner 
    • Quality assurance of all agents engagements to ensure compliance with the processes and policies 
    • Monitor performance of agents, identify trends and collaborate with the Director CX to optimize operations 
    • Articulate and monitor customer and merchant requests and feedback through the appropriate channels and ensure  pain points and complaints are addressed
    • Lead weekly, monthly and quarterly performance review meetings with agents and external stakeholders
    • Collaborate internally to implement customer default prevention activities & interventions while increasing collections from customers in default.  
    • Collaborate with the externally outsourced vendors to ensure the agents demonstrate the Wabeh values and ethical practices in all customer interaction

    Required Skills, Attributes & Experience

    • Business degree from a recognized university
    • 5 years work experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role managing performance of a direct team in a contact center environment
    • Excellent leadership, implementation and organizational skills
    • Relevant experience in B2CCollections or Customer Experience role.
    • Strong data analysis skills and attention to detail
    • Good problem solving and communication skills, preferably in English and Swahili.
    • Experience in product and process training will be an added advantage 
    • Enthusiasm for a fast-paced, collaborative, high-performing start-up work environment
    • Experience with Contact Center tools and CRMs (e.g. Zendesk, Ameyo, etc.)
    • Stable internet connection and the ability to regularly work from home with minimal supervision
