    Resident Doctor

    The Catholic Diocese of Nakuru (CDN) Mercy Mission Hospital Annex, wishes to recruit a highly motivated, competent, honest and remarkably talented Resident Doctor.

    Job Ref: CDN/HR/018/026/2020

    The Resident Doctor will take lead in clinical management of patients who require medical intervention that can be provided by a Doctor.

    He or She will work as a member of a team to maintain high standards of care and actively promote a smooth running of the institution to provide 24 hrs emergency and general health services to patients.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Appropriate evidence-based screening, risk assessment and early detection of illness, disease and disability.
    • Interventions to assist people to reduce or change risky and harmful lifestyle behavior.
    • Identify and coordinate referral of patients for further management.
    • Ensure proper documentation of patient notes.
    • Admit patients to the wards when necessary.
    • Carry out surgical procedures at the hospital.
    • Attend to emergencies in the hospital.
    • Advise the Board of Management hospital requirements in liaison with the Hospital Administrator.

    Qualifications

    • MUST have a degree in Medicine and Surgery from an institution recognized by the Medical and Dentist Board.
    • Must be registered and licensed with the Medical and Dentist Board
    • Must have evidence of a minimum of one year (1) post internship working experience in a busy Hospital.
    • Must demonstrate competence in performing surgical procedures as per his/her qualifications.
    • Additional courses undertaken are an added advantage.

    Skills

    • Ability to prioritize workload and work under pressure with minimal supervision.
    • Must have good communication skills both written and oral.
    • Must be a team player.
    • The candidate must be self driven and self motivated.

    Theatre Nurse

    The Catholic Diocese of Nakuru (CDN) Mercy Mission Hospital Annex wishes to recruit a highly motivated, competent, honest and remarkably talented Theatre Nurse.

    Job Ref: CDN/HR/018/030/2020

    The Theatre Nurse will work with other staff to maintain high standards and actively promote quality health care delivery and smooth running of the theatre and to provide care to patients in the institution who require acute medical intervention that can be provided by a theatre nurse.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement nursing care plans.
    • Administer quality nursing care.
    • Advice patients on health maintenance and disease prevention
    • Provide daily report directly to physicians

    Qualification / Skills

    • Must possess a diploma in nursing from a recognized institution
    • Must be registered with the nursing council and possess a current license.
    • MUST have undertaken an extra course in theatre nursing.
    • Must have good communication skills both written and oral.
    • The candidate must be self driven and self motivated.
    • Minimum working experience of two years in a busy theatre in a health institution.

    Pharmaceutical Technologist

    Job Ref: CDN/HR/018/027/2020

    Key Responsibilities

    • Monitor drugs and other medical supplies levels and initiate the procurement process.
    • Keep records of all drug stocks ordered, drugs issued to clients and stocks remaining.
    • Arrange drugs in the required manner.
    • Monitor storage conditions i.e. expiry status and security of the pharmaceuticals

    Qualification / Skills

    • Must be a holder of a Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a reputable institution.
    • The applicant MUST HAVE 3 years experience working in a hospital or a busy health facility.
    • Excellent use of MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
    • Good communication skills (written and oral) and etiquette.
    • Good negotiation skills.
    • Customer focused and always willing to go the extra mile.
    • Pharmacy & Poisons Board certification is MANDATORY.
