    Digital & E-Channels Support Officer

    The Role

    The successful jobholder will be expected to:

    • Ensure that all the Digital and E-Channels Systems are properly managed and deliver business results and delightful customer experience.
    • Diagnose and resolve system related issues or failures collaboratively working with requisite parties including system Vendors & development teams.
    • Participate in and carry out system implementation, rollouts and upgrades and ensure maintenance of the required system configuration, parameterization and change control procedures.
    • Ensure that business systems are protected and secure and that policies, procedures and guidelines for information processing and outputs are well documented, details available and well understood.
    • Ensure optimal uptime, approval rates, and overall efficiency of digital Channels & systems through proactive monitoring, transactions analysis to track failures, root cause analysis & providing technical solutions.
    • Ensure strict adherence to all regulations, statutes, standards, practices and all internal processes and procedures as per the relevant manuals and comply with all relevant external legislation and regulations with regard to Compliance requirements.
    • Contribute to the department’s achievement of a “Satisfactory” rating in both internal and external audit by performing your role to the required standards, adhering to all internal processes and procedures as per relevant manuals, policies and regulations of the bank.
    • Ensure that control and risk management requirements within your remit are addressed and where necessary escalated through the available defined channels.

    Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

    The successful jobholder will be required to possess the following qualifications:

    • A Bachelor’s degree in an ICT related field from a recognized university with at least 2 years’ experience in a competitive Digital Channels and Payments environment.
    • Working experience on Linux and Unix based environment with proficiency in Linux scripting and associated tools.
    • Competence in SQL database scripting using relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, and MySQL.
    • Competence in WebLogic, Boss and Apache based technologies such as Tomcat, Apache HTTP Server, Maven and Kafka.
    • Working experience with Kubernetes and/or OpenShift technologies.
    • Competence in API based technologies such as REST and SOAP APIs including API testing tools (Postman, SoapUI, curl), reading WSDL/Swagger/OpenAPI specs, and troubleshooting API failures via HTTP status codes, payload inspection, and trace logs.
    • Knowledge and experience on Integration of Web Services to Enterprise Service Bus (ESBs) and associated tools.
    • Knowledge in No-SQL scripting, ITIL foundation, Dev Ops, and CI/CD technologies will be an added advantage.
    • Knowledge of Mobile Banking platforms, languages and platforms will also be an added advantage.
    • Knowledge in Service Desk related technologies such as Jira, Manage Engine, ServiceNow, among others.
    • Working experience with Message Queuing Systems including IBM MQ, JMS, ActiveMQ and Rabbit.
    • Working experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Zabbix, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK/Splunk for systems health monitoring, log analysis, dashboarding, and alert management.

    Retail & SME Dealer

    The Role

    The successful jobholder will be expected to:

    • Enhance Forex revenues through proactive engagement with the Retail and Business Banking Division.
    • Regularly interact with branches, participate in relevant forums, and support branch staff through training and capacity-building efforts.
    • Resolve branch queries promptly and improve FX processes and products to stay competitive.
    • Build and maintain strong client relationships, offering tailored treasury solutions to meet their financial needs.
    • Provide expert advice on treasury products, risk management, and market trends.
    • Develop and execute strategies to boost Forex sales and revenue from Retail and SME customers.
    • Stay updated with market trends, economic indicators, and regulatory changes.
    • Develop expertise in various treasury products and provide insightful recommendations on investment opportunities and risk management.
    • Track and report Forex product performance across branches.
    • Monitor Incoming and Outgoing Swift performance to ensure efficiency.
    • Work with Marketing & PR to support Forex product promotions and establish a strong outdoor presence.

    Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

    The successful jobholder will be required to possess the following qualifications:

    • A University Degree in a business-related field with an ACI Dealing Certificate.
    • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a busy dealing room.
    • An understanding of CBK and Banking Acts.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of Treasury functions, including Back-Office processing.
    • Strong presentation, risk analysis, and treasury operations skills.
    • Excellent communication, strong selling, networking, negotiation, and persuasion skills.
    • Analytical, presentation, and report writing abilities.
    • Team-oriented with the capability to work under pressure.
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
    • Resilient and adaptable to challenging targets.
    • Special Position Requirements: Frequent travel required for branch and customer visits.

    Money Market Dealer

    The Role

    Specifically, the successful jobholder will be required to:

    • Manage daily liquidity positions, including balancing Nostro and central bank accounts.
    • Invest surplus funds and source funding via overnight deals, repos, Treasury Bills, and bonds.
    • Support funding requirements during liquidity shortfalls.
    • Execute money market, fixed income, and repo transactions within approved limits to meet targets.
    • Implement Treasury strategies across products and customer segments.
    • Monitor market conditions and interest rate movements.
    • Prepare treasury blotters, liquidity reports, and provide timely market updates.
    • Maintain strong relationships with interbank counterparties to secure competitive rates.
    • Keep internal stakeholders informed on prevailing market rates.
    • Ensure compliance with central bank regulations, internal policies, AML requirements, and market conduct standards.
    • Support Asset Liability Management (ALM) through funding mix optimization and interest rate risk management.
    • Contribute to balance sheet optimization initiatives.

    Skills, Competencies and Experience

    The successful candidate will be required to have the following skills and competencies:

    • A Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field with an ACI dealing certification.
    • Treasury experience for a period of not less than 3 years.
    • Market knowledge of local and international events that will impact the movements of currencies and interest rates.
    • Strong analytical skills to understand various pronouncements by Central Bank and Government directives touching on the financial markets.
    • Quick decision making and ability to work within a stressful environment with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to interpret various sources of data and collate the same into presentations from an economic and financial viewpoint.
    • Excellent communication skills both written and spoken and sound knowledge of macro-economic issues.
