    Study Trial Manager

    Vacancy No. FN-12-02-2023

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology or a any related health research field.
    • Excellent inter-personal skills and a willingness to work with others to overcome problems as and when they arise.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
    • Able to re-locate to Kisumu for this position.
    • Willingness to work in urban and rural areas for study purposes.

    Desirable Qualifications

    • Good Communication skills in Swahili.
    • Experience in drafting manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.

    Responsibilities

    • Plan, manage and supervise the day-to-day management and study visits for ongoing trials.
    • Prepare and submit trial documents to ethics and regulatory committees as required, including protocol amendments and six-monthly reports.
    • Supervise responses to data queries, review case report forms and other relevant study documentation, and maintain Study Master Files.
    • Participate in communication between KEMRI, study sponsors and the other study partners.
    • Lead and supervise the study teams to ensure that the studies are conducted to GCP and international trial standards.
    • Organise and participate in meetings regarding research progress, results and any other aspects of the studies

    Data Management Assistant and QA/QC Officer

    Qualifications

    • BSc in Computer Science, Biostatistics, Applied Statistics, mathematical sciencesor any other related field
    • Familiarity with modern database systems and information technologies including USSDs, Cloud computing and cloud server management

    • Devise and implement , efficient procedures for the automation of data outputs and dashboards for data visualization
    • Take lead in QA/QC processes across studies; hands-on preforming QA/QC of eCRFs, chart notes and name charts to ensure quality and accuracy and generation of real time reports to management and support to the team.

    Clinical Officer - K MR 7

    • Perform phlebotomy and collect nasal swab specimen collection
    • Complete case report forms and work closely with the study doctor to report all possible SAEs to the study safety monitor and KEMRI IRB.

    Laboratory Technologist - K MR 7

    Qualifications

    • Diploma in Medical Laboratory, biomedical laboratory or biochemical laboratory.
    • Extensive and recent hands-on experience on running HIV-1, Pregnancy testing, CD4 count, PCR, HIV ELISA assays and medical sample shipment.
    • Must have Good Clinical laboratory Practice training and/or CITI training.

    Community Tracker

    Qualifications

    • Diploma in Community Health, Social Sciences, Social Work, Sociology, Psychological Counselling or other related fields.
    • Experience in working in a busy clinical research set up with extensive hands-on experience working in with communities and other stakeholders.

    Experience

    • More than two (2) years Clinical research experience
    • Experience working in a busy reproductive health service provision/promotion organization or delivery of contraceptive services.

    • Ability to hold discussions with community gate keepers, and other key stakeholders in the community.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Community engagement
    • Community sensitization and mobilization for the study.
    • Work with CORPS to map study area and recruit potential subjects
    • Hold regular meetings and communication with local leaders and Community Units
    • Network with stakeholders
    • Participate in accelerated mobilization (distributing flyers and posters and conducting a mobile campaign with a public address system to mobilize the community.
    • Liaise with community leaders, gatekeepers and the community members about the study in consultation with the retention officer
    • Community Advisory Board formulation and continuously liaising with the board
