    Chief Accountant (Management Accounting)

    GRADE KPC 4- JOB REF: KPC/ADVT/24/2020

    Overall Purpose:

    Responsible for providing technical and professional leadership in management accounting and reporting including planning and ensuring generation of financial statements and coordination of external audits.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Evaluate, redesign, develop, document and implement of Management accounting procedures, processes and instruction manual in compliance with the company policy, changing tax regimes and regulations in the Oil Industry.
    • Coordinate billing of KPC deliveries, side contracts services and any other service offered by KPC.
    • Create, coordinate, and evaluate the financial programs and supporting information systems of the company.
    • Coordinate preparation of and ensure compliance with budgetary reporting requirements.
    • Oversee the approval and processing of revenue, expenditure, and position control documents, department budgets, and data entry.
    • Coordinate the preparation of management reports, special analyses, and information reports.
    • Establish and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards.
    • Interact with other managers to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations.

    Key Qualifications and experience

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Commerce (Accounting option) or its recognized equivalent qualifications
    2. CPA (K) or its recognized equivalent qualifications
    3. A minimum of eight (8) years relevant work experience three (3) of which must have been at Senior Management level.
    4. Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) or any other recognized professional body.
    5. Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks
    6. Proficiency in computer applications.
    7. Demonstrated competence in work performance; and
    8. Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution

    Chief Accountant (Revenue)

    Job Description

    GRADE KPC 4- JOB REF KPC/ADVT/25/2020

    Overall Purpose:

    Responsible for providing technical and professional leadership in revenue accounting including monitoring and analysis of revenue trends and implementation of controls.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Improvement of controls by evaluating, redesigning, developing, documenting and implementing of Revenue & customer relations procedures, processes and instruction manual in compliance with the company policy, changing tax regimes and regulations in the Oil Industry.
    • Accomplishing finance and the company’s mission by completing related results as needed.
    • Co-ordinate the accounting of all receipts, transfers and deliveries in and out of all Kenya Pipeline installations countrywide.

    Corporate Communication Manager

    GRADE KPC 3 - JOB REF KPC/ADVT/23/2020

    Overall Purpose

    Responsible for external and internal communication geared towards promotion of the Company’s Corporate identity and enhancement of its brand image through exposition of information by publicizing the Company’s objectives, policies, achievement and activities. The position is also responsible for creating high quality content and fostering good media and customer relations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Formulate, develop and implement the Company’s Communication Policies and strategies.
    • Develop and implement KPC Public Relations strategy, taking into account the internal and external changes in the market and ensure that these are aligned with the Corporate Strategic Plan as well as internal communications strategies.
    • Develop operational plans and budget for effective implementation of PR programmes.

    Supply Logistics Manager

    JOB REF: KPC/ADVT/22/2020

    Overall Purpose

    Responsible for undertaking all activities related to demand planning and forecasting of products transported through the pipeline and translating the output into pipeline pumping schedules for the pipeline network and import schedules. In addition, provide KPC management and the Oil industry with up to date and detailed, accurate and timely information on product stocks, ullage availability, oil industry planned product importation, pipeline operational status and scheduled pipeline plans for decision making.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Study products demands in the market and at KPC Depots/Terminals and carry out forecasts to determine realistic pumping schedules to maximize pipeline utilization and ensure adequate product stocks in the storage depots to meet customers’ requirements.
    • Plan the pipeline network pumping schedule in consultation with the oil industry coordinator and communicate to the respective pumping stations for implementation after approval by Operations Manager before.
    • Prepare and periodically update Management on the KOSF shipping nominations and ensure implementation as planned by the Petroleum industry.
    • Prepare Transportation and Storage Agreements for new Pipeline users
    • Keep abreast of Petroleum Industry decisions between the Marketers and the Government and implement where KPC is involved.
    • Closely liaise with Kenya Revenue Authority on matters related to Petroleum products taxation and advice accordingly.
    • Represent KPC at Oil Industry supply coordination meetings, in the industry vessel scheduling/ullage committee and other industry stakeholder’s forums and update management on critical industry issues requiring KPC action.
    • Prepare daily/monthly Management reports on stock status and carry out other related activities as directed by management.

    Key Qualifications and experience

    • Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Commerce or equivalent from a recognized institution
    • Minimum of ten (10) years post qualification relevant experience five (5) of which should be at senior level in a large and busy organization.
    • Membership to a relevant professional body
    • Proficiency in Computer applications.
    • Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

    Deputy Director (Training & Academic Linkages)

    The holder of the position will be based at the Institute’s Nairobi Campus
    KPC owned Morendat Institute of Oil & Gas (MIOG) is a Centre of Excellence established to develop human resource capacity in Oil and Gas including Pipeline Management, Operations and Maintenance. The Institute is registered and licensed by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA) and embraces Competency Based Education and Training (CBET) and offers both technical and professional courses.
    The Vision of the Institute is “International Centre of Excellence for Oil & Gas skills development’, while the Mission is ‘To build capacity for Oil & Gas industry by offering internationally accredited courses, research and consultancy services’.
    In accordance with the vision and mission of MIOG, KPC seeks to appoint a dynamic leader to the position of Deputy Director (Training Academics and Linkages (TAL).

    Overall Purpose of the Job

    Reporting to the Director of the Institute, the Deputy Director (TAL) will ensure strategic leadership in Training, Academics and Linkages that sustains efficient running and promotion of quality training at the Institute.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Developing systems, procedures and strategies for implementing the Institute’s training mandate;
    • Leading and coordinating training and academic linkage programs
    • Ensuring implementation of MIOG as a competency-based training institution as per the Master Plan;
    • Leading program development, including curriculum, instructional strategies and instructional materials
    • Coordinating the planning, development and review of training programs in line with identified needs;

    To be appointed to this role, the successful candidate must be a Kenyan citizen and have;

    • Master’s Degree in Education (Educational Administration or, Educational Leadership or Curriculum and Instruction), OR Masters in any relevant filed with over 10 years post qualification hands on experience as a trainer/faculty member in a recognized Institution of higher learning
    • An earned PhD degree will be an added advantage;
    • At least 10 years’ post qualification experience in Training in an Institution of higher learning 5 of which should have been in leadership role
    • Demonstrable knowledge of TVET industry and Competency Based Education and Training

    General Manager (Pipeline Operations & Maintenance)

    GRADE KPC 2 - JOB REF: KPC/ADVT/20/2020

    Overall Purpose

    Reporting to the Managing Director, the role is responsible for provision of leadership to heads of departments with directorate mandate for Operations, Maintenance, Quality Control Supply Logistics departments as well as the Airwing Unit. The job holder will guide the delivery of the entire spectrum of the respective departmental strategies. A key part of this role will be to provide leadership in supply and delivery of Petroleum products.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Responsible for ensuring petroleum products are transported through the pipeline in the most efficient, safe and economical manner.
    • Ensuring maintenance and preservation of the required product quality standards in the pipeline and storage system.
    • Liaising with oil marketing companies and other stakeholders on ullage allocations, product transportation and other operational matters and advising the Managing Director on changes in operational requirements which may be necessary for optimization of petroleum pumping.
    • Ensuring proper maintenance schedules are effected to improve on plant and equipment availability and efficiency.
    • Provide technical leadership to multidisciplinary teams to enable them to develop, implement and evaluate strategic corporate plans and budgets aimed at improving delivery of services.
    • Maintaining effective communication between staff of all cadres to provide the right working environment for achievement of Company goals.
    • Initiating and participating in organizational performance reviews and business process improvement programmes as well as undertaking specials investigations aimed at improving organizational effectiveness.
    • Writing and submitting project charters and/or business cases in order to secure resource commitments (e.g. Budgets, personnel and business systems) from the Board and Executive that will enable execution of initiatives.

    Key Qualifications & Experiences

    • Master’s degree in a relevant field
    • Bachelor of Science in any Engineering field from a recognized university

The job holder will guide the delivery of the entire spectrum of human resource and administrative strategies. A key part of this role will be to provide leadership in change management, organizational development initiatives and ensuring staff motivation by creating a conducive working environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide leadership in the development and implementation of human resource strategies, policies and procedures to achieve KPC’s strategic objectives;
    • Identify, attract, deploy and retain qualified and skilled personnel;

    • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or Human Resource Management
    • Post Graduate Diploma or Higher National Diploma in Human Resource Management if either degree is not in HRM
    • Minimum of twelve (12) years post qualification relevant experience five (5) of which should be at senior level in a large and complex organization.
    • Membership to Institute of Human Resource Management
    • Possession of a current Practicing License.
