We are pleased to announce the following vacancy in the Cyber Security Department within the Corporate Security division. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below:

The Cyber Security Prevent & Defense Team is responsible for implementing cyber security architecture and policies. The team oversees the day-to-day maintenance of the Cyber Security Infrastructure, managing support SLAs with both internal and external customers, and running of key cyber security programs.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Cyber Prevent and Defense, the successful candidate will lend support in day to day operations and maintenance of Cyber Security services to ensure 99.999% availability. He /she will provide technical security expertise and 2nd level support to staff and teams to ensure the efficient use of systems and tools. He or she will be responsible for managing key cyber security programs across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Driving standards of excellence to achieve Cyber Security strategy.

• Facilitate implementation, management, compliance, and optimization of Cyber Security policies, baselines, standards, and processes in order to improve posture.
• Operational team lead in the configuration, management and optimization of cyber security endpoint technologies.

• Lead in the implementation, management and optimization of controls to mitigate cyber risks, and audit findings (Internal and External).
• Serve as the primary point of contact & escalation point for Security Administration tasks: provisioning and deprovisioning, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and support.
• Lead efforts in change management, continuous improvement and documentation around Cyber Security solutions and processes.
• Responsible for the set-up, coordination, execution, and maintenance of the incident management in conjunction with incident management team.
• Ensure management and maturity of patching and vulnerability management program.
• Ensure coverage, adequacy and KPIs of endpoint security controls are met and continually approved.
• Ensure agreed support SLAs are met with respective cyber security vendors.
• Provide 2nd level support to staff and contractors for better experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science/information Technology
• At least one professional Information Security Qualification: CISSP/CISM/CISA
• Advance competencies in Microsoft, Linux or Unix Operating Systems administration
• Advance competencies experience in Information Security Technologies
• Advance competencies in Network Security: CCNP or CCIE (Security) is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience with Cyber security technologies
• Experience in design, delivery and support of Information Security solutions to customers will be an added advantage.
• Expert level analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
• Good report writing and communication skills
• Good at coordinating and leading teams.

Reporting to the Senior Manager - Cyber Security Governance, Risk and Control, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the organization’s cyber security risks are under explicit management control and as well coordinate strategic integration of cyber security programs within Safaricom. He or she will be part of the team that drives compliance to internal and global cyber security related policies and standards, Vodafone Cyber Security Baseline controls and applicable Kenyan laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Continually review and update security policies, standards and guidelines in response to the ever-changing cyber threats in coordination with Enterprise Risk Management team.
• Monitor and drive compliance to internal and global cyber security related policies and standards, Cyber Security Baseline benchmarking controls and applicable Kenyan laws and regulations.
• Coordinate stakeholders to deliver on targets or agreed business outcomes.
• Coordinate periodic independent assurance of critical products and services.
• Coordinating implementation of recommendations from independent assessments.
• Conduct cyber risk assessments to determine cyber risk profile and define treatment plans.
• Recommend cyber security services improvement plans.
• Coordinate projects handover process within the cyber security functions.
• Continually review, implementation and improvements of the user access governance process.
• Coordinate periodic cyber security knowledge transfer, awareness sessions and phishing simulations to staff in line with strategy.
• Support implementation of the Managed Security Services strategy and roadmap.
• Participate actively in cyber security events and trade shows, reporting and presentations.
• Communications, reporting and presentations skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Eng./Computer Science/ Information Technology (or equivalent) from a recognized university.
• At least one professional Certification: CISM/CISA/CISSP/CEH/CCNA/CCNP(Security)
• At least 2+ years proven experience with Cyber Security related Standards (ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, etc.).
• Proven experience with GDPR, Kenyan Data Protection laws, CBK guidelines on Cyber Security amongst others.
• At least 2+ years of hands on experience in managing Cyber Security technologies and operations.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
• Good report writing and communication skills.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Cyber Security Strategy & Secure by Design, the successful candidate will lend support in ensuring all new and existing systems/products/services are designed and implemented in a secure manner to avoid or mitigate any risks/security threats encountered. The role holder will be responsible for defining, analyzing and periodically reviewing the technology security strategy and roadmap based on the ever-evolving threat landscape and ensure risks identified are adequately mitigated. He/she will also architect and design cyber security systems in line with best practices to ensure they meet all requirements including adequate security, capacity and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in the periodically review of the cyber security strategy and roadmap considering the ever-evolving threat landscape, business and regulatory requirements.
• Participate on research and development/security intelligence on new areas in security to input to strategy.
• Design cyber security solutions in line with best practices to ensure deployment of best in class solutions.
• Define cyber security requirements and acceptance criteria for new systems.
• Participate in budget forecasting and defense of spend or business cases at CAPEX board.
• Draft and evaluate business cases, RFIs/RFPs, conduct proof of concepts, technical evaluations.
• Work with vendors and Supply Chain to facilitate procurement while ensuring cost leadership.
• Participate in testing, implementation, deployment and commissioning of new solutions.
• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery in accordance with best practices for solutions deployed.
• Ensure proper change management and system handover processes are followed.
• Recommend major upgrades where required and work with the operations team to implement.
• Ensure all security programs are continually improved to maximize on their returns/benefits.
• Define metrics and report periodically to clearly demonstrate return on security investment.
• Conduct knowledge transfer to other team members/staff on new or topical areas.

QUALIFICATION

• Degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science/Information Technology
• IT Networking Certifications: CCNA/CCNP/CCIE (with a Security option) will be an added advantage
• Information Security Certifications: e.g. CISSP/CISM/CISA/OSCP/CEH
• At least 2 years proven experience in IT Networks and/or Systems Administration
• At least 2 years proven experience in implementing and administering Cyber Security solutions
• Working knowledge of databases, web, big data, cloud /virtualization, microservices technologies
• At least 1-year proven experience in projects management, coordinating and managing stakeholders
