    Head of Finance

    Purpose
    The role will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting reports, budgeting, ensuring compliance, capital management, general ledger management and decision support.
    Primary responsibilities

    • Financial reporting-Management reporting, statutory reporting, and regulatory reporting (IRA, KRA, CMA).
    • General ledger management - Establish and maintain sound and transparent accounting and fiscal control procedures for financial and operations to ensure the completeness, integrity and accuracy of general ledger and associated processes (Reconciliations and check lists etc).
    • Compliance - Ensure compliance of financial and operations systems with the policies and procedures, rules and regulations (IRA), and Government of Kenyan laws.
    • Capital management -Asset liability matching, liquidity management, and investment management.
    • Leadership - Provide leadership to finance and operations aspects, including general administrative processes, financial management, accounting, and logistics. Makes day-to-day interpretations and decisions on the accounting treatment of financial transactions.
    • Decision and value add support - Financial modelling for decision support, budgeting support, preparation of year end audit work papers, Ad hoc reporting and value add reporting.

    Person Specifications
    Academic Qualification

    •  Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance and Accounting or its equivalent from a recognized institution. An MBA will be an added advantage.

    Professional Qualification

    • CPAKVACCA or its equivalent from a recognized institution.

    Experience

    • Minimum of 5 years' Insurance Industry experience.

    Skills and Attributes

    • Knowledge of applicable regulations including IRA, KRA, CMA, IASB IFRSS and IFRS 17.
    • Excellent management and leadership skills.
    • Good problem solving and analytical thinking skills
    • Good planning and organizational skills; and
    • Excellent report writing skills.
    • Strong preference will be given to candidates with the requisite qualifications, skills and experience.

    Regional Sales Co-ordinator Bancassurance

    The purpose of this position is to drive life insurance sales ni the bank partner branches assigned to them and to execute the Sanlam's and partner bank strategy. The role holder will be responsible for enhancing life insurance business development activities, new customer acquisition and market penetration by providing sales leadership and execution to achieve set sales targets.
    Primary responsibilities:

    • Ensure achievement of Premium Volumes and Revenue objectives of the region. Ensure regulatory certification of new joiners and existing team members and timely renewal of the same.
    • Impart effective training of sales code of conduct, training on insurance products, AML trainings and keep the record of attendance to comply with internal and regulatory guidelines.
    • Maintain an optimum number of sales forces to deliver the planned targets. (Recruitment and management of agents)
    • Ensure implementation of insurance sales process and the investment profile suitability of clients to the products purchased.
    • Plan and co-ordinate customer seminars and market activations to build sales pipelines.
    • Ensure persistency of insurance products through coordination with operations team and insurer partners to ensure timely collection of premiums and renewals. Provide feedback from market and customers to partners for continuous Improvement/ideation for new product and processes.
    • Ensure timely dissemination of knowledge on products and market updates amongst Branch front line team members and Unit Heads.
    • Track the input activities of team members through daily reports to ensure activation on insurance and align the activities to the desired premium volumes and revenue objectives.
    • Ensure customer-centricity at al times, adherence to fair dealing norms and compliance to IRA guidelines.
    • Ensure adequacy of product brochures and proposal forms at Branches. Ensure complaint resolution within the approved TAT through coordination with Bancassurance team and insurer partners.
    • Relationship management of key collaborators including Regional Sales Managers, Assistant Regional sales Manager, Branch managers and any others identified.
    • Preparation of weekly and monthly sales reports as per the business needs

    Person Specifications Academic Qualification

    • A degree from a recognized university.
    • Certification or proof of study ni ACII, AIKI or CMI will be an added advantage.

    Experience

    • Experience in sales management at supervisory level or above, preferably ni the financial services industry.

    Skills and Attributes

    • Result driven and customer focused.
    • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
    • Proven working experience as an insurance agent/unit manager or relevant experience.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
    • Experience ni delivering client-focused solutions and ni creating long-lasting relationships.
