    QSSK-LGE-CO-Colong Officer

    Job Purpose:

    • Responsible for container tracking in the logistics operations with a focus on ensuring all empty containers are returned within the free periods stipulated by the liners and informing the concerned clients/customer service executives of the need to return the empty containers before the expiry date and any associated costs therewith

    FUNCTIONS/KEY RESULTS EXPECTED:

    • Timely uploading of the guarantee forms and the due dates on the SAP container tracking system
    • Daily tracking of all containers loaded and empty between Mombasa port and the client’s site in Uganda including empty containers being returned to the depot
    • Ensure all empties are checked for return to the line depot and check for damages in form of photographic evidence and uploaded onto the container tracking system and the relevant customer service notified to inform the client concerned
    • For containers out of free days, pre-planning and processing payments of detention charges to obtain storing order and allowing container drop-off, avoiding P&L costs due to slow Co-Log payment processes.
    • Receive, analyse and organize the payment of detention invoices received from shipping lines as per the line tariff printed on the guarantee form. Analysis work on responsibilities sharing (on container life cycle)
    • Identify damages to containers before return to line and the risks exposure to the clients.
    • Preparing daily empty containers reports for all Clients
    • Follow up of empty Containers after Cargo has been offloaded by ensuring same returned to the Container depot.
    • Coordinate pickup of empty containers at site with the trucking department
    • Follow up of Empty Container deposits from shipping line.
    • Upload interchange received from the shipping line empty depots on the SAP system and maintain files for future reference

    KEY CAPABILITIES AND EDUCATION:

    • Degree/Diploma holder in Supply Chain Management or equivalent
    • At least 5 years’ experience in clearing and forwarding industry with a focus on empty container tracking and handling.
    • Excellent problem solving & analytical skills.
    • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written and reporting skills.
    • Ability to multi-task and get things done to completion.
    • A team player with a positive attitude, attention to detail and can work long hours.
    • Knowledge and understanding of various shipping lines, tariffs and requirements.
    • Computer proficiency with excellent knowledge in office 365
    • Basic PPE, HSE, firefighting and first aid training
    • High level of integrity required

    QSSK-LBK-DAW-Data Analyst-Warehousing

    Job summary:

    • The prime function of this role is to collect and collate data support the Warehousing team (including the 3PL) in all aspects of KPI and other reporting. The role holder will be responsible to ensure performance metrics are captured correctly and reported on time to all relevant stakeholders. The significance of this role is critical to enable managers have full visibility of actual performance since traditional executional logistics are outsourced to 3rd party providers. This role holder will be the primary support of the Analytics Manager to drive accurate reporting at a management and transactional level in order to ensure that all aspects of the Warehousing process and systems, especially SAP, in KBL are accurate and provide trustworthy data for management reporting and decision-making.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Ensure accurate data inputs
    • Analyze performance trends of processes including 3rd party logistics provider
    • Generate insights from performance trends on key drivers of performance
    • Create visibility of performance for stakeholders through timely reporting of KPI’s
    • Benchmark within our client and industry peers.
    • To report performance across all aspects of warehousing in the market.
    • To use Logistics systems & 3 PL Partners ensuring their integrity and accuracy. This relates especially but not exclusively to SAP.
    • To comply fully with the logistics reporting process requirements of both internal and external audit.
    • To ensure that all costs for all LOGISTICS requirements through and out of the warehouses are accurate.
    • To gather the data needed to publish the warehousing loss report.
    • To report on warehousing sustainability in market.
    • To maintain and issue the warehousing portion of the Logistics KPI dashboard.
    • To ensure all warehousing LOGISTICS data is accurate.
    • To collect and collate performance reporting with the 3rd party logistics provider.
    • Support risk reporting and contingency planning.
    • Escalate in a timely manner any gaps or known inaccuracies in data capture or reporting.
    • Work closely with Supply Finance and 3PL Finance/reporting teams
    • Support local logistics & production teams as required
    • Update visual performance management in every operational area in warehousing portion of LOGISTICS.

    BARRIERS TO SUCCESS IN ROLE

    • Lack of experience in use of SAP, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Word or Powerpoint.
    • Inability to collate and organize big data for trends and insight gathering
    • Lack of insight/understanding of 3PL contracts and KPIs
    • Inability to manage within a demanding and time-constrained environment.
    • Inability to manage stakeholders and communicate at senior levels in the organisation.
    • Inability to work to embrace the our client Values and Capabilities

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

    • University Degree – finance related
    • 2+ years of experience as a data analyst
    • Proficient in Analytics
    • CPA qualifications will be an added advantage
    • SAP knowledge will be an added advantage
    • Experience of formalized performance management and reporting (KPIs)
    • Awareness of contract management reporting will be an added advantage

    QSSK-QSS-BO-Boiler Technician

    Job summary:

    Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

    • Ensure optimal and continuous operation of mechanical systems by performing routine inspections and maintenance, monitoring metering equipment and adjusting levels as necessary
    • Maintain systems by scheduling and carrying out regular inspections, cleanings, filter replacement and all other tasks necessary to keep all components performing optimally; identify and repair or replace malfunctioning components
    • Ensure safety by monitoring safety equipment, identifying potential issues and taking appropriate steps to repair the problem
    • Perform necessary repairs and replacements, obtain replacement parts and upgrade components as needed
    • Supervise team of assistant operators and mechanics by delegating repair, maintenance and monitoring tasks, scheduling jobs, providing appropriate instruction and giving constructive feedback on performance
    • Study to keep current on knowledge of all applicable safety laws, regulations and policies in order to ensure full compliance at all times
    • Create and maintain properly documented records of inspections, maintenance routines and repairs
    • Sustain up-to-date knowledge of developments in relevant technology and make recommendations for improvements/upgrades

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • AT least Diploma in mechanical engineering field from a recognized institution.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience with complex steam, water & compressed air  systems in a busy manufacturing setting
    • Knowledge/experience in operation/maintenance of effluent treatment plant is an added advantage
    • Advanced Boiler operator Certification from NITA.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Detail-oriented and highly safety-conscious
    • Ability to work under pressure
