    Project Manager

    DESCRIPTION

    We are pleased to announce the following Project Manager Opportunity in Project Management Chapter within the Digital IT & Networks Departments.  In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below.

    Brief Description

    Reporting to the Program Manager, the position holder will provide project support in the management and execution of projects. They will coordinate and manage assigned Projects to ensure implementation within agreed timelines, budget and processes.

    Detailed Description

    Project Planning

    • Determine project goals and or product or service deliverables to meet stakeholder expectations.
    • Identify performance criteria
    • Determine the key resource requirements to support planning and decision-making.
    • Define appropriate estimate project schedule to support decision-making.
    • Produce formal document to obtain an approval decision from the stakeholders.
    • Refine project requirements, assumptions and constraints
    • Develop the resource management plan
    • Refine project estimates in order to determine and define project baseline, schedule.
    • Establish project controls by defining the required correct processes, measures, and controls to manage project change, communications, procurement, risk, quality, and human resources to facilitate project executing and controlling processes, and to ensure compliance with generally accepted industry standards.
    • Develop a formal and comprehensive project plan by integrating and documenting project deliverables, acceptance criteria, processes, procedures, risks, and tasks to facilitate project executing, controlling, and closing processes.
    • Obtain project plan approval by reviewing the plan with the key stakeholder and other required stakeholders to confirm project baselines prior to proceeding with project executing processes;

    Project Execution

    • Commit project resources in to ensure that all activities are performed.
    • Develop project plan in accordance to the scope and committed resources
    • Manage project progress by ensuring that activities are executed as planned in order to achieve the project objectives.
    • Communicate project progress by producing project reports to provide timely and accurate project status and decision support information to stakeholders.
    • Implement quality assurance procedures by performing  project control activities to meet project objectives;

    Project Control

    • Measure project performance.
    • Take timely corrective action by addressing the root causes in the problem areas in order to eliminate or minimize negative impact.
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of the corrective actions by measuring subsequent performance in order to determine the need further actions
    • Ensure compliance with the change management plan by monitoring response to change initiatives in order to manage scope.
    • Reassess project control plans by scheduling periodic reviews in order to ensure their effectiveness and currency.
    • Respond to risk event triggers in accordance with the risk management plan in order to properly manage project outcomes.
    • Monitor project activity by performing periodic inspections to ensure that authorized approaches and processes are followed or to identify the need for corrective action; 

    Projects Close Out

    • Obtain final acceptance of deliverables by obtaining formal approval from appropriate stakeholders to achieve closeout.
    • Document lessons learned by surveying project team members and other relevant stakeholders to use for the benefit of future projects.
    • Facilitate administrative and financial closure in accordance with the project plan in order to comply with organization and stakeholder requirements.
    • Preserve essential project records for future use to adhere to legal and other requirements.
    • Release project resources by following appropriate organizational procedures in order to optimize resource utilization.

    IOT DevOps Engineer

    DESCRIPTION

    We are pleased to announce the following Position in the Digital IT Department within the Technology Division.   In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below.

    Brief Description

    Reporting to the Enterprise IOT Lead, the position holder will be responsible for IOT service availability ensuring that IOT solutions are available 24*7 while supporting evolution of the existing services in production systems. The IOT solutions include Smart Metering (Water & Power), Telematics, Logistics, Cold Chain Management, SIM Management and several IOT bespoke solutions.

    IOT DevOps engineers’ duty include but not limited to deploying, managing, and supporting the latest software using the latest automation, virtualization, and containerization technologies.

    The role also includes optimal and effective management of IOT telemetry data i.e., storage, sharing with 3rd party systems and deriving analytical insights using ML/ AI algorithms for proactive IOT service maintenance.

    Other activities include performance management, fault management, liaison and support of internal and external IOT stakeholders.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Proactively ensure the highest level IOT service and systems availability through effective monitoring
    • Incident/ Problem Management – resolve IOT service escalations as per SLA and follow-up to resolution by engaging 3rd level support.
    • Change management – Work with the IOT squad including developers, quality assurance and support teams to verify and deploy software from staging environments to production systems.
    • Devops – Maintain, fine-tune, installed systems and tools. Source or develop operational tools i.e. scripts to improve work efficiency and ensure operational KPIs are met.
    • IOT data management – ensuring optimal operation of IOT data stores ensuring data consuming applications including APIs are efficient; big data storage and processing and deriving operational insights from the data.
    • Business Continuity – Implement security, backup and redundancy policies including routine disaster failover tests.
    • Liaise with Support teams, infrastructure team, network administrators, information security to maintain service availability and integrity of the applications.
    • Reporting – Produce routine operational reports on IOT KPIs and perform actions necessary to ensure the KPIs are met.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • BSc. Computer Science/Software Engineering/IT/ Engineering
    • 5 years + experience in IT/ DevOps support.
    • Solid exposure to virtualisation and container technologies; especially Docker, Kubernetes, VMWare
    • Extensive experience in deploying and supporting enterprise APIs on various technologies i.e. TIBCO/WebLogic/Tomcat/Glassfish/Azure/AWS.
    • Strong knowledge & experience using  (CI/CD) such as Jenkins /drone/CycleCI
    • Experience in Agile Development/software life-cycle development (SDLC).
    • Extensive programming experience using Java, C#, Python, JavaScript etc and Solid scripting skills (e.g. shell scripts, bash)
    • Extensive experience with databases – data structures, relational data model, Stored Procedures, PL/SQL development, Nosql Databases, InMemory DBs
    • Solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks (Mongo DB, SQL Server, RabbitMQ, Hardoop)
    • Solid understanding of web services/technologies - REST/JSON, WSDL, XML, XSD;
    • Experience using code versioning & collaboration tools such as Git/SVN
    • Experience in Unix/Linux/AIX Operating System and application security technologies (e.g. SSL)
    • Deep understanding of the IOT stack and knowledge of embedded systems

    Retail Technical Lead

    Key Responsibilities

    • Responsible for all Domain business projects by resourcing and leading virtual teams across IT
    • Responsible for delivering 95% of the projects on time
    • Responsible for ensuring project stability within max 48 hours
    • Ensure agile is implemented in at least 50% of the projects
    • Maintain an accurate registry of all business projects  with various statuses and ensure business teams are appraised at all times
    • Align with business product leads & PMO on project KPI’s, milestones and timelines
    • Attend business strategy meetings to ensure IT is aligned with business needs
    • Regular team and one-on-one engagements
    • Build the team skillset according to the fit for future program
    • Team performance management
    • Provide budget inputs for business solutions.

    • Drive reuse on all technical and business functionality designed and no duplication of business components
    • Collaboratively oversee the development/configuration of solutions as per agreed designs
    • Provide solution architecture input into all new system tenders

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Degree in Science/computer science/Engineering/Business related.
    • Certification in Business Analysis & Agile Project Management will be an added advantage
    • Strong business acumen and mindset – with bias to Consumer and Sales domains
    • 5+ years of software development experience in a busy IT development environment, 2 years of which must include experience in Business Analysis and Systems design.
    • 3+ years’ Experience in Technical Leadership of large IT projects
    • Team player who is skilled at building up and managing stakeholder relationships successfully
    • Ability to persuade stakeholders and to champion effective techniques through delivery
