    Training Officer

    We are seeking to recruit a TRAINING OFFICER specializing in STATUTORY TRAININGS in OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH (OSH). The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Science or OSH with a solid record of hands-on experience and training delivery in the field.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide Strategic leadership and operational oversight of the statutory trainings department.
    • Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of statutory OSH trainings.
    • Design, implement and continuously update OSH training curricula in line with national legislation and industry best practices.
    • Coordinate and Conduct OSH audits, training sessions and assessments for member organizations.
    • Supervise and mentor a team of trainers and support staff ensuring high quality service delivery
    • Maintain compliance with regulatory training standards and maintain training records ensuring timely certification.
    • Engage with stakeholders, including government agencies and clients, to promote workplace safety culture.

     Qualifications and Requirements

    • A Bachelor's degree in Science or Occupational Safety and Health Additionally as an added advantage have a 
    • A Postgraduate Diploma in OSH 
    • OR A NEBOSH Diploma in OSH
    • Minimum of 5 years proven practical experience in Occupational Safety and Health trainings
    • Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive OSH audits.
    • Demonstrated experience in managing or coordinating a team or department.
    • Proven basic computer skills (e.g., MS Office, report writing).
    • Excellent communication and facilitation and organizational skills.

     Desirable Attributes

    • Certification in adult training methodologies or instructional design is an added advantage.
    • In-depth knowledge of national and international OSH regulations.
    • A proactive, self driven leader with the ability to work independently and lead a training team effectively.

    Senior Pest Control Supervisor

    The role of the successful candidate will be to supervise their area of operation, manage people and all other resources allocated to them, while complying with all laid down company policies and procedures. They will report to the Assistant Farm Manager and belong to the Technical Uni

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Spray operation  

    • In consultation with the Assistant farm manager prepare an effective spray programme.
    • Proper supervision of spray personnel to ensure timely start of sprays, proper coverage, and techniques.
    • Ensure correct dosage /rates are used as per the product label and in consultation with the assistant farm manager.
    • Verification of the production fields to ensure priority is given to control before the economic injury level.
    • Ensuring that spray personnel are aware of the spray targets, diseases, or pest chemicals being used.
    • Ensure that spray personnel are aware of the spray targets, disease or pest, and chemicals used.
    • Ensure that greenhouse supervisors are aware of the houses to be sprayed.
    • Ensure proper and economic use of company resources, including but not limited to PPEs, chemicals, machinery, etc

     Scouting

    • Ensure that the scouting team performs their duties within the set standards, i.e., monitoring of pest &disease, feeding deficiency, and any other abnormality in the crop.
    • Ensure that the scouting report is compiled on Wednesday and Saturday and submitted as required.
    • Monitor crop protection products, i.e., efficacy, phytotoxicity and compatibility, performance, and appropriately record results.
    • Ensure proper application of Phytoseiulus persimilis and physical strategies.

     People Management

    • Ensure that spray personnel are always in full PPEs before starting work.
    • Monitor individual and group performance and report the same to the senior supervisor.
    • Report any employee-related issues to existing staff and provide induction to new staff.
    • Effective and continuous training for existing staff and induction for new staff.

    Safety, health, and environment

    • Ensure that personnel adhere to all set safety and health standards.
    • Ensuring that waste is segregated and disposed of as required from the source.
    • Adherence to all environmental policies and procedures.

    Competence/Attributes/Qualifications/Knowledge Required

    • Minimum O-level education, higher academic qualification is an added advantage.
    • Training in the safe and effective use of pesticides
    • Technical training in horticulture /agriculture added an advantage.
    • Computer literate.
    • Honesty and integrity.
    • Knowledge of pests and diseases.
    • Experience as a spray operative.

    Quality Assurance Supervisor

    The Company is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Assurance Supervisor to oversee the quality control process in their fresh produce handling and distribution operations. The successful candidate will ensure that all products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance, maintaining customer satisfaction and company reputation. The incumbent will be reporting to the Quality Asst Manager & Farm Manager.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Supervise Quality Control Team: Lead a team of quality control inspectors, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure effective product inspection and quality control.
    • Product Inspection: Conduct regular inspections of fresh produce at various stages, including receiving, storage, packing, and shipping, to identify defects, damage, or non-compliance with standards.
    • Quality Standards Implementation: Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and standards in line with industry regulations, company policies, and customer requirements.
    • Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of quality control checks, product inspections, and non-conformity reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with suppliers to address quality issues, provide feedback, and implement corrective actions to improve product quality.
    • Training and Development: Provide training to staff on quality control procedures, product handling, and regulatory requirements to enhance product quality and safety.
    • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency, product quality, and customer satisfaction.
    • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, such as food safety standards, labeling requirements, and Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs).
    • Insure legality of the product through proper labelling and right packaging
    • Receiving customer complaints, analysing them and trending them for customer feedback

    Requirements:

    • Minimum of diploma in food safety or related field
    • Minimum 5-year hands on work experience in a reputable Horticulture farm or related field
    • Proven experience in quality assurance or control in the fresh produce industry
    • Strong knowledge of quality control principles, food safety regulations, and industry standards
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills
    • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to analyze problems and implement effective solutions

     Preferred Skills:

    • Certification in quality assurance or food safety (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000,FSSC 22000)
    • Experience with quality management systems and auditing
    • Familiarity with Global GAP
    • Experience in BRC would be an added advantage.
