    Project Accountant, Nairobi

    Duty Station: AICHM NAIROBI.

    Closing Date: 10th November 2020

    Report to Head of Finance.

    Key Duties and responsibilities:

    • Assist in budget preparation
    • Assist in monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
    • Help the program team in finance report review against the budget and give variance explanation.
    • Ensure all timesheets are properly filled up and in time.
    • Ensure all procurements done at field level follow BMZ/AICHM guidelines and have all supporting documentation.
    • Ensure there is good recording of stocks movement in and out of store. Such stocks include farm tools, office supplies and even food for work.
    • Attend all financial &/or procurement meetings convened by BMZ/JUH in the field and share reports therefrom.
    • Review of all liguidations/accountabilities before they are submitte to AICHM Nairobi office.
    • Assist in internal and external audits
    • Review request for spending (Advance/float request) againist the budget and for accuracy before they are sent to Nairobi.
    • Assist in any cash disbursement to beneficiaries in Kakuma office.

    Requirements for Appointment:

    A candidate must have: –

    • A Degree in Accounting or Finance.
    • Certified Public Accountant qualifications Part 2 and above.
    • Two (2) years working experience preferably in an NGO
    • Hands-on experience with accounting software like Sage, Pastel and QuickBooks
    • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
    • Computer skills especially MS Excel and Word.

    Radiosonographer, Kakuma

    Duty Station: AICHM Kalobeyei/Kakuma health center

    Report to Snr. Clinical Officer

    Key Duties and responsibilities:

    • Performing ultrasound examinations to clients/patients of high diagnostic quality.
    • Verifying accuracy of patient demographic information, patient Clinical diagnosis and required technical results.
    • providing patient education inform of written or verbal explanation prior to and during the procedure in order to reduce patient anxiety and enhance comfort zone with respect to tolerance of procedure.
    • Performing abdominal and transvaginal OBS/GYN sonographic procedures according to department standards in timely and efficient manner.
    • Producing examinations that meet image quality standards in accordance to department protocols and submitting them for clinician interpretation.
    • Entering data accurately and in a timely fashion to provide optimal patient care.
    • Working closely with clinical team to achieve positive outcomes and optimal patient flow.
    • Maintaining ultrasound equipment and sterilizing room in which the procedures will take place.
    • Monitoring stock supplies in imaging room to assure their regular availability by timely ordering.
    • Perform any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned to you by the supervisor as deemed necessary.

    Requirements for Appointment: A candidate must: –

    • Be a Kenyan citizen
    • Have a Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography or Medical Imaging science from a recognized institution.
    • Have a registration Certificate issued by Radiation Protection Board of Kenya.
    • Have a valid practicing license from Radiation Protection Board of Kenya.
    • Computer Proficiency and ability to determine correct procedures and perform variety of clinical imaging.

    Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Kakuma

    Report to Head of Programs.

    Job Summary:

    M&E Officer is responsible for guiding the overall project M&E strategy and implementation of related activities within the project and undertakes timely preparation and submission of reports to the donor and other project stakeholders.

    M&E Officer will work closely with all technical coordinators to improve program quality through improved data management systems and processes, act as focal point for all project evaluations and lead the DM&E processes of organization design and gathering of evidence of programs.

    Key Responsibilities and Duties:

    • Review, analyse, and validate activities data to ensure consistency, integrity and accuracy based on project specific guidelines.
    • Preparation and submission of accurate and timely reports, to the donor and other project stakeholders Participate in project monitoring visits/forums with the SCT, other project staff, and Management.
    • Perform data entry and management including data cleaning, and archiving to support the implementation of program activities.
    • Verification of reports and data provided by Field Officers and Monitor.
    • Maintain documentation and standardizing data management procedures.
    • Ensure relevant donor data collection and reporting tools are in place and are being used correctly by staff to collect required and accurate data for project monitoring and performance.
    • Evaluations of the effectiveness of program interventions
    • Work with other technical coordinators to implement the measurement action strategy, with a focus.
    • Coordinated monitoring of project activities, ensuring that activities are carried out or as planned or adjusted/adapted as needed
    • Assessments of beneficiaries.
    • Documented processes of beneficiary needs, ensuring that tools and methodologies are appropriate.
    • Using data for decision making and action
    • Support technical coordinators in developing log frames for new project proposals, including consistency with the AICHM’s library of core outcomes and indicators
    • Any other duties deemed necessary by the supervisor.

    Minimum Qualifications and Competencies:

    • Bachelor’s degree in public health, epidemiology, surveillance, M&E, Statistics or any other proficient subject in Livelihood-related field.
    • Practical knowledge of database systems will be an added advantage; however, proficiency in MS-Office applications is a must.
    • Must have a solid understanding of health programs.
    • Minimum 3 years of experience working as an M&E Officer in public health related programs.

    • The ability to build a rapport with patients/ clients from a variety of backgrounds and communicate with their relatives and caregiver’s, Tolerance and patience, Good physical health and fitness
    • Interpersonal skills, Team working skills, Strong organizational and analytical skills.

    Nutrition Officer, Kakuma

    Report to Project Coordinator

    JOB SUMMARY

    The Health and Nutrition Officer will be responsible to activities related to nutrition, preventive health and promote positive behaviour change in the area of good health, nutrition and dietary practices for the community in Kakuma Nasinyono.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provide support in nutrition activities including screening and growth monitoring .
    • Create awareness on the importance of good nutrition practices on children and family health
    • Provide technical input on nutrition/health and hygiene training content
    • Assess dietary practices and needs within the camps
    • Identify and train community health workers/promoters to support project activities
    • Collaborate with the program staff to ensure optimal use of health and hygiene practices
    • Support the design sensitization campaigns that promote good nutrition
    • Train community health workers/promoters, and target beneficiaries on the use of good nutrition and health practices.
    • Follow up on nutrition programs and prepare reports for donors and stakeholders.
    • Participate in activity verification and monitoring (stock and program quality) at supported facilities to ensure smooth, high-quality program implementation
    • Prepare weekly and monthly workplans
    • Participate in conducting situational analysis and other M&E activities.
    • Collect and compile project data regularly, including case studies, success stories and photographs of facilities.
    • Provide regular updates on inventory of medical and non-medical items supported by the project (information / data collected through monitoring visits)
    • Ensure diagnosis and treatment of malnourished patients is based on standard procedures (national and international guidelines)
    • Ensure the community based activities such as nutrition screening, health education,EPI and defaulter tracing are done properly
    • Any other duty assigned by the supervisor.

    Qualifications:

    • A Degree or equivalent in Nutrition or Public Health.
    • Four (4) years working experience in running nutrition and health interventions
    • Experience with project planning and grant management (multiple donors)
    • Previous experience with managing nutrition programming (TSFP, OTP) is strongly recommended
    • Skilled in, and committed to, community participation/interaction.
    • Proven commitment to humanitarian and accountability principals and knowledgeable of quality assurance systems.
