    Graduate Internship Program

    About the Program:

    The Graduate Internship Program is a one-year program designed to provide guided work experience and professional development to fresh university graduates in various disciplines.

    Location:

    CFK Kenya offices in Kibera, Nairobi and other Counties as the Organization may require from time to time.

    Eligibility Criteria:

    • Bachelor’s degree (second Upper) in Project Management, Community Development, Public Health, Finance, Communication, Human Resource Management, Procurement, Law, Education, Entrepreneurship Development, Licensed Medical Practioner and related studies.
    • Fresh graduate or must have graduated within the last one year from the date of the advert.
    • Fresh graduates who are either beneficiaries of CFK’s programs or have experienced the impact of CFK’s initiatives.
    • Fresh graduates who are willing to commit their time, for an entire year, to work for CFK.
    • Fresh graduates who demonstrate desire and passion to work in informal and peri-urban settlements in Kenya.

    Mentors

    Job Description:

    The jobholder will support the implementation of processes and practices across the organization. The specific duties of a mentor to work with girls 9 – 20 years to provide mentorship and, training and counselling support to advance their social and economic well-being.

    The AGYW Program is an Adolescent Girls and Young Women’s (AGYW) program that supports girls find their sense of agency and “voice” to demand for their rights while discovering their personal leadership capabilities

    Essential Job Responsibilities

    Tasks:

    • Recruit 15 AGYW within the community
    • Offer mentorship sessions to empower mentees to solve current issues both at school, home and community and develop coping strategies for the future
    • Provide a model for a healthy, trusting relationship through clear communication and setting appropriate boundaries.
    • Conduct monthly home-visit for the target beneficiaries
    • Serve as liaison between mentees and caregivers
    • Assist in planning of major girls and women events
    • Advocate for girls’ education and girls’ rights; encourage the girls, their parents, and community members to promote girls’ education.
    • Promote girl’s self-esteem and confidence
    • Help girls cope with changes at school, at home, in the community or with their personal or physical development

    Qualifications:

    Administration Assistant

    Job Description:

    The jobholder will support the implementation of processes and practices across the organization. The specific duties of an Adminstrative Assistant include provision of front-desk service and telecommunication services.

    Essential Job Responsibilities

    • Operations:
      • Assist in filing of Administration data and reports.
      • Assist in facilitation of monthly staff trainings/meetings.

    • Reception:
      • Receiving calls and directing them appropriately.

    Qualifications:

    • At least a Diploma in Operations Management, Business Administration or an equivalent field.
    • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in front desk operations, administration, logistics or related area is required.

    IT Officer

    Job Description:

    The jobholder will support the implementation of processes and practices across the organization. The specific duties of an IT Officer include assistance in formulating IT strategy and policies, improving performance and securing compliance.

    Janitor

    Job Description:

    Radio Sonographer

    Job Description:

    The jobholder will support the implementation of processes and practices across the organization. The specific duties of a Radio Sonographer include carrying out all routine diagnostic radiographs and ultrasound at the center, Procurement of diagnostic commodities, reagents and equipment from suppliers in collaboration with the Facility Administrator.

    Essential Job Responsibilities

    Tasks:

    • To undertake initial patient evaluation, provide a range of diagnostic radiographs, perform ultrasound, doppler and ECHO examinations by capturing images of diagnostic value. on patients and produce highquality images whilst ensuring that radiation doses are kept to a minimum.
    • To provide a high standard of technique and patient positioning and ensure that standards are maintained.
    • Lead the department Quality Assurance equipment testing initiatives.
    • To develop and implement a Picture Archive & Communication system for reviewing images and reports.
    • Ensure proper documentation and management of patient’s records.
    • To develop a sound knowledge of the equipment used in order to be aware of malfunctions and errors and to report such to a Lead Radiographer.
    • To use ultrasound testing to view the fetus in the womb to determine size, weight and/or gender, along with any potential problems with the fetus.
    • To maintain daily logs of patients seen, and perform routine maintenance of machines.
    • Develop and Implement Standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the Imaging department and keep up to date with health and safety guidelines, including ionizing radiation regulations, to ensure safety of patients’ staff and self.
    • To provide support and reassurance to patients, taking into account their physical and psychological needs.

    Education:

    • Diploma or Higher Diploma in Radiology & Sonography or any other equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by the Radiation Protection Board.
    • Be a registered member of Radiation Protection Board.
    • 2 years’ experience working under a qualified Radiologist.
    • Proficiency in the use of computers and technology.
    • Excellent written and oral communications skills.

    Competencies:

    • Attention to details: able to deliver accurate amounts of radiation to patients during diagnosis and therapy
    • IT Skills: proficient in operating computerized machines such as MRIs and Ultrasound equipment.
    • Teamwork Ability: adept to working with other health professionals such as oncologists and physicians to develop treatment plans for patients.
