    Lead Researcher (Kenya) – 1 position

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Conduct literature review for the research study thelp develop children’s skills in refugee settlements and IDPs tovercome barriers in their education and make positive choices in their lives.
    • Lead and supervise a team of researchers.
    • Participate in development of tools for the research study, and ensure adherence tethical protocols.
    • Participate in designing and developing the research study specifications, activities, and documents.
    • Develop a work plan according tthe project requirements and track progress.
    • Participate in field data collection.
    • Analyze and interpret data collected.
    • Maintain and protect both hard copy and electronic databases.
    • Resolve field work conflicts with the guidance of the Project Consultant.
    • Promptly report any issues tthe Project Consultant.
    • Adhere tthe code of ethics and ensure confidentiality of information at all times.
    • Fact-check and proofread protocols, tools, and all research documents including research outputs.
    • Prepare and present progress reports.
    • Participate in project meetings, workshops, and dissemination activities as required.
    • Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Project Consultant

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Suitable candidates MUST be able tconduct literature reviews comprehensively and write good research reports with minimal supervision.
    • Master’s degree in a humanitarian and or, education field or any other related fields.
    • At least three years of experience in collecting research data using different techniques including in-depth interviews, and key informant interviews amongst others.
    • Previous research experience in refugee settlements and IDPs is an added advantage.

    Research Assistants (Kenya) – 3 positions

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Participate in the development and validation of tools for the research activity.
    • Participate in designing and developing of the research study activities and documents.
    • Participate in field data collection activities as required by project schedules.
    • Participate in field debrief sessions and raise data collection issues or challenges to inform next steps.
    • Follow a strict code of ethics and ensure confidentiality of information and informants at all times.
    • Adhere to storage guidelines of both qualitative and quantitative data.
    • Participate in project meetings, workshops, and dissemination activities as required.
    • Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Lead Researcher.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Suitable candidates MUST be able to conduct field research using a variety of methods.
    • Bachelor’s training in humanitarian and or, education field or any other related fields. A Master’s degree is an added advantage
    • At least two years of experience in collecting research data using different data collection techniques including literature review, in-depth interviews, and key informant interviews amongst others.
    • Experience in programs for refugee settlements and Internally Displaced Persons communities (IDPs) is an added advantage.
    • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
