    Internal Auditor

    Industries    Financial Services

    Specification    

    1. Conduct detailed financial, operational and compliance audits and prepare timely reports in line with the country audit work plan.
    2. Verify and report on adequate staff utilization and other resource optimization.
    3. Participate in establishing a risk- based audit plan.
    4. Review the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls within the Letshego’s functions and identify improvement opportunities.
    5. Discuss audit findings with the process owners and agree on the recommendation of improvement.
    6. Prepare a preliminary written audit report for each audit engagement.
    7. Demonstrate flexibility and takes responsibility for completing the work plan.

    Requirements    

    1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematical Sciences, Statistics, Computer Science or equivalent
    2. ACCA / CPA/ CISA/ CIMA/CFA/CIA or equivalent
    3. Member of a relevant professional body in good standing e.g. ICPAK, IIA, ISACA or equivalent
    4. At least 3 years continuous relevant experience, preferably in External Audit and/ or a financial institution.
    5. Understanding of both internal and external audit methodologies and techniques, including data analytics
    6. Demonstrated understanding of Internal Auditing Standards
    7. Understanding of Business Operating Models

    Business Development

    The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the smooth day-to-day operations at the branch, ensuring quality operations related to sales, approval and disbursement of loans.

    Specification    

    1. Formulates and aligns the branch business strategy to the Country's strategic plan.
    2. Responsible and accountable for the day-to-day running of all branch operations, including managing operational risk and credit risk.
    3. Ensures all internal policies, standards and procedures are adhered to by all branch staff.
    4. Ensures the achievement of the Country's budgets, portfolio targets and strategic plans
    5. Recommend developing operational policies, procedures, and products and services according to market requirements; stay up to date on relevant market developments and trends.
    6. Ensure world class customer service.
    7. Prepares and submits monthly pay-outs reports to Head Office for budgeting monitoring.
    8. Maintain a positive relationship with relevant stakeholders.

    Requirements    

    1. A degree in Business Management or related field
    2. At least 5 years working experience in a financial Institution at managerial level
    3. Open minded person with solid management and team working skill set
    4. Good organizational, leadership, supervisory and negotiation skills
    5. Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards
    6. Experience monitoring marketplace to identify business opportunities
    7. Effective listening, communication (verbal and written)
    8. Sound business sense, entrepreneurial thinking, and multi-functional understanding
    9. Good Understanding of operations policies and procedures.
    10. Knowledge of Customer Service Management
    11. Has Multi-cultural awareness and the ability to interact with a wide range of differing levels of staff

    Regional Head of Treasury - East Africa

    The incumbent will be responsible for directing the Treasury activities of the Countries in the Region including the effective management of the funding and liquidity, banking relations, foreign exchange and interest rate risks, trade finance, credit risk and insurance arrangements.

    Specification    

    • Defines and implements the strategies, plans, policies and procedures to manage the Treasury function of the region.
    • Implements the Group’s funding and liquidity strategy
    • Effectively manages bank and debt capital markets relationships.
    • Identifies and mitigates key Treasury risks including foreign exchange risk, market risk, counterparty risk, interest rate risk, and funding or liquidity risk.
    • Drives the improvement in the management of cash and borrowings across the region including countries without regional cash management systems.
    • Provides input into the financial risk management aspects of the commodity trading activities.
    • Manages all regional investments, day-to-day cash management, cash flow forecasting and all electronic banking systems.
    • Conducts ongoing negotiation of all regional borrowing, bank relationship management, bond raising and issuance.
    • Assesses and implements the active hedging programme in accordance with group policy
    • Establishes and develops relationships with group finance, tax, legal and other central departments.
    • Build relationships with banks and lenders, and lead the debt financing aspect of the capital structure.

    Requirements    

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or equivalent
    • Professional qualification – ACCA/CIMA would be an added advantage
    • MBA from a top-tier programme would be an added advantage
    • At least 7 years of working experience in Banking and/or development sectors within Africa, especially in the treasury function or capital markets
    • At least 5 years in a senior management role
    • Member of a relevant professional body
    • Experience in Managing multiple aspects of treasury within a financial services organization
    • Extensive experience in asset liability management, transfer pricing, developing, and executing various funding plans.
    • Multi-currency treasury management experience including experience with swaps, foreign currency contracts and other treasury instruments
    • Strong understanding of the financial markets and the required instruments
    • Extensive experience in treasury accounting including FX, liquidity, and cash flow (local and International)
    • Strong experience of hedging
    • Demonstrated experience in capital raising/financing
    • Demonstrated experience in influencing key internal decision makers including the CFO, Executive Management, Board and various lines business and appropriately create and communicate a balance of risk and return
    • Good familiarity with accounting policies and tax principles for the financial services industry
    • The candidate should possess strong verbal and written communication skills as well as effective presentation skills and the ability to express complex concepts in business terms.
