    Principal Officer; Cyber Security Architect

    DESCRIPTION

    We are pleased to announce the following vacancy in the Cyber Security Department within the Corporate Security division. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below:

    Reporting to the Senior Manager, Cyber Security Strategy & Secure by Design, the successful candidate will lend support in ensuring all new and existing systems/products/services are designed and implemented in a secure manner to avoid or mitigate any risks/security threats encountered. They are responsible for defining, analyzing and periodically reviewing the technology security strategy and roadmap based on the ever-evolving threat landscape and ensure risks identified are adequately mitigated. He/she will also architect and design cyber security systems in line with best practices to ensure they meet all requirements including adequate security, capacity and performance

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Participate in the periodically review of the cyber security strategy and roadmap considering the ever-evolving threat landscape, business and regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct research and development/security intelligence on new areas in security to input to strategy.
    • Design cyber security solutions in line with best practices to ensure deployment of best in class solutions.
    • Define cyber security requirements and acceptance criteria for new systems.
    • Participate in budget forecasting and defense of spend or business cases at CAPEX board.
    • Draft and evaluate business cases, RFIs/RFPs, conduct proof of concepts, technical evaluations.
    • Liaise with Supply Chain to facilitate procurement while ensuring cost leadership.
    • Lead in testing, implementation, deployment and commissioning of new solutions.
    • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery in accordance with best practices for solutions deployed.
    • Ensure proper change management and system handover processes are followed.
    • Manage all aspects of projects and vendor related issues in line with defined processes.
    • Recommend major upgrades where required and work with the operations team to implement.
    • Ensure all security programs are continually improved to maximize on their returns/benefits.
    • Define metrics and report periodically to clearly demonstrate return on security investment.
    • Conduct knowledge transfer to other team members/staff on new or topical areas.     
    • Cost management, reporting and presentations.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science/Information Technology.
    • Advanced Networking certifications: CCNA/CCNP/CCIE (Security option an added advantage).
    • Advanced Information Security Certifications: e.g. CISSP/CISM/CISA/OSCP/CEH.
    • At least 4 years proven experience in IT Networks and/or Systems Administration.
    • At least 2 years proven experience in implementing and administering Cyber Security solutions.
    • Working knowledge of databases, web, virtualization, microservices technologies will be an added advantage.
    • At least 2 years proven experience in projects management, leading or coordinating and managing stakeholders.

    Principal Officer; Cyber Risk Governance Security & Control

    DESCRIPTION

    We are pleased to announce the following vacancy in the Cyber Security Department within the Corporate Security division. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below:

    Reporting to the Senior Manager - Cyber Security Governance, Risk and Control, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the organization’s cyber security risks are under explicit management control and as well coordinate strategic integration of cyber security programs within Safaricom. He or she will be part of the team that drives compliance to internal and global cyber security related policies and standards, Vodafone Cyber Security Baseline controls and applicable Kenyan laws and regulations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead in continual review and update of security policies, standards and guidelines in response to the ever-changing cyber threats in coordination with Enterprise Risk Management team.
    • Drive compliance to internal and global cyber security related policies and standards, Vodafone Cyber Security Baseline controls and applicable Kenyan laws and regulations.
    • Lead in coordination of stakeholders to deliver on targets or agreed business outcomes.
    • Lead in coordination of periodic independent assurance of critical products and services.
    • Coordinating implementation of recommendations from independent assessments.
    • Lead cyber risk assessments to determine cyber risk profile and define treatment plans.
    • Recommend cyber security services improvement plans.
    • Coordinate projects handover process within the cyber security functions.
    • Continually review, implementation and improvements of the user access governance process.
    • Coordinate periodic cyber security knowledge transfer, awareness sessions and phishing simulations to staff in line with strategy.
    • Support implementation of the Managed Security Services strategy and roadmap.
    • Participate actively in cyber security events and trade shows, reporting and presentations.
    • Communications, reporting and presentations skills.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Eng./Computer Science/ Information Technology (or equivalent) from a recognized university.
    • At least one professional Information Security Qualification: CISM/CISA/CISSP/CEH.
    • At least 4+ years proven experience with Cyber Security related Standards (ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, etc.).
    • Proven experience with GDPR, Kenyan Data Protection laws, CBK guidelines on Cyber Security amongst others.
    • At least 2+ years of hands on experience in managing Cyber Security technologies and operations.

    Enterprise Process Automation and Order Management Lead

    Description

    We are pleased to announce the following Position in the Digital IT Department within the Technology Division.   In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below.

    Brief Description

    Reporting to the Tech Lead Integration & contact center planning, the position holder will be responsible for providing technical and team leadership in planning, development and delivery of Safaricom business process automations and order management. This includes but not limited to Enterprise Automation, TIBCO BPM, Oracle BPM, OMP and relevant reference data management to ensure optimal utilization to deliver value to the business. The role is not only critical to the order process but also in realization of efficiency through business process automation.

    Key Responsibilities

    • To provide technical leadership in architecting the Enterprise order management and process automation in the business by working with the relevant teams in ensuring fit for future architecture and design.
    • To lead the team in developing and/or configuring order management framework and process automations as per the enterprise needs.
    • Upgrading and migration of BPM to cloud
    • Testing and Quality management: - Ensure unit testing is done and work hand in hand with the quality team to ensure that delivered developments are working optimally as per expected standards. This includes test plan and schedule development.
    • Governance and Standardization: - Document and implement business process automation and order management development governance and standards. This include code versioning, reference data management guidelines, code review process and other related software related processes.
    • Generation of ideas to improve efficiency in product configurations, complex order configurations and development and business process automation.
    • Reporting: - Maintain reports on team delivery performance, vendor delivery performance, and development resource schedule cycle time, velocity, throughput and other relevant metrics.
    • 3nd line Support technical and team leadership: - Lead the support team in the defined domain areas in ensuring all related services and products are operationally optimal. This includes supporting 2nd line support when needed, problem resolution and bug fixing for already deployed solutions as per ITIL & ISO guidelines.
    • Lead in Supplier engagement for delivery and 3rd line support as need may arise
    • Lead in stakeholder engagement to enable indentification of business process automation opportunities and map their realization plans
    • Mentor team members to ensure optimal performance.
    • Engage the various business units heads to ensure continual adoption of automated business process and feedback for improvements.
    • Lead the team in optimal resource scheduling and allocation for delivery.
    • Lead the team in domain architecting for future proof solutions.
    • Research and development: - Take leadership in research and development including adoption of current ways of managing order fulfilments, business process automation development and delivery. E.g. agile delivery, scrum methodologies, CI/CD, and other emerging methodologies.

    Qualifications

    • 8 years’ experience in a networked and dynamic IT environment at least 5 of those should be as a senior software developer or architecture role.
    • 5 years Software development with a bias in middleware and application server platforms skills  like Tibco, oracle SOA, Jboss, Weblogic, Websphere, Glassfish, Java ,Tomcat EE & scripting skills.
    • 2 years’ experience in workflow development, BPM and order management and configuration.
    • Advanced skill in webserver administration and optimization. E.g. Apache, Apache Tomcat, Microsoft IIS or any other commercial.
    • Knowledge and experience with No-SQL, BigTable/Columnar data systems, parallel data processing, Software as a Service added advantage
