    Marine Mechanic

    The Marine Mechanic troubleshoots and repairs marine engines, waterjets, and associated systems onboard assigned vessels. 

    Principal Accountabilities

    • Troubleshoots and repairs engine equipment and systems on assigned vessels
    • Supports all vessels’ Chief Engineers or Engineers
    • Determines specific parts, supplies, and material requirements for each task
    • Conducts on-the-job training of junior or shop personnel as required
    • Supports on-land vessel dry dockings, as well as, supporting maintenance and repairs on other equipment, and systems assigned
    • Performs assigned systems tasks/efforts to include government directed work schemes under general direction
    • Ensures all work is performed in accordance with company procedures, standard operating procedures and applicable regulatory requirements
    • Assists in operation and maintenance of the syncrolift
    • Performing work on air compressors
    • Conducting of general vessel inspections
    • Ensure all tasks are preformed within the appropriate Hazmat and pollution control guidelines.
    • Maintains vessel charts and maritime publications.
    • Other duties as assigned by leadership

    Knowledge & Skills

    • Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing
    • Ability to read and understand operating manuals and/or service repair manuals written in English
    • Working knowledge on troubleshooting and overhauling diesel engines
    • Ability to read and interpret manuals, exploded view diagrams, engineering sketches, charts, and work orders
    • Accurately maintaining all required records
    • Accurately maintaining and accounting for all assigned government property
    • Previous work experience in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce.
    • Excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills.
    • Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
    • Valid country driver's license and passport.
    • Country visa (as required in line with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide).

    Experience & Education

    • Three (3) years’ experience in diesel engine repairs; prefer previous experience repairing marine diesel engines and systems
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Degree from a certified maritime vocational school or shipyard apprenticeship program preferred
    • DDEC 60 Series qualification school certificate for tear down and rebuild preferred
    • U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Marine Document (MMD) with a QMED- oiler endorsement or higher-level license preferred

    Custodial Supervisor

    The Custodial Supervisor has primary responsibility for the day-to-day operations and management of the housing and custodial infrastructure including operations and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and utilities. Ensures all site operations are in compliance with the goals of the customer and according to company policies and procedures.

    Principal Accountabilities

    (Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)

    • Establishes work requirements, coordinates, prioritizes and successfully completes short and long term projects.
    • Has oversight over Faculties Cleaning, Temporary, and Permanent Housing procedures and processes for base.
    • Manages objectives, strategy and performance through development of annual plans, budgets and short and long range plans as well as monitoring performance relative to established plans and budgets.
    • Ensures that all purchasing and inventory control for the facility is cost effective.
    • Ensures building integrity and maintenance of electrical, water, air systems and maintenance of facility grounds.
    • Oversees facility operation including general maintenance of HVAC and electrical systems and installation of customer and company mechanical/electrical solutions.
    • Provides work and service requests where required.
    • Oversees and implements all safety policies and procedures. Ensure that all safety requirements are observed.
    • Prepares and presents reports to senior management regarding the status of facilities activities, construction and/or renovation projects as required.
    • Responsible for the employment, training and performance evaluation of Facilities employees.
    • Coordinates Housing assignments with USAG-KA Representatives.
    • Other duties as assigned by leadership

    Knowledge & Skills

    Appliance Mechanic

    Principal Accountabilities

    • Supervises all maintenance operations for assigned equipment in accordance with applicable PWS, Company policies, OSHA, DOT, ANSI, ASME and applicable military regulations
    • Supervises shop foreman and mechanics to include vacation planning, discipline, conducting performance evaluations, and training
    • Establishes job priorities and estimates down time
    • Coordinates work flow for downed equipment waiting for parts to minimize backlog of work and cost to customer division
    • Provides direct support to internal/external customers to ensure compliance, tracking efficiency, burn rates, equipment usage and maximizing cost avoidance measures
    • Perform technical master journey level installation, diagnostic troubleshooting and repairs on commercial industrial-grade food service appliances, equipment, and systems; manage maintenance schedule, order and maintain inventory and stock; perform related work
    • Oversee and approve contractor work where required
    • Troubleshooting electrical, refrigeration, mechanical and plumbing problems; repair commercial cooking equipment; repairing and maintaining HVAC systems; utilizing a PM program on commercial-grade equipment; managing inventory of replacement parts, tools and supplies.
    • Provides input to management for forecasting and monitoring of the stock levels for required service/repair parts
    • Responsible for the accurate and timely submission of all required plans and reports.
    • Maintains effective lines of formal and informal communication amongst all levels of management (and the customer) as required
    • Coordinates collection and preparation of activity reports
    • Responsible to provide for and enforce guidelines to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all assigned employees
    • Monitors team development and ensures the execution of performance evaluations in accordance with DI policy
    • Conduct site visits to establish professional relationships with maintenance teams, site personnel, and the customer as needed
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    Knowledge & Skills

    • Understanding of organizational maintenance and supply concepts and procedures.
    • Understanding of maintenance production, production control and knowledge of U.S Army maintenance support systems
    • Must possess knowledge of DOT, OSHA, ANSI, ASME, Military regulations standards and OEM requirements
    • Knowledge of diagnostics and ability to conduct technical research
    • Strong understanding of Department of Defense contracting policies and procedures
    • Outstanding problem solving skills and sound judgment
    • Excellent writing, communication, leadership and interpersonal skills
    • Demonstrative proficiency in Microsoft applications
    • Must be able to meet deployment status requirements

    Experience & Education

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Two (2) years of experience in related field can be substituted for each year of the four (2) years of college
    • Prefer at least three (3) years in a maintenance supervisor environment
    • Read and understand blueprints, technical manuals and manufacturer’s files.
    • EPA Refrigerant Certification
    • Certification for commercial appliance repair

    Marine Engine Mechanic

    Principal Accountabilities

    (Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)

    • Performs maintenance, repair, and preservation of gasoline and diesel engines, 25 horsepower and above two- and four-stroke outboard engines, hydraulic systems, cargo pumps and valves, tank valves, air compressors and welding machines
    • Ensures marine operations will be conducted IAW most current U.S. Coast Guard standards, CFR 49, IMDGC, OSHA 29 CFR 1917 and 1918, ATP 4-15, and host nation standards
    • Develops fleet maintenance programs, and employee training programs
    • Ensures annual inspections are conducted on all watercraft
    • Performs preventive maintenance to include lubricating, cleaning, servicing, inspecting, and testing equipment
    • Uses manual and computerized diagnostic equipment to evaluate, troubleshoot, make adjustments and diagnose equipment malfunctions or defects
    • Repairs/replaces various parts and assemblies using mechanic power and hand tools
    • Interprets technical manuals, schematics, and blue prints to perform inspections, diagnosis, wiring procedures, and maintenance of mechanical, hydraulic, ignition, lighting, warning, and injection assemblies and component systems
    • Cleans and cares for tools, equipment and shop facilities
    • Follows safety rules and practices, and complies with Environmental standards in the performance of duties
    • Performs heavy body and sub-frame repairs and/or gelcoat, fiberglass repairs
    • Other responsibilities as assigned

    Knowledge & Skills

    • Knowledge of the principles of operation of the internal combustion engine (gasoline and diesel, two and four stroke) and other mechanical components such as brake systems (air and hydraulic), the electrical system and the hydraulic system
    • Ability to keep records and prepare written reports
    • Ability to instruct equipment operators on the application of preventive maintenance
    • Proficient English language skills, both verbal and written
    • Ability to perform mathematical calculations required on the job
    • Previous work experience in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce.
    • Excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills.
    • Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
    • Valid country driver's license and passport.
    • Country visa (as required in line with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide).

    Experience & Education

    • Five (5) years’ experience working as an industrial Mechanic on Marine power system engines
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Certifications from a related mechanical trade school
    • Possess valid Driver’s License
    • Additional experience/education may be required by contract or assignment
