    Finance Officer, Financial Reporting (Business Analyst 1) Finance Department

    Job Purpose

    • The Job holder will provide assistance in the implementation of Accounting standards, laws, and preparation of Audited Financial Statements. He/She will uphold the integrity of financial data through general ledger reconciliations and other internal controls and measures

    Key Duties and Responsibilities
    Strategic Responsibilities

    • Ensure integrity of Accounting Systems and Financial Data.
    • Provide technical assistance on Accounting matters.
    • Assist in the preparation of Audited Financial Statements.

    Technical and Operational Responsibilities

    • Reconcile imported GL files in the reporting system against third party systems on each business day and resolve any variances noted.
    • Initiate Journal entries in the systems in accordance with the laid down procedures.
    • Undertake month end closure activities as outlined in the month end closure checklist and follow up on closure of other modules before the closure of the general ledger.
    • Perform sanity checks of the trial balance.
    • Perform monthly general ledger reconciliations within the set deadlines and ensure there are no outstanding items, provide comments on any outstanding items and escalate as may be necessary.
    • Review of reconciliations from partner business areas such as Banking and Payments, Financial Markets and Currency Operations Departments.
    • Support internal and external audit exercises, action on audit issues raised and ensure they are closed promptly.
    • Process reimbursement letters and follow –up on payment in line with the laid down work policies and procedures/SLAs.
    • Prepare and monitor the departmental budget, annual procurement plan and variance reporting.
    • Assist in the preparation of the Audited Financial Statements by providing audit schedules and any other information.
    • Represent Finance Department on project teams/working parties to ensure that new products, new functionality and process improvements are correctly implemented.
    • Any other roles and responsibilities as may be assigned by the supervisor.

    Other Responsibilities

    • Assist the Deputy Manager, Financial Reporting and Manager, Financial Reporting to achieve sectional objectives.
    • Keep abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation i.e. policies and International Financial Reporting Standards and update the section leadership.
    • Assist in interdepartmental activities such as tender opening and evaluation.

    Qualifications

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Management, Economics, Finance or business related discipline from a reputable university.
    • Professional qualification(s) in accounting e.g. CPA, ACCA or equivalent.

    Work Experience

    • At least three (3) years post qualification experience in a busy Accounting related area.

    • Good understanding of International Financial Reporting standards.
    • Good understanding of Financial Reporting requirements.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft applications i.e., advanced Excel, word and powerpoint.

    Finance Officer, Financial Planning & Performance (Business Analyst 1) Finance Department

    Job Purpose

    • The Financial Planning and Performance (FPP) Officer supports Financial Planning and Performance function, ensuring alignment with the Bank’s strategic goals and compliance with regulatory standards and accounting standards. The FPP is responsible for annual budget development, training budget liaisons, and implementing management-directed changes in the budget. The Officer also generates and analyses Financial Planning and Performance reports for review, financial performance metrics to come up with Management Reports and monitors budget performance

    Key Duties and Responsibilities
    Strategic, Technical and Operational Responsibilities

    • Conduct annual training/sensitization for budget liaison officers on the budget policies, guidelines and assumptions.
    • Assist cost centers in the development of their CAPEX budgets, ensuring correct categorization and budgeting.
    • Review and consolidate the cost centers’ budget proposals and the supporting annexures.
    • Prepare documentation and participate in consultative meetings for discussing the budget proposals with cost centers.
    • Implement the changes recommended by the management untill the Final Draft is posted.
    • File and archive the budget process documents (Drafts and Notes) as required.
    • Validate the approved budget uploaded in the ERP system.
    • Ensure implementation of budget in conformity with the budget policy and guidelines.
    • Offer technical support to users in monitoring and evaluating the budget implementation.
    • Receive and maintain records of monthly variance and quarterly CAPEX reports and follow up to ensure compliance from the Departments.
    • Pass adjustments to correct variances, and other adjustments as may be needed by the Cost Centers.
    • Monitor capital expenditure projects and prepare the quarterly CAPEX report.
    • Prepare and analyze financial performance metrics, including budget variances, revenue trends, forecasts, and cost drivers.
    • Prepare the Draft-monthly Management Reports, and forward to the section’s management for review.
    • Prepare the Draft monthly report to the Foreign Reserves Investments Committee (FRIC) for review.
    • Monitor and report projects’ Financial status within the Project Portfolio Management (PPM) module.

    Stakeholder Relationship Management

    • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including internal and external auditors and respond to stakeholder inquiries and requests for financial information in a timely and professional manner.

    Systems improvement

    • Participate in the implementation of cross-functional projects related to improvement of financial planning and performance systems.

    Finance Officer, Payables (Business Analyst 1) Finance Deapartment

    Job Purpose

    Qualifications

    • Membership of ICPAK or ACCA.

    Work Experience

    Job Purpose

    • The job holder is responsible for timely and accurate inputting of supplier invoices, withholding taxes, filing withholding tax returns, reconciling payment accounts, reviewing staff expense reports, following up on staff imprests, filing and custody of payment records and responding supplier queries.
