    Senior Associate - East & Central Africa

    As a Senior Associate, you will identify and evaluate investment opportunities, conduct macroeconomic market assessments, and provide investment transaction support. We are seeking candidates with 4+ years of experience in high-calibre consulting or finance organizations. Experience working in developing countries, particularly in Africa, is highly valued. 

    Who You Are 

    • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or other relevant advanced degree/professional qualification preferred 
    • 4+ years of relevant experience in investment banking, management consulting, private equity, or similar 
    • Strong quantitative and analytical skills: able to structure problems logically and design solutions that address core issues 
    • High tolerance for ambiguity and ability to operate effectively in dynamic environments 
    • Willingness to take on new types of work, even without prior experience or direct supervision 
    • Excellent presentation and communication skills across diverse audiences 
    • Self-starter who is humble and passionate about creating lasting change in underserved markets 
    • Enthusiastic about working, traveling, and living in sometimes challenging environments 
    • Experience living and/or working in underserved or developing markets (particularly in Africa) is highly valued 

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Support and manage multiple projects, transactions, and workstreams concurrently 
    • Conduct and draft analyses including financial models, market assessments, investment memorandums, pitch decks, and macroeconomic, regulatory, and operational assessments 
    • Independently cultivate and manage relationships with investors, clients, companies, and other stakeholders 
    • Drive client workstreams directly and independently 
    • Manage entire project portfolios and make complex, value-driven decisions 
    • Mentor and develop junior staff 
    • Foster talent and encourage diversity of people and ideas across teams and the firm

    Analyst - East and Central Africa

    CrossBoundary is recruiting a full-time Analyst to join the Advisory team in Kenya. As a member of the transaction team, you will be working on impactful transactions, in addition to building CrossBoundary’s long-term presence in the region.  We are seeking candidates with 2-3 years of experience in high-caliber consulting or finance organizations. Experience working in developing countries, particularly in Africa, is highly valued.

    • Willingness to work, travel, and live in a sometimes-challenging environment 
    • High tolerance for ambiguity and an ability to operate effectively in a changing context 
    • Builds strong relationships with clients and colleagues in stressful environments 
    • Excellent presentation skills; ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse audiences 
    • Experience working with a range of stakeholders (including private equity firms, Development Finance Institutions, and development agencies) to support investments in high-impact sectors   
    • Bachelor’s degree required   

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Prepare investor documents including teasers, investment memoranda, business plans etc.   
    • Conduct research and market assessments - macroeconomic, regulatory, and operational assessments of relevant companies, industries, markets, and topics   
    • Provide sector analysis of priority areas for investment   
    • Investor sourcing   
    • Lead identification of qualified investors   
    • Manage investor relationships   
    • Develop valuation and operational financial models   
    • Coordinate due diligence and transaction execution   
    • Support with Monitoring and Evaluation activities   
    • Support organization of conferences and other networking events
