    Auditor

    The Auditor will be responsible for reviewing monthly financial reports from the country offices of Good Neighbors, ensuring compliance with organizational and donor requirements, identifying risks, and providing feedback for continuous improvement. The role requires strong technical skills in auditing and financial analysis, as well as the ability to travel abroad for on-site reviews and capacity-building support.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Review and verify monthly financial reports submitted by country offices, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with organizational policies.
    • Provide timely feedback and recommendations to country finance teams.
    • Conduct risk-based audits and financial reviews of country programs, both remotely and through field visits.
    • Assess the effectiveness of internal control systems and recommend improvements.
    • Ensure proper use of the QuickBooks accounting system and review its application across country offices.
    • Monitor compliance with donor requirements, organizational policies, and international accounting standards.
    • Prepare audit reports with clear findings, risks, and actionable recommendations.
    • Support capacity building of finance staff in country offices through training and mentoring.
    • Liaise with external auditors and ensure audit readiness of country offices.
    • Perform any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

    Required Qualifications and Experience

    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional certification (ACCA).
    • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in auditing, preferably in international NGOs or multinational organizations.
    • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with QuickBooks accounting software.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Generally
    • Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and International Standards on Auditing (ISA).
    • Proven ability to analyze financial data, identify risks, and propose corrective actions.
    • Excellent communication and report writing skills in English (French or Portuguese is an added advantage).
    • Proficiency in MS Excel and other financial analysis tools.
    • Valid passport and willingness to travel frequently across African countries.
    • High level of integrity, objectivity, and confidentiality.

    Social Economy Department Interns

    Key Responsibilities

    The Interns will work closely with the Social Economy Department (SED) and support in:

    • Work Planning: Participate in planning and supporting the implementation of incomegenerating and livelihood projects, including market-based initiatives, cooperative development, youth and women economic empowerment activities.
    • Understanding of Local Community: Understand the specific economic needs, opportunities, and challenges of the communities served and support the SED team in tailoring incomegenerating activities to the local cultural, social, and economic context.
    • Community Outreach: Support community sensitization on economic empowerment, entrepreneurship, savings, cooperative development, and sustainable livelihoods, and promote community participation in KGN income-generation programs.
    • Data Collection and Filing: Ensure accurate data collection, proper filing, and record-keeping for all income-generating activities, including beneficiary lists, attendance registers, training reports, financial support documents, and project progress records are in line with KGN filing systems.
    • Collaboration: Work closely with all departments to ensure income generation and SED goals are effectively achieved.
    • Compliance: Ensure all work and activities comply with KGN internal policies, donor requirements, and local regulations.

     Qualifications and Skills

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher-level diploma in Community Development, Economics, Development Studies, Project Management, Social Sciences, or related courses.
    • Good understanding of transparency, accountability, and professionalism in development work.
    • Strong passion and commitment to serving vulnerable and marginalized communities.
    • Basic skills in work planning, reporting, documentation, and filing systems.
    • Strong sense of time and ability to meet deadlines.
    • Result oriented mindset with strong attention to detail and quality of work.
    • High sense of responsibility and ability to work with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to cooperate effectively with diverse departments and workforce.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to maintain effective relationships with
    • community members, partners, and local stakeholders
    • Excellent in English, both oral and written.
    • Familiar with Microsoft Office software and office equipment, such as computers and printers

    Operations Manager

    Key Tasks & Responsibilities

    • Act as a central liaison, communicating project scope, objectives, and deliverables between project teams and partners.
    • Collaborate with project coordinators and different project teamsto develop comprehensive project plans, including detailed activity schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
    • Organize and facilitate regular project meetings, ensuring clear documentation and followthrough on action items.
    • Provide ongoing support and guidance to project staff, fostering successful implementation.
    • Rigorously monitor project progress, identifying potential delays or risks and proactively proposing solutions to ensure high-quality outcomes.
    • Regularly prepare clear and informative project progress reports for donors and Kenya Good Neighbors management.
    • Lead and coordinate proposal writing with relevant teams and staff members.
    • Meticulously review project-related contracts, ensuring compliance with GN Kenya standards and donor agreements.
    • Team Support
    • Offer guidance and support to KGN staff, promoting positive work and learning environments.
    • Assist team members in developing effective work plans and optimizing time management strategies.
    • Assist team members in managing project budgets including timely reporting, planning and analysis.
    • Champion the organizational policies (Code of Conduct, Safeguarding Policy, etc.) and procedures, ensuring team-wide understanding and adherence.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, International Development, Community Development or Social Sciences.
    • Master in related fields will be an added advantage.
    • At least 5 years’ relevant experience in Project Management and International Development programs.
    • At least 3 years’ experience as a Manager in program management.
    • Experience with project reporting processes and donor management.
    • Attention to details and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent in English, both oral and written.
    • Proficiency with a variety of professional software systems and office equipment.
    • Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution
