    Communications Intern

    The Communication intern shall contribute to the communication activities of 2SCALE under the direct supervision of the Anglophone Communication Specialist.

    Principal tasks and responsibilities during this period were the following:

    • Documentation of at least 2 stories from each of the 2SCALE partnerships in Kenya
    • Support the development of the Kenya contact database
    • Contribute to the consistent showcasing of social media content from 2SCALE Kenya partnerships
    • Develop and disseminate a regular stream of communication materials, documenting program progress and achievements in 2SCALE program countries. These may include, but are not limited to: - Stories from the field (i.e. success stories, case studies.)- Social media updates, Project briefs, Fact sheets, Photographs, Videos
    • Support the proper usage of 2SCALE brand assets by 2SCALE staff in Kenya
    • Contributes to the organization and preparation of external field/media events.
    • Take high-quality photos and videos of 2SCALE interventions across the partnerships

    Required Skills

    • Excellent oral, written and communication skills in English
    • Ability to critically examine and review documents
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to operate effectively in an environment with multiple stakeholders and people from different cultures and backgrounds.
    • Analytical capabilities and attention to detail
    • Ability to successfully perform multiple tasks
    • Ability and willingness to travel within Kenya
    • High level of initiative and enthusiasm, adaptability, and flexibility
    • Able to think creatively about the use of digital and visual communication

    Social Media Intern

    To be successful as a social media intern you must have excellent knowledge of various social media platforms. A good social media intern combines creative campaign ideas with analytical skills to create successful posts.

    Social Media Intern Responsibilities

    • Actively managing the company’s social media accounts like Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
    • Generating engaging content for blogs, infographics, and videos
    • Managing scheduling on content calendars
    • Brainstorming digital marketing and campaign ideas
    • Tracking user engagement and performance on various social media platforms
    • Engaging with the audience on all social media channels
    • Analysing google analytics on a weekly/monthly basis
    • Suggesting and developing ideas for social media marketing
    • Ensuring uniformity in the brand’s tone and content across all social media platforms
    • Replying to customer feedback and messages
    • Conducting online polls and surveys to ascertain the brand’s reach
    • Participating in networking events to build brand awareness
    • Updating the brand’s offerings on required platforms
    • Any other duty assigned by the supervisor and management team.

    Social Media Intern Requirements

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
    • Familiarity with handling different social media like Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
    • Knowledge of analytical tools.
    • Basic understanding of social media trends
    • Highly creative and motivated
    • Impressive oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to multitask and work under pressure
    • Ability to work collaboratively and willingness to learn new skills
    • Having a go-getter attitude
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills
    • Problem solving ability and listening skil
    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism or related field
