    Capacity Building Coordinator

    In This Role, You Will

    • Design and lead the implementation of the capacity development workplan, providing operational and technical advisory support related to capacity building and learning initiatives.
    • Streamline TJNA’s capacity development ensuring internal capacity building plans, systems and tools align with institutional strengthening plans.
    • Oversee the management of the International Tax Justice Academy (ITJA).
    • Collaborate with other TJNA departments and technical teams regularly, detecting barriers and exploring opportunities that advance shared tax education and advocacy efforts, as well as enhance member network strengthening activities to improve coordination and integration of capacity development initiatives.
    • Anticipate capacity development needs while advising on the utilization of emerging tools and innovative technologies to enrich the facilitation and training experience.
    • Coordinate on/off-line training sessions including managing smooth operation of TJNA’s learning management system.
    • Monitor, evaluate and generate periodic reporting on the impact of capacity development initiatives using data to adjust capacity development approaches where required.

    Requirements

    Qualifications

    • Minimum Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in Business Administration, Organizational Development, Psychology, Adult Education, Social Sciences, Public Administration or a related field, preferably focused on learning solutions. Masters degree is preferred.

    Core Skills and Experience

    • At least 5 years’ experience in designing, delivering, evaluating and managing learning solutions.
    • At least 3 years in an INGO/NGO, civil society organization, research institution having collaborated with government institutions, academia, and other stakeholders.
    • Excellent understanding of adult education principles.
    • Have an excellent understanding of tax and the global tax system is an added advantage.
    • Demonstrated experience in creating capacity-building plans/ curriculum and training delivery based on clear needs identification and a wide range of capacity building techniques.
    • Experience managing both online and in person training with good facilitation skills.
    • Good knowledge and experience in implementing and managing learning management systems/software.
    • Highly organized, team player with proven ability to function effectively with multiple counterparts in both the public, private and local partners.
    • Good project management skills, able to produce well-written reports, meet deadlines, keen attention to detail.
    • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
    • Proven experience in planning and budgeting.
    • Personable, flexible and an analytic thinker.

    About The Communications Officer Roles

    We are seeking three incredibly talented, skilled and self-driven individuals to fill our Communications Officers positions in the following communications roles:

    • Communications Officer (Content and Media Relations): Write and disseminate TJNA publicity material, build and maintain relationships with leading media.
    • Communications Officer (Digital and Multimedia): Develop, propose and implement plans to build engagement, visibility and following across TJNA’s digital channels.
    • Communications Officer (Stakeholder Engagement & Outreach): Drive and develop creative ideas for strategic stakeholder engagement to advance wider tax justice outreach including event management and marketing communications.

    Each Communications Officer plays a key role in the implementation and success of TJNA’s communications strategy, advancing TJNA’s visibility and advocacy agenda. As a Communications Officer, you will work collaboratively across TJNA’s departments, with member organizations and relevant stakeholders in support of our advocacy objectives as outlined in our 2021 – 2025 Strategic Plan.
