The Role

An able, well-qualified and inspiring Teacher of Art is required to lead this very successful and innovative department from September. The department consists of two teachers who work in newly refurbished studios with the support of a technician.
We are looking for applicants who relish the opportunity to work with bright, ambitious and well-motivated students. Applicants must demonstrate an ability to relate to young people together with a genuine, academically well-grounded enthusiasm for the subject. Applicants should endeavour to inspire students to develop high standards of scholarship through innovative, clearly focused and responsive teaching, which goes the extra mile, and encourages students to do the same.

St Andrew’s has a history of producing some outstanding artists, with 60% of A Level students achieving an A* in 2021. The successful candidate will be well supported as they look to maintain the high standards and profile that have been built up over the years.

All staff are involved in the wider life of St Andrew’s, including the School’s vibrant co-curricular and boarding programmes; an ability to contribute to these would be  advantageous.

The Role

St Andrew’s Prep School is seeking to appoint a part-time Teacher of English for Key Stage 2 and 3. Please state other subjects. The successful candidate will be expected to provide the very best academic teaching and learning opportunities for each student in their class and be responsible for the pastoral welfare and safety of the pupils. St Andrew’s Prep School follows the British Curriculum, with the aim to achieve excellent value-added for each child through outstanding teaching and learning.

St Andrew’s Prep School is committed to providing a vibrant co-curricular and boarding program to which all staff contribute. The ability to coach sports will be an added advantage. The suitable applicant may also have the following opportunities: Boys boarding houseparent, teaching in the Learning Success Centre and Equestrian.

There are some things that are essential to working with us:

1. The successful candidate will need to be able to support the School’s aims and Christian ethos. They will have to have a good degree as well as a recognized teaching qualification, such as PGCE, and of course, the relevant experience.
2. Beyond that we want to have staff who love working as part of a team; who are first class communicators and who are passionate about the subjects and the pupils they teach; who are creative and diligent in their planning; who are adaptable, energetic and resilient.
3. Experience of working in a Prep School, or in boarding would be desirable, but not essential. Above all, what matters is a commitment to help us provide a worldclass education for our pupils.
