Duties and Responsibilities

• This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will entail accessioning, stamping and labeling acquired information resources, shelving and shelf arrangement, charging and discharging library resources, and pasting date-due labels. The officer will prepare file pockets and press cuttings, undertake spine marking and fixing of book jackets, list materials for binding, and file catalogue cards.

Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade a candidate must have:

• Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Library and Information Science, Library and Information Studies, Library, Archives and Records Management or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; and,
• Certificate in computer application skills.
