    Engineering Manager, Markets

    What you’ll do:

    • Bring together a full-stack team of Backend, Frontend, QA and SDETs to continually deliver on market initiatives with quality
    • Own initiatives across squads to successfully deliver customer impact
    • Continually improve the relationship and integration with our third party partners
    • Contribute to the Engineering roadmap and help set the vision for the group
    • Mentor and grow Engineers
    • Direct reports performance management.
    • Partner with Program Management  to continually improve the SDLC and development processes
    • Partner with Product Management to improve requirements gathering and Engineering’s understanding of what needs to be built
    • Evaluate technical designs

    Qualifications:

    • 5+ years as an IC Engineer in Java, Scala, PHP, Go, Python
    • 5+ years directly managing Software Engineer FTEs
    • Delivered  cross-functional products in a timely manner
    • Worked with stakeholders to deliver on definitions of doneDeep experience building complex, scalable backend systems
    • Have implemented and are familiar with RESTful API implementation, SOA and microservices
    • Knowledge of RDBMS and NoSQL databases (including best practices around design and modeling)
    • Experience using open source technologies
    • Experience utilizing AWS
    • Excellent mentoring skills
    • Ability to partner with non-technical business peers in meetings and working sessions.
    • Demonstrated strong commitment to testing methodologies and maintainable code quality
    • Strong communication and cooperation skills
    • Experience with agile software development methodologies
    • Experience working in and managing distributed teams
    • Technical aptitude for understanding complex distributed systems
    • Knowledge about common design patterns.

    Site Operations Director

    What You’ll Do

    • Drive a culture of customer centricity and operational excellence for Tala KE.
    • Manage teams to achieve KPI goals for Recoveries (recovery rate, cure rate) and CX (first reply time, CSAT, KYC TAT) across internal team and external agencies, including QA adherence.
    • Manage growth planning, hiring, staffing, scheduling, personnel development, succession planning, compensation and incentives within cost boundaries, collaborating closely with support teams (HR, IT, Finance).
    • Align and coordinate day to day operations between each sub-department to generate operational synergies and drive improvements.
    • Assess, test, and implement improved processes and new technologies in collaboration with other teams.
    • Create an environment of process excellence, with controlled, measurable, sustainable  processes that enable your teams to handle volume and complexity changes, including successfully executing on tests, experiments, and improvement strategies with team of analysts and managers.
    • Build KE strategic operations roadmap and prioritization based on local and global initiatives.
    • Identify the root cause of issues impacting results, communicate tradeoffs/risks for different solutions, and lead implementation of improvement programs. 
    • Foster an environment that encourages employee participation, engagement, teamwork and communication.
    • Ensure employees and processes are compliant with all country laws and regulations.
    • Define and monitor crisis management plan, including emergency procedures for Recoveries and CX.

    What You’ll Need

    • Business related degree.
    • Project management skills.
    • Master’s degree is an added advantage.
    • 10+ years of experience in customer experience, debt collection and contact center related work.
    • 5+ years management experience, matrix management experience is preferred.
    • Experience managing a dynamic network of partners, service providers, companies/agencies.
    • Experience in delivering improvements in operational efficiency. 
    • Measurable impacts to KPIS in previous work.
    • Strong alignment with customer centric approaches and best practices.
    • Working experience in financial services is an added advantage

    Senior Project Manager

    What you’ll do

    • Support the delivery of products and initiatives using Agile practices and by serving as ScrumMaster for assigned teams. 
    • Participate in quarterly planning and bi-weekly reviews for the squad he/she/they supports as well as continuous reporting and unblocking. 
    • Organize roadmaps, timelines and review meetings for broad consumption.
    • Support a culture of continuous learning through the establishment of consistent retros, post-mortems, and team health metrics.
    • Provide input into resource planning and allocation in coordination with the PMO lead. 
    • Develop a strong understanding of context (across markets) of our internal tools to optimize for efficiency, productivity, and team morale.
    • Be the team champion to ensure team alignment, advocate product and be the subject matter expert for our internal tools.

    Qualifications

    • 2-3 years of Project Management experience with proven expertise in Agile methodologies, concepts, practices, and standards.
    • 2+ years experience leveraging software development and team collaboration tools like JIRA, Confluence, Smartsheet, etc.
    • Checked ego, humble, empathetic, collaborative, service-oriented attitude of “customer first”.
    • Must have strong communication skills – role will be responsible for intra-team and inter-team communication, as well as status reporting and risk event updates, so candidates must have strong written and verbal english skills.
    • Practical experience working at start up pace with heavy virtual communications.
    • Flexibility to respond to changing requirements and juggle multiple responsibilities.
    • Must be comfortable working both as part of a team and independently – includes ability to set priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities and follow through on assignments with minimal direction. This role requires high EQ, comfort in taking ownership, and the ability to understand when escalation is needed.
    • Proven ability to coach and mentor others who are learning project management and Agile practices in a replicable, scalable way
    • Experience managing technical programs and projects for distributed teams across multiple locations and countries is a plus.
    • Experience in managing mobile app development, full stack software development projects in CICD environment, integration with third party APIs. Experience in managing other technical areas, such as BI, Data Engineering, IT are nice to have.
