    MBA fellow - Strategic Finance

    About the role

    We are looking for an MBA fellow who is passionate about finance to support us in developing our finance strategy. You will be working directly with our CEO, COO and our finance manager. You will be working on topics like our Series A fundraise, our working capital strategy, identifying key financial controls, etc. This is a great role for someone looking to grow into a CFO role, VP of Strategy, or Chief of Staff at a startup, or to expand skills for a role at a VC.

    Depending on time that you join, responsibilities may include:

    • Define a strategy for working capital that ensures that holding inventory does not become a balance sheet constraint
    • Review our financial model for fundraising and improve it based on best practice
    • Provide input on our fundraising strategy based on financial needs (incl. debt vs equity investors)
    • Identify key financial risks of the company and work with the teams to implement mitigations
    • Set up financial controls for some of these risks

    Who you are

    We are looking for someone who has:

    • Excellent financial modelling skills, going beyond merely P&L to also include working capital, CAPEX, etc.
    • In-depth understanding of Venture Capital (either from start-up or investor side of things)
    • Excellent communication skills (especially written)
    • Is quick to understand strategy and ability to participate in strategic discussions
    • Ability to recognize financial risks in the company and develop mitigation plans
    • Experience with fundraising on the African continent

    MBA fellow - Product & Growth

    About the role

    We are looking for MBA fellows to support new product development and roll-out. Opportunities for this are working on our new business unit 'Hungry Mama', structuring and scaling our Buy Now Pay Later product, or even focus on products that can make internal operations smoother and more efficient. We are looking for someone to take full ownership of any of these projects and can work with both the people involved in the day-to-day, as well as the other stakeholders involved. You will be working closely with our CEO and the Product team. This is a great role for someone looking to grow into a Head of Product, Head of Growth, Special Projects, or Chief of Staff role.

    Responsibilities will vary depending on the project that we agree on. Example responsibilities if you would be leading the Hungry Mama business unit scale-up are:

    • Determine the requirements and make a plan for reaching 200 franchisees by the end of the year
    • Productize the proposition and standard operating procedures so that this becomes scalable
    • Create all dashboards and determine KPIs for scale-up of the business unit
    • Onboard new customers to the franchise
    • Help build the team that will take over from you at the end of the internship
    • Combine all learnings into a roll-out playbook and hand this over to the team

    Who you are

    For any Product & Growth project, we are looking for someone who has:

    • Excellent project management skills
    • Be adept at the test & learn approach - test hypotheses rapidly, capture learnings and incorporate these in a next iteration
    • Be pragmatic and thorough in documenting SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
    • Have a good understanding of our target customers (SME business owners, restaurants)
    • Have excellent data & analytics skills - advanced excel skills and experience with BI tooling are a must
    • Be able to translate customers’ needs and behaviors into product requirements
    • Excellent communication skills, especially written
    • Experience leading the roll-out of a new business unit
