    Management Data Analyst

    Duties

     

    The incumbent is responsible for the data analytics of the Management Section. He/She will serve as Mission Kenya’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) subject matter expert (SME). The SME maintains the most up-to-date and in-depth knowledge and analysis on government ERP systems in order to inspect, clean, transform and model data with the goal of discovering useful information to support sound decision-making. The Management Data Analyst reports to an Information Management Specialist in the Information Programs Center (IPC).

    Qualifications and Evaluations

    Requirements:


    EXPERIENCE:  

    2 years of proven Administrator working experience in either Data Analysis, Business Process Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Quality Management, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Inventory Management, Project Management is required. Experience utilizing business intelligence tools such as Power BI and Tableau along with proficiency in data sciences oriented programming languages such as Python or R.

    JOB KNOWLEDGE:

    Must have comprehensive knowledge of ERP systems to provide detailed and satisfactory services to IRM clients.  Must have substantial knowledge of using analytical methods involving the use of qualitative and quantitative techniques for metrics analysis. Must be proficient with data analysis and telecommunications technology using industry and or proprietary tools for managing projects.  Must be abreast with industry changes and be prepared to quickly learn new technological initiatives as they emerge.

    Education Requirements:

     

    College diploma or Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Technology (IT), Business Management, or Administration

    Computer Programmer

    Duties

     

    The position incumbent designs and develops both new and enhancements to software applications and business process solutions that meet Mission Nairobi's specifications. This will be done utilizing the Department of State approved business applications such as Microsoft Forms, Power Automate (formerly Flow), PowerApps, PowerBI and Tableau. Additionally, responsibilities include providing Tier II and III level application support to customers, which includes users and IT specialists. This includes, but is not limited to, installations, quality assurance, and problem resolution tasks for enterprise applications. Position will be supervised by an Information Management Specialist in the Information Programs Center (IPC).

    Qualifications and Evaluations

    Requirements:

     

    EXPERIENCE: Five years of dedicated experience as an application developer or computer programmer at a medium to large-sized firm is required

    JOB KNOWLEDGE:  User support experience in assisting and training personnel in network applications. Business analysis and user requirements gathering. Experience with Visual Studio IDE and programming skills in .NET, C# and/or VB. Experience creating web user interface using ASP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and JQuery. Experience with database development, SQL and ORM technologies. Microsoft SharePoint configuration and customizations including other Microsoft cloud and data mining products.  

    Education Requirements:

    Bachelor’s Degree in the field of computer science, computer languages, or software application development

    SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  Strong prioritization and decision making skills with sound judgment. Strong communications skills with the ability to interpret and/or discuss information with others so as provide advice and recommendations involving somewhat complex issues. Range of technical abilities to independently understand and resolve routine and non-routine software/hardware issues. Good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.

    General Maintenance Worker (KISUMU)

     Job Description

    Duties

    Basic Function of Position  

    Working in the Facility Management section of the Embassy, the General Maintenance Worker carries out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and minor repair work on the plumbing system and fixtures, general welding and masonry work in all mission buildings and facilities including residential owned and leased properties.

    Qualifications and Evaluations

    Requirements:

    EXPERIENCE:  

    A minimum of three (3) years of experience in the repair and maintenance of plumbing and commercial or industrial HVAC/mechanical heating, refrigeration and ventilation systems is required.

    JOB KNOWLEDGE:

    • Maintenance and repair of standard plumbing methods and techniques including potable water and sewage systems, motor starters, thermostats, humidistats, variable frequency drive (VFD) motors and controllers, gravity dampers, sensors, furnaces, hydronic systems, hot water heaters and heat pumps, evaporators and condensers.
    • Minor component replacement of motors, valves, pumps, controls and recording instruments
    • Plumbing system testing procedures in control devices to monitor, diagnose faults, determine current operating capacity to the design requirements, all in accordance with US and host country regulations.
    • Maintenance and repair using industry aligned techniques and procedures for the modification and fabrication of various types of metal and alloy parts and equipment by use of electric and gas welding processes.
    • Maintenance and repair using industry aligned techniques and procedures involved in laying a variety of brick, block, stone and concrete in the construction or repair of such items as partitions, walls, walkways and roadways.
    • Reading and working from sketches, architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, schematics, one-line diagrams and material lists

    Education Requirements:

    Mandatory:

    Completion of secondary school is required and/or completion of vocational training from an accredited institute recognized as awarding a Trades Certificate in a general construction field is required.

    Evaluations:

    LANGUAGE:  

    English level II (Limited knowledge) Reading/Writing/Speaking is required. (This may be tested)

    SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Must be able to identify problems or dangers, report issues and provide solution.
    • Must be able to work as part of a team, work under pressure and a tight schedule.
    • Must have flexible approach to work shifts and answer emergency calls at all hours.
    • Must have a valid driver's license Class B, C, E.
