    Analyst - Management Information

    Description

    We are pleased to announce the following Vacancy in DigiFarm. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below.

    Brief Description

    Reporting to the Senior Manager – DigiFarm Operations, the position holder to develop and enhance the use of automated reporting, insights, business intelligence, analytics systems and tools within DigiFarm.

    Detailed Description

    • Conduct end to end business performance analysis by sharing reports and daily / weekly / monthly and as required.
    • Carry out deep dive into the business performance and sharing strategic recommendations based on insights.
    • Track field activities based on the farmer milestones such as farmer recruitment, geotagging, input distribution, harvesting and aggregation to drive accountability within the different teams.
    • Provide a robust decision support mechanism for the business through analytics and development of decision-making models.
    • Work with business analytics team in the development of dashboards that are insightful to the business including their automation.
    • Liaison with data scientists’ teams to develop and make use of machine learning for automated, efficient and faster decision making for the business.
    • Lead teams in development and execution of insights led improvements s within the business intelligence and analytics system.
    • Enhance the use of business intelligence and analytics used by the business by critically evaluating it is current usage versus the business requirements for transaction processing and report writing.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Economics / Statistics or Actuarial science.
    • 3 -6 years’ experience in a Telcom business environment, business intelligence tools with huge reporting requirements.
    • Accounting or Data analytics certification will be an added advantage

    Specialist Services Lead

    Description

    We are pleased to announce the following vacancy in the DigiFarm Kenya Ltd. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below.

    Brief Posting Description                     

    Reporting to the General Manager, the position holder will be an advisor and will provide specific information to the business on the policies, regulations and governance pertaining to different value chains within the Agricultural sector as well as manage the extension and quality assurance services.

    Job Responsibilities               

    • Provide advisory services on policies and regulations implemented in different value chains within the Agricultural sector.
    • Providing technical leadership and guidance on matters pertaining to both local trading and export certification, seed certification and plant variety protection.
    • Provide advisory on pests and diseases that affect different value chains. Facilitate in identification of pests and diseases.
    • Provide advisory on various standards & controls expected on various inputs e.g. seeds, fertilizers, chemicals etc required for different value chains
    • Provide guidance on field inspections and audits for market compliance.
    • Provide leadership in facilitating inspection of DigiFarm buyers for compliance to import and export requirements.
    • Provide guidance and participate in inspection of containment facilities.
    • Manage all extension services and quality assurance services

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, plant pathology, biotechnology, entomology, crop protection, molecular biology, seed science, Horticulture, Agronomy, Botany or its equivalent from a University recognized in Kenya.
    • MSC in plant pathology, biotechnology, entomology, crop protection, molecular biology, seed science, Horticulture, Agronomy, Botany or its equivalent from a University recognized in Kenya will be an added advantage.
    • Five (5) years relevant experience in a similar or strongly similar role.
    • Proficiency in Training & development facilitation, evaluation skills and techniques 
    • Basic understanding of the Kenyan market, subscriber preferences and subscriber trends
    • Attention to detail with good organizational, planning, report writing and presentation skills.
    • Proactive, confident, energetic with the ability to work under pressure, to tight schedules/deadlines and monitor and follow up on all actions taken.

    Manager; Quality Assurance

    Description

    We are pleased to announce the following vacancy in DigiFarm Kenya Ltd. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below.

    Brief Posting Description                     

    Reporting to the Specialist Services Lead, the position holder will be responsible to assess, administer and manage quality standards across all DigiFarm touch points, support the sectional managers within the divisions in gap identification and make recommendations to improve customer experience.

    Job Responsibilities                

    • ·Provide advice for the overall day to day operations, management and maintenance of post-harvest activities such as storage
    • Provide advice on how to monitor quality and handling including testing, weighing and maintaining of grain quality
    • Provide advice on management of security, handling, bagging, loading of grain on site, storage process, procedures of grain within the storage site
    • Lead, develop and manage the standard operating procedures (processes and systems) for the grain warehouse
    • Provide direction on effective and efficient coordination of the logical movement of grain into and out of the warehouse with proper documentation
    • Facilitate oversight for ensuring inventory is stored appropriately to ensure safety and quality standards
    • Facilitate the process of periodic quality controls and checks of stock including testing, weighing and fumigation
    • Develop and facilitate the training of farmers on grain quality matters to ensure consistency in quality standards
    • ·Improve operational efficiency by optimally managing the clearing and forwarding processes, lead times from the country of collection to destination against agreed KPI’s.  Review and implement value creation ideas for continuous improvement in the logistics chain
    •  Capture any costs arising from demurrage charges and penalty and allocate responsibility for recovery

    Qualifications

    • Five (5) years relevant experience in a similar or strongly comparable role.
    • A bachelor’s degree in agricultural business, food science, animal science, poultry science or other related field is required.
    • Must be analytical and have excellent written and verbal communication skills (articulate), coupled with good listening and critical reasoning skills and ability to provide constructive feedback.
    • Must possess excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
    • Attention to detail with good organizational, planning, report writing and presentation skills.
    • Strong awareness of market trends, competitive impacts and market opportunities
    • Knowledge and experience in Imports and Exports market is an added advantage
