    Programmatic – Monitoring & Evaluation Expert

    Summary of scope

    As part of our various mandates and member of a multi-disciplinary team, you will contribute to the evaluation and monitoring of health programs financed by various donors in terms of monitoring and evaluation (performance evaluation and monitoring, verification of programmatic aspects, design and implementation of surveys and epidemiological studies, site visits to implementing entities, data collection, interviews with patients, health care providers and other stakeholders, drafting of comprehensive statistical and analytical reports from major studies or ongoing projects, providing expertise in the design, management and evaluation of study protocols and health status questionnaires, sample selection and analysis).

    To best fit into our active, interdisciplinary team we are looking for candidates with:

    • Minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience in the health sector with expertise and knowledge in monitoring and evaluation procedures and approaches; performance evaluation of health programs and systems and programmatic reviews; in-depth epidemiological knowledge (survey protocol, report analysis) and interventions related to the fight against HIV/AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis and any other disease, including knowledge of vaccination;
    • Advanced degree (minimum Master's level required) in epidemiology, medicine and/or statistics. A degree in public health is an asset;
    • Professional experience and knowledge of the health sector in Kenya both required;
    • Strong professional oral communication and writing skills, including the development of reports, oral presentations, and technical/persuasive documents.
    • Ability to perform epidemiological and statistical analyses on data and prepare results for review;
    • Excellent command of English (speaking & writing) required AND a local language (Swahili) an asset
    • Team spirit and initiative, ability to work with professionals of different expertise in a multicultural context;
    • Good command of IT tools (in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), the Internet and statistical software such as Stata 13, SPSS, Epi info, CSPro, etc.

    An initial contract of two years will be offered with possibility of renewal based on performance.

    Procurement and Supply Management Expert – Health Products

    Tasks:

    Assess systems for the management of health and non-health products (procurement, storage, distribution and information systems, etc.) for different donors; review of quantification and specifications of pharmaceuticals and health and non-health products and equipment to be procured

    To best fit into our active, interdisciplinary team we are looking for candidates with:

    • Formal qualification in pharmacy (Master degree level) required.
    • A postgraduate training in PSM of health products, logistics and/or public health, or a MBA is an asset.
    • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in managing or advising on the procurement, supply and use of health products, particularly in developing countries with expertise in:
    • assessing policies, systems and structures in the public and/or private health sector relevant for managing effective and efficient access to pharmaceuticals and other health products, particularly for AIDS, TB and malaria;
    • the procurement of health products including regulations and tendering process;
    • supply chain/logistics management systems and related information systems;
    • quantification and forecasting of health product needs in public health programs;
    • a good understanding of AIDS, TB, malaria market dynamics and existing global supply challenges as well as international health products procurement and supply management practices, applicable national and international laws and recognised standards
    • strong professional oral communication, writing and analytical skills, including the development of reports, oral presentations, and technical/persuasive documents; strong interpersonal skills, diplomacy and tact to effectively communicate with senior-level officials
    • Minimum of 8 years of management experience, preferably in the health sector with:
    • strong project management and team management skills, ability to prioritize tasks and meet multiple deadlines in complex environment; an in-depth knowledge of issues relating to project management in developing countries;
    • ability to attract and acquire short term mandates with different donors
    • Excellent command of English (speaking & writing) required AND a local language (Swahili) an asset
    • Knowledge and experience in health product management and supply chain in Kenya mandatory
    • An initial contract of two years will be offered with possibility of renewal based on performance.
