    Capacity Building Manager - Anticipated Award

    The Capacity Building Manager would play a leadership and oversight role of program training and capacity building activities and would report directly to the lead staff member of RefuSHE’s community outreach programming. S/he would oversee the work of 2-3 program staff members. His / her responsibilities would be split between training development and coordination and ensuring the seamless management of partner activities. S/he would be the lead coordination role of the training activities of RefuSHE and its two subgrantees on the program, should it be awarded. We are looking for a candidate with 8 or more years of experience leading training and capacity building activities among community-based organizations and/or individuals, demonstrated capacity to work across departments and organizations, and strong capacity to manage and adhere to a program work plan. S/he should possess a strong initiative and problem-solving skills, high energy, and flexibility.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee program training activities, including developing and modifying training activity schedules, ensuring coordination among all partner and staff on training activities, alerting management to major adjustments to training calendar, and problem-solving to ensure all training activities take place in a timely manner.
    • Oversee training activities among subgrantees and ensure compliance with program workplan.
    • Work with technical experts in GBV and child protection to develop training manuals and ensure the institutionalization of technical knowledge for RefuSHE, CBOs, and community committees.
    • Oversee and evaluate the work of technical training specialists in child protection and GBV.
    • Meet weekly with program leadership to keep them apprised of program activity scheduling, challenges, changes, and other areas as they arise, as well as notify them of upcoming program needs and deliverables.
    • Liaise at least weekly and more often, as needed, with subgrantee team leads, who oversee their own teams that will support the implementation of this program.
    • With support of Program Assistant, ensure logistics support the program training activities.
    • In collaboration with the Community Outreach team lead, identify internal RefuSHE resources, for example the Legal and Advocacy Manager or Mental Health Manager, whose expertise is needed for a particular activity or training, or existing external relationships to leverage to ensure the success of an activity.
    • Ensure delivery and impact are monitored and reports prepared for decision making.
    • Work in collaboration with Finance Department to establish budget and monitor the expenditure of capacity building costs.
    • Operate in compliance with legislatives and best practices in communities’ capacity building.
    • Any other lawful duties that may be assigned to you by your supervisor.

    Qualifications and Competencies

    • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field from a recognized and reputable institution is required.
    • At least 5 – 8 years of experience in capacity building and/or training, program management, community-based activities.
    • Must have experience leading trainings and developing training manuals.
    • Must have experience developing and managing program work plans and have strong templates, modalities, and ideas to bring to the position immediately upon hire.
    • Demonstrated experience working across teams, departments, and organizations, and ability to lead all relevant stakeholders to consensus in an efficient manner.
    • Comfortable and experienced working in fast-paced environments with tight timelines and little room for error.
    • Proficient in program monitoring and reporting, such as data collection, writing, etc.
    • Experience working with highly vulnerable populations; experience working with refugees, conflict and post-conflict communities is an added advantage.
    • Ability to remain flexible in a dynamic environment.
    • Strong writing abilities for training manuals and program reports.

    Program Assistant

    The Program Assistant role will provide overall program administration support to the program team, to include but not limited to: schedule and manage meetings, take meeting notes, disseminate weekly training schedules, facilitate program logistics and facilitate smooth coordination between departments and subgrantees. The Program Assistant may also support with the collection of supporting program financial documents. Strong organizational, co-ordination, communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills will be critical to success in this role.

    This is an entry level position and provides administrative and programmatic support for the program team ensuring the program runs smoothly to achieve its objectives.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support the Capacity Building Manager in ensuring overall smooth functioning of program activities
    • Provide a bridge for the RefuSHE program team and subgrantee program teams
    • Support the development and monitoring of calendar of weekly program activities, reschedule as necessary and ensure dissemination of the same to all organizations and stakeholders
    • Support in event planning, including logistics, invites, invitees, RSVPs, etc.
    • Schedule and manage program meetings across departments, partners, subgrantees and other stakeholders. Take notes during meetings, disseminate the same and make follow ups for implementation of agreed action items.
    • Assists in monitoring project spending and projecting costs.
    • Assists in organizing information for program reporting and presentations
    • Updates program databases and procurement trackers
    • Tracks and follows-up on pending procurement requests, approvals and monitoring once approved.
    • Act as a liaison between other departments and programs.
    • With direction from Capacity Building Manager, facilitate program logistics for timely implementation of activities
    • Perform clerical duties for the program team such as data entry, proof reading documents, photocopying, binding, scanning, filing, and mailing.
    • Support in the collection and submission of program activity receipts and other financial supporting documents to the RefuSHE finance team
    • Any other lawful duties as may be assigned by your supervisor.

    Qualifications and Competencies

    • Degree in Project Management or related degree from a recognized institution.
    • At least 1-3 years’ experience in implementing similar projects.
    • Budgeting and procurement experience preferred.
    • Good command of English both oral and written.
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Good working experience in MS Office suite.
    • Good report writing and presentation skills.
    • Ability to multitask on demanding roles.
    • Good problem-solving and analytical skills
    • Good planning and coordination skills, with the ability to organize a substantial workload comprised of complex and diverse tasks.

    GBV Training Officer

    The Gender Based Violence (GBV) Training Officer would be responsible for all capacity building trainings related to gender-based violence prevention and response. S/he should be an experienced technical expert in gender-based violence prevention and response, and be comfortable leading trainings to community-based organizations and other community level structures. S/he should have ample experience leading capacity building trainings, developing curriculum, and working on training-focused programming.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead all program training activities to community-based structures related to gender-based violence prevention and response
    • Develop high quality training curriculum on GBV
    • Participate in and/or lead community events that create awareness of or address GBV
    • Lead the capacity building assessment for community-based structures as it relates to GBV understanding, knowledge, and gaps
    • Coordinate across teams and organizations to develop and implement GBV training schedule
    • Provide technical assistance as new gaps in GBV understanding emerge among community-based structures
    • Participate in periodic, multi-disciplinary program reviews to identify challenges, opportunities, and needs of the program as it relates to GBV training and knowledge sharing
    • Support the adherence to relevant monitoring and compliance mechanisms, including SOPs, contribution to the PSEA monthly reports

    M & E Officer

    The M&E Officer would be responsible for all data monitoring and reporting for the program. In collaboration with the larger M&E team, s/he would develop the program M&E plan and effectively manage the plan through the program lifecycle. S/he would lead all program data collection, cleaning, storage, analysis, and reporting. S/he would be an effective team player capable of working closely with the grants team, program team, and M&E team within RefuSHE as well as M&E teams of partner organizations to ensure full data is provided to the funder. Finally, s/he would lead quarterly program reviews with a multidisciplinary team. We are looking for an experienced M&E professional who is a self-starter, curious, strives for excellence, highly driven, and passionate about data, with a strong commitment to data integrity and excellency.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead all M&E activities for the new program, including but not limited to: overseeing and leading data collection, data cleaning, ensuring data quality, tracking the progress of activities against timelines and outcomes against targets, alerting program leadership in advance of potential risks to not achieving intended program outcomes and targets, leading data analysis and reporting.
    • In close collaboration with the M&E team and program team, including subgrantees, lead the development of a program M&E plan, including SMART indicators, baselines, and achievable and ambitious targets.
    • In collaboration with M&E team and subgrantees, develop data collection tools for the program.
    • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data from program and synthesize findings into well-written English for internal and external reports, presentations, etc.
    • Work closely with the M&E team members from subgrantee / partner organizations to regularly collect data on partner activities. In partnership with Capacity Building Manager, ensure these align with overall program approach, work plan, and M&E plan. Develop process for partner organizations’ data collection and sharing with the RefuSHE program team and donor.
    • Lead quarterly program reviews for the consortium to collectively review and verify monitoring data collected on a quarterly basis, identify challenges and lessons learned in implementation, and how these findings may guide the next quarter’s planned activities. Work closely with Capacity Building Manager, Program Assistant, and program leadership to structure these reviews to ensure maximum learning and dissemination of findings for follow-up action.
    • Ensure any disparities between planned and actual outputs and outcomes are raised with senior leadership and addressed promptly.
    • Any other lawful duties as assigned by your supervisor.

    Qualifications and competencies

    • Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Program Management, or other relevant field from a recognized and reputable institution is required
    • At least 3 – 5 years of experience in humanitarian aid program monitoring and evaluation
    • Demonstrated experience working across departments / offices to streamline M&E processes, ensure timely and accurate data collection, dissemination of findings, and program and donor reporting. Experience working across partner organizations to do the same is an added advantage.
    • Strong skills in quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills
    • Experience leading the development of a program M&E plan, including SMART indicators and targets, in a collaborative manner
    • Experience writing donor reports and leading presentations
    • Strong English writing and speaking skills for external deliverables such as reports and presentations (donors, partner organizations, government entities, etc.)
    • Comfort in using web-based tools for data collection, monitoring, and analysis. RefuSHE uses an M&E software for all programs and the M&E Officer will be required to use the same after comprehensive training.

    Child Protection Training Officer

    The Child Protection (CP) Training Officer would be responsible for all capacity building trainings related to child protection. S/he should be an experienced technical expert in child protection and be comfortable leading trainings to community-based organizations and other community level structures on this topic. S/he should have ample experience leading capacity building trainings, developing curriculum, and working on training-focused programming.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead all program training activities to community-based structures related to child protection
    • Develop high quality training curriculum on child protection
    • Participate in and/or lead community events that create awareness of or address child protection
    • Lead the capacity building assessment for community-based structures as it relates to child protection understanding, knowledge, and gaps
    • Coordinate across teams and organizations to develop and implement child protection training schedule
    • Provide technical assistance as new gaps in child protection emerge among community-based structures
    • Participate in periodic, multi-disciplinary program reviews to identify challenges, opportunities, and needs of the program as it relates to child protection training and knowledge sharing
    • Review the child protection policy and procedures to ensure it is relevant, current, and fit for purpose.
    • Keep abreast of developments in the field of child protection.
    • Raise awareness of code of conduct when dealing with children.
    • Any other lawful duties as assigned by your supervisor.

    Qualifications and Competencies

    • Bachelor’s degree in social work, community development or other relevant field from a recognized and reputable institution is required
    • At least 3- 5 years of direct experience in child protection
    • Demonstrated and significant experience in capacity building and/or training at the community level
