    Cath Lab Nurse Manager

    Job Objective/Purpose

    The Cath lab Nurse Manager will oversee and coordinate all clinical activities within the cardiac catheterization laboratory (Cath Lab) and the Coronary Care Unit (CCU).

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage and supervise the daily operations of the cardiac catheterization laboratory, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to established protocols and standards.
    • Coordinate and schedule procedures, ensuring optimal utilization of resources and meeting patient care needs.
    • Collaborate with physicians, interventional cardiologists, and other healthcare professionals to plan, organize, and implement Cath lab procedures.
    • Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of Cath lab nurses, including performance evaluations, staff development, and scheduling.

    • Graduate of an accredited nursing school as a Registered Nurse with a valid license with the Nursing Council of Kenya.

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a cardiac catheterization laboratory, with progressive leadership responsibilities and demonstrated expertise in cardiac catheterization procedures, including diagnostic and interventional techniques.

    Theatre Technician

    Mission

    Key Responsibilities

    • Observations
      • Assist the anesthetist and the nurse in the recovery room to accurately take and record Temp., Pulse, Resp., B/P
      • Observe other vital signs & report changes in patient condition immediately.
      • Immediately reports abnormalities the Theatre Nurse and documents on the patient file.
    • Patients Care
      • Assist with the transfer of patients to theatre in time for operation. 
      • Ensure smooth and safe transition of patient back to the ward from Recovery Room / Theatre
      • Ensure patients’ needs are met promptly.

    • Theatre Duties (Intra-Operation)

      • Report immediately in case of a faulty machine to the Nurse In- Charge

    • Post Operative Care
      • a. Ensure clear airway and proper patient positioning.

      • Observe sterility methods during operations.
      • Practice proper methods of infection control.

      • Ensure proper cleaning and disinfection of the theatres after every procedure.

    Medical Officer

    Job Objective/Purpose

    Provision of quality care and quality services in line with Avenue Healthcare’s defined policies, protocols, procedures and standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Accurate and clear documentation of patient history, physical examination, investigations, and management.
    • Initiate and maintain proper management and treatment of patients
    • Appropriate and early consultation and referral of patients to specialists.
    • Daily updates of the patients progress to the patient and the next of kin.
    • Facilitates patient admissions, necessary consents and discharges.

    Midwife

    Job Objective/Purpose

    Provide professional and compassionate maternity nursing service and care to patients, by ensuring their review and treatment as per the Hospital protocols, and nursing standards and practices.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Work with the clinical team to navigate patients through the childbirth journey, offering them quality care by;
      • Ensuring good working relationship with all stakeholders.
      • Ensuring the recording and safe keeping of patient’s valuables
      • Implementing prepartum, intrapartum, post-partum and newborn care plan while prioritizing the patient’s needs in the documented nursing care plan.
      • Educating the patient and their family about their options for treatment, possible side effects, and lifestyle changes that may be needed to support recovery.
      • Ensuring patient privacy and confidentiality is maintained at all times, as per policy.
    • Ensure all nursing protocols have been administered as per the set-out policies and guidelines, recording and reporting all sentinel incidents/events within 24 hours using the provided tools.

    Receptionist

    Job Objective/ Purpose:

    Manage the reception professionally at all times and ensure that all visitors, patients and clients are accorded timely, professional and compassionate service.

    Unit Manager - Critical Care

    Job Objective/ Purpose:

    Planning, organizing, and coordinating all Critical Care unit activities, ensuring the provision of patient-centrist nursing care, operational efficiency and positive patient experience, in line with the Hospital protocols and standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • People Management:
      • Supervise Critical Care team in delivering individual and team targets by ensuring  all nurses accurately perform their tasks, including admission, discharge, drug administration, clinical observations, IPC, and others, and lead performance appraisals.
      • Prepare monthly work schedules (ROTA) and ensure efficient use of overtimes and locums.
      • Provide leadership, ensuring staff development, engagement, performance, and ensure monthly staff meetings with documented evidence.
    • Ensure the unit is financially viable and demonstrate growth through;
      • Ensuring quality of Care & Service hence ensuring high patient retention rates by achieving high patient satisfaction rates and NPS scores.
