Kenya Education Network, (KENET), is the National Research and Education Network (NREN) of Kenya. KENET provides affordable, cost-effective and low-congestion Internet bandwidth services to member institution campuses in Kenya. We also provide shared services such as; co-location of servers, dedicated Virtual servers for e-learning systems, video and web conferencing, and capacity building for technical staff. KENET is the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) for the academic community.

Main Purpose of the Job
This position reports to the Enterprise ICT Solution Lead and will be responsible for analyzing member institutions academic and administrative cloud computing requirements and proposing appropriate technical cloud solutions. The solutions shall be based on private, community, and public cloud infrastructures.
Requirements for the Job
The ideal candidate shall have an electrical engineering, computer science or information systems or related degree from a recognized university.
The candidate shall also have hands-on experience of a minimum of five years in setting up and supporting cloud services.
The candidate should also be proficient in UNIX-based Operating Systems and at least one programming language, preferably Python and detailed knowledge of relational database management systems (e.g MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle). Industry cloud certifications on implementation & administration of Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, VMWare ESX, or OpenStack cloud infrastructures shall be an added advantage.

Main Purpose of the Job
This position reports to the Lead Network Development Engineer and will be join a team responsible for network development of the backbone and last mile infrastructure of KENET as well as providing campus network development advisory services.
Requirements for the Job
The ideal candidate shall have an electrical engineering degree from a recognized university and be registered or registrable as a professional engineer with Engineers Board of Kenya.
With at least 5 years of hands-on practical experience with design and implementation of large enterprise IP networks with a variety of layers 1 to 3 networking equipment.
The candidate should have some programming in Python or C, system automation experience using Ansible or Puppet and basic systems administration in Linux environment.
Industry certifications with different networking equipment vendors shall be an added advantage

This position reports to the Executive Director and will be expected to provide overall leadership on all financial matters in KENET including accounting, finance, tax, audit, pricing, internal controls and other related matters
Requirements for the Job
Suitable candidate will lead financial operations & management, performance analysis, reporting, direct and indirect tax compliance, risk management, payroll administration, people management and ensuring a sustainable financial position.
The ideal candidate shall have BSc/ BA degree in Accounting or Finance or related field and a CPA with at least 10 years of progressively responsible work experience in accounting or audit, three of which should be at senior level in a medium-sized or large organization
