Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
Salary Scale: Ksh.15, 670 – Ksh. 17, 570 P.M
Basic Salary: Ksh. 15,670 per month
House Allowance – Depending on duty station
Leave Allowance – as existing in the Civil/Service
Commuter Allowance – Ksh. 3,000 per Month

For appointment to this grade, the candidate must have:-

• Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D+ (plus) or its equivalent from a recognized institution; and
• Artisan National Trade test certificate Grade III/ apprentice Certificate awarded by the Directorate of Industrial Training or its equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution.

Duties and Responsibilities

• manufacturing parts for repair and maintenance of commercial vehicles, construction plants, body building that may involve interpretation of drawings, fitting, use of manufacturing machines, bench work, and precision measuring tools.
• cleaning of machines and the work place.

This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the supervision and guidance of a more senior and experienced officer. Duties and responsibilities at this level include: -

• preparing geological and construction samples;
• drying, crushing and preserving samples for testing and cleaning of work area and equipment
• assisting in field and sampling investigation.
