    Driver (DESS SMS Platform)

    Organizational Setting and Work Relationships

    The Driver in the UNHCR Office is normally supervised directly by the Administrative Officer/Associate/Assistant or another staff member when the scale of the Operation so require it. Besides driving, the incumbent is responsible for up keep and maintenance of the assigned UNHCR vehicle(s) as per technical guidance and specifications established by the Organisation. S/he is required to follow strict instructions and security guidance provided by the supervisor. While the basic function of a driver is to drive the official vehicles of UNHCR, s/he may be called upon to perform minor maintenance and repair of UNHCR vehicles.

    The Driver has regular contacts with staff within the UNHCR Office and with others (including Partners, government authorities, etc.) outside UNHCR involving a limited exchange of information.

    All UNHCR staff members are accountable to perform their duties as reflected in their job description. They do so within their delegated authorities, in line with the regulatory framework of UNHCR which includes the UN Charter, UN Staff Regulations and Rules, UNHCR Policies and Administrative Instructions as well as relevant accountability frameworks. In addition, staff members are required to discharge their responsibilities in a manner consistent with the core, functional, cross-functional and managerial competencies and UNHCR¿s core values of professionalism, integrity and respect for diversity.

    Duties

    • Drive UNHCR vehicles for the transport of authorized passengers, deliver, and collect documents and other items.
    • Meet official personnel at airports or other locations and facilitate immigration and customs formalities as required.
    • Perform day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicles; check oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc. and ensure that the assigned UNHCR vehicles are road or waterway worthy and maintained up to the established security standards.
    • Perform minor repairs, arrange for other repairs, and ensure that the vehicle is kept clean.
    • Ensure that the steps required by rules and regulations, or other local procedures, are taken in case of involvement in an accident.
    • Log official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing, etc.
    • Ensure that instructions and security guidance provided by the supervisor and security focal point are strictly followed.
    • Ensures valid documentation for passengers, items or cargo in vehicle.
    • Perform other related duties as required.

    Senior Fundraising Associate (IG) (UNOPS LICA 7 )

    Duties And Qualifications

    Purpose and Scope of Assignment

    (Concise and detailed description of activities, tasks and responsibilities to be undertaken, including expected travel, if applicable)

    • Research and analyze donor history and reconcile discrepancies;
    • Work to create and implement operational coding for regular monthly giving and Annual Giving;
    • Support responding to donor emails on Selligent in a timely and effective manner;
    • Ensure an accurate and up to date donor database is always maintained;
    • Respond to donors in a timely manner;
    • Keep abreast with upcoming emergencies and assist in creating content to be shared with donors such as news updates on emergencies;
    • Collect email assets ¿ including images, statistics, and human-interest stories relevant to specific emergencies/email asks in accordance to the content calendar;
    • Assist in analysing email performances and provide input on how to grow/maintain donor numbers;
    • Research retrieves and disseminates information from the First View to assist in the resolution of donor issues;
    • Assist with prompt and accurate processing, acknowledgment and recognition of all gifts, pledges,and payments made to UNHCR;
    • Professionally receives and manages complaints from donors;
    • Engage professionally with donors to upgrade or degrade their donations;
    • Ability to pitch and inspire unhappy donors from cancelling their regular monthly/annual donations;
    • Other duties as assigned


    Monitoring and Progress Controls

    Work Closely With The Communications Team To

    Help produce reports, newsletters, etc. for donors as required;
    Prepare inputs for funding submissions, as appeals and reports;
    Develop donor engagement content.

    Qualifications And Experience

    • Education (Level and area of required and/or preferred education)

    Bachelor's in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, Advertising or related field;

    Work Experience:

    • 5 years of relevant work experience
    • Current market knowledge of private sector partnerships;
    • Excellent computer skills and knowledge in MS Office applications;
    • Excellent knowledge (written/ oral/ comprehension) of English. Highly developed drafting ability in English required;
    • Knowledge of web design, desktop publishing and photo editing will be useful;
    • Proven ability to develop project proposals.

    Position Competencies

    • Knowledge of private sector organizations in the Kenyan market;
    • Experience in an international field setting and with project management in the area of humanitarian operations;
    • Good communicator with presentation skills;
    • Good interpersonal skills.
    • Exposure to UNHCR would be an added advantage
