    Electrician

    Required Minimum Qualifications and Experience

    Applicants must meet the following requirements:

    • Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Diploma in Electrical Installation from a recognized institution.
    • At least 2–3 years of practical work experience in electrical installation and maintenance.
    • Knowledge of electrical systems including:
      • Power distribution
      • Lighting systems
      • Generator systems
      • Electrical fault diagnosis
    • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
    • Good knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations.
    • Must be registered or eligible for registration with the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) or a relevant professional body.
    • Have good communication and teamwork skills.
    • Have high level of integrity and professionalism.
    • Have knowledge in the related field of refrigeration, cold rooms
    • Must be a Christian of regular standing
    • Be reliable and flexible to work an extra mile on underground and overhead lines, odd hours.
    • Be able to fix, install appliances, equipment and electrical machines e.g. Motors, generators and control panel systems.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Installation of electrical appliances and equipment for the university and in the university workers’ homes
    • Service and repair of faulty power lines
    • Repair and maintenance of electrical appliances and equipment for the university and in the university workers’ homes.
    • Repair and Maintenance of electrical installations tools, equipment, and records of maintenance activities on the entire campus
    • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and regulations.
    • Install, repair and maintain lighting systems including floodlights, security and street lighting around the campus.
    • Changing/replacement of lighting system e.g. bulbs, tubes, starters, sockets and ballast in buildings, homes and student hostels.
    • Replacement and maintenance of instant heaters in student hostels.
    • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of electrical systems/main switches
    • Support installation Inspection, repair and maintenance/servicing of the generators and backup power systems.
    • Check connections of the generator from the source to the consumer to ensure that they are in working order
    • Fueling of the Generator
    • Support installation, repairs and maintenance of generators, motors and backup power systems.
    • Troubleshoot electrical faults and ensure quick restoration of power systems.
    • Identify spare parts required for repairing the university electrical equipment.
    • Work closely with the Maintenance Department to support campus infrastructure needs
    • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of the university equipment and supplies.

    • Perform other duties assigned by the Physical Plant Manager.

    Librarian

    Required Qualifications and Experience

    • Master’s degree in library science, Information Science or Library studies from a recognized Institution. PhD Degree will be an added advantage
    • Bachelor’s degree in library science, Information Science of Library studies from a recognized Institution
    • Served as Assistant Librarian for a Minimum of three (3) years
    • Published 1 article in a peer reviewed journal
    • Evidence of professional growth and membership in a relevant Association
    • Experience with library systems, Databases and Academic Information Resources
    • Strong leadership, Management and communication skills

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Plan for the continued growth of the library and the curriculum material center in collaboration with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic and Student Affairs.
    • Prepare strategic plans for the library and quarterly reports for the library.
    • Compile statistics and reports relating to the use of the library.
    • Supervise the work of library employees in cataloguing, classification, circulation, indexing and preservation of library materials.
    • Ensure and maintain a studious atmosphere in the library.
    • Receive and expedite all library book requests and periodically, within budget limitations.
    • Make monthly reports on all acquisitions and additions for the departments, together with reports on unused funds for which no requests have been received.
    • Work with Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic and Student Affairs to increase the procurement of library books and subscription to electronic library resources.
    • Ensure optimal utilization of library
    • Keep abreast with new technological trends relevant to the library
    • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic and |Student Affairs.

    Chef

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Prepare and present high-quality meals in line with established menus and standards
    • Plan menus with emphasis on continental and vegetarian cuisine
    • Ensure food quality, consistency, and timely service
    • Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness
    • Manage kitchen operations, inventory, and cost control
    • Supervise kitchen staff and ensure efficient workflow

    Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

    • Minimum qualification of a Diploma or Certificate in Food Production, Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or a related option
    • At least five (5) years’ relevant work experience in a medium-sized enterprise, hotel, institution, or catering establishment
    • Proven experience in continental cuisine and vegetarian meal preparation will be a strong advantage
    • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen best practices
    • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high quality standards

    Assistant General Manager – Food Production & Hospitality

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Oversee food production and hospitality operations within UEAB Industries
    • Plan, coordinate, and supervise production and service delivery activities
    • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and quality standards
    • Manage staff performance, scheduling, and operational efficiency
    • Control costs and support budgeting processes
    • Ensure optimal stock levels are always maintained by monitoring inventory, while verifying available materials require to support uninterrupted production
    • Ensure high standards of customer service and institutional hospitality

    Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Hotel & Restaurant Management, Food Production, Food Science & Technology, or Business Administration with a hospitality focus
    • A minimum of three (3) years’ relevant work experience in food production or hospitality within a medium-sized enterprise or institutional setting
    • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills
    • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and quality management systems
    • High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability

    Accountant

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Maintain accurate financial records for UEAB Industries
    • Prepare financial reports, budgets, and cash flow statements
    • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, institutional policies and regulatory requirements
    • Support audits and internal control processes
    • Oversee receivables, payables, and general ledger functions

    Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

    • Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree, Accounting Option, or equivalent qualification
    • At least three (3) years’ relevant work experience in a medium-sized enterprise
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
    • CPA(K) Part II or above will be an added advantage
    • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications
    • Strong analytical and organizational skills
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines
