    Manager - Credit Reporting & Control

    PURPOSE:

    The incumbent is responsible for reporting responsibilities within the credit risk function of the Bank at portfolio level in compliance with credit policy and CBK prudential guidelines.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Preparing statutory reports in utmost accuracy for regulatory submissions within stipulated timelines and ensuring nil non-compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
    • Ensuring all credit related GLs are reconciled and aligned to the related listings monthly.
    • Preparation of other scheduled/adhoc external reports to DFIs, CRBs, KBA and other stakeholders.
    • Performing analysis/review of risk classification of loans advances and computing the required general and specific provisioning of the portfolio in line with CBK Prudential Guidelines.
    • Facilitating any required strategic management reports for risk management and decision making.
    • Supporting facilitation of seamless audit processes by co-ordination of all requirements within credit department.
    • Preparation of Internal reports to Departmental units and management accurately and within the agreed timelines.
    • Supporting in co-ordination of CRMC/BCC papers, preparation of the Agenda and circulation of Matters Arising from previous meetings for input by all relevant stakeholders.
    • Preparation and modelling of IFRS9 numbers, validating the ECL results and analyzing impacts.
    • Monitor and report loan portfolio performance and trends to provide insight to business teams and management.
    • Tracking of credit policy requirements against internal and regulatory limits and reporting any breaches or exceptions to management.
    • Providing input in the review and update of the credit reporting related policies and guidelines.
    • Supporting any Bank project relating to credit reporting aspects.
    • Supporting in the Credit Department Budgetary process.
    • Presentation of all required MIS – Analytics and Dashboards.
    • Supporting in execution of tasks within the unit in liaison with the other team members and as assigned by the line manager.

    PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

    Academic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in any field from a recognized institution.
    • Qualification in any data analytics course will be an added advantage.

    Experience

    • 5 years banking experience with at least 2-3 years’ within credit reporting lines.
    • Well versed with CBK Prudential Guidelines relating to Asset Classification, knowledge of relevant bank processes, policies and procedures

    Generic Competencies

    • Technical skills with high proficiency in Microsoft excel and PowerPoint.
    • Report writing skills; and
    • Numeric skills.
    • Analytics skills.

    Associate - Card Settlements

    PURPOSE:

    The role is responsible for processing all card Issuing and Acquiring business settlements accurately and promptly in the Card Management System and Core Banking System in line with the laid down bank procedures and schemes regulations.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Daily processing and reconciliations of both VISA and MasterCard Domestic and International issuing and acquired transactions across all the bank card products and acquiring channels to respective domestic VISA and MasterCard Settlement Agents and International NOSTROs
    • Posting of all Daily Union Pay, VISA and MasterCard transactions to Bank General Ledger against settled reconciliation position.Daily Merchant settlement of all acquired Ecommerce transactions against values received from the schemes as set out in the merchant Service Level Agreements and Bank settlements policy.
    • Daily GL and Loyalty file generation and processing confirmation.
    • Custodian to all daily scheme settlements reports, workings, and payment records
    • Prompt processing and settlements of all Vendor and Supplier Invoices as per the agreed service standards and payment terms.
    • Daily processing and reconciliations of both VISA and MasterCard Domestic and International issuing and acquired transactions across all the bank card products and acquiring channels to respective domestic VISA and MasterCard Settlement Agents and International NOSTROs
    • Prompt review of all scheme settlements reconciliation exceptions as highlighted by Card Reconciliation teams and follow up with respective state holders for resolution.
    • Bank Liaison Agent with other Banks and Schemes on matters relating to card issuing and acquiring settlements.
    • Custodian to all daily scheme settlements reports, workings, and payment records
    • Completion of RTGS Transfers and generation to Payment advice for all daily scheme settlements for domestic Agents
    • Inter-General Ledger daily settlements transfers for the requisite accounts to complete the daily settlement and accounting process.
    • Ensuring all settlement fees and associated charges are properly accounted and posted to General Ledger as part of daily settlement process.
    • Daily tracking of all suspicious and fraudulent transactions processed and launched through various card schemes on both issuing and acquiring business segments to ensure proper investigations and successful closure.
    • Review of individual Ecommerce merchants’ performance and appropriate categorization to ensure proper risk controls are implemented where red alerts are identified.
    • Monthly reports compilation CBK NPS report and Business GL status report.
    • Prepare Quarterly MasterCard Reporting (QMR), VISA Operating Certificates (GOC) and any other scheme report as required.
    • Ensure compliance to card scheme regulations on transaction data processing and sharing requirements to mitigate any adverse compliance assessments/penalties.
    • Timely escalation of challenges, risks identified to the Supervisor.
    • And any other duty as may be allocated by the Managers.
    • Uphold the bank Imara 2.0 strategy and be a change maker as per the Pamoja narrative.

    Academic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in a Business-related field from a recognized institution

    Professional Qualifications

    • Competences in Microsoft Offices Packages on MS EXCEL, MS WORD

    Experience

    • 2 Years’ experience in Card Operations, Banking
    • Acquaintance to Banking and Accounting Applications

    Generic Competencies

    • Good business communication (written and verbal) skills.
    • Must have a good time management skills.
    • Should have a good interpersonal skill and be able to interact with all levels of personnel within and outside the Bank.
    • Proficiency in the use of computers – Ms Office, relevant banking software.
    • Good Problem Solving and analytical skills.
