    Hygiene Agent

    Objective of the Position:

    According to the protocols assigned to the function, carry out cleaning activities to ensure the hygiene and disinfection of surfaces and materials.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Perform tasks related to hygiene and disinfection according to the protocols applied in the service, know and apply the specific hygiene protocols and safety rules. This includes, but is not limited to the following:
    • Maintain clean and disinfect the infrastructures allocated to his position, including furniture, doors, walls and floor, medical equipment (patient rooms, consultation rooms, laboratory, operating room, delivery room, staff room, storage room, kitchen, bathroom, and latrines) applying specific protocols and using the tools and equipment provided. Clean floors, equipment, beds, toilets and showers according to protocols and plan the schedule
    • Collect and evacuate the waste produced by the medical structures towards the designated site, previously organized by the medical staff, empty the bins as often as necessary to ensure an effective quality of care and a safe environment.
    • Report any necessary repairs or maintenance related to hygiene to the supervisor, along with any relevant information related to his responsibilities.
    • Raise awareness of hygiene and sanitation measures among patients, visitors, staff, mothers to properly use water distribution points, latrines, hand washing areas, in collaboration with the health promotion and nursing team.
    • Fill all water containers every morning (drinking water and hand washing areas) and refill them when they are half full. To wash your hands, make sure soap is available.
    • Install mosquito nets as required for the use of hospital beds and Conduct laundry activities according to protocols.
    • Ensure that equipment and tools are properly used and maintained. Ensure the availability of hygiene and sanitation products and establish prescriptions for ongoing needs.
    • Notify line manager of any repair or maintenance needs and share all relevant information related to his/her responsibilities.

    Requirements

    Education:

    • Essential High school Certificate/Certificate in housekeeping

    Experience:

    • Desirable at least 1 year of experience working in a similar position/ experience working with Youth is a plus

    Languages:

    • Essential local language Kiswahili and English

    Driver

    Objective of the Position:

    Execute the task of transporting goods and authorized people in an MSF vehicle, making sure to respect the technical and safety conditions, the country's highway code and MSF's safety rules, in order to provide a service safe, trouble-free and efficient.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Every day, check the technical condition of the assigned vehicle (condition of tires, oil, fuel, brakes, radio equipment, spare parts, etc.), carry out weekly checks according to the MSF logbook, make the necessary fillings and keep the vehicle clean to ensure that it can be driven in perfect conditions. Make a handover with the following driver when applicable.
    • Ensure the safety of the passengers in the vehicle, drive carefully, observe the speed limits and driving rules of the country and the safety rules of MSF, in order to avoid car accidents.
    • Ensure that all passengers have the necessary documents before setting off and ensure that non-MSF personnel sign the appropriate liability waivers before using the vehicle.
    • Ensure the correct loading and unloading of the vehicle and in particular, deliver the documents to the recipient of the goods, check the status of the delivered goods, return the duly completed documents to the logistics services, ensure that the goods are accompanied by the necessary documents.
    • Ensure that all vehicle documents and the driver's license are valid and are in the vehicle.
    • Ensure that the vehicle is still in good condition following the instructions and guidelines in the logbook and make a handover / trade-in if someone else uses the vehicle.
    • Inform the line manager of any incident relating to the transport of passengers or goods.
    • Know how to use all types of radio, know by heart the codes, call numbers and radio alphabet and communicate with the base according to MSF communication policies in order to inform of the location of the driver and the possible implications.
    • Know and respect the safety rules relating to the movement of vehicles, and particularly those concerning customs, checkpoints and roadblocks. Ensure that all passengers know and follow the safety rules.
    • Participate on Job trainings organized by Joint Mechanical workshop.
    • Perform Bi-weekly checks of the vehicle at the assigned MSF premiss as per MSF Logbooks
    • Cleaning/washing of the assigned vehicle

    Requirements

    Education:

    • Essential High School Certificate and relevant training and skills

    MUST possess a valid Kenyan driving license

    Experience:

    • Desirable at least 2 years of driving experience preferably with MSF or other NGOs
    • Preferably experience with the vehicles to be used (4X4, Landcruiser’s etc.) and Knowledge of basic mechanics desirable

    Languages: Knowledge of English and Kiswahili

    Call for consultancy-Facilities & Office Infrastructure Assessment

    The main objectives of this consulting project are to:

    1. Assess MSF EA short-term and long-term needs and requirements for our facilities 2. Assess possibilities with other MSF entities based in Nairobi
    2. Assess and develop possible solutions/alternatives.
    3. Identify possible solutions and assess their feasibility. e.g stay in the current building with adjustment, renting or buying our own premises, relocation to a new rented space and building our own infrastructures.
    4. Analyze the costs and benefits of different options and provide recommendations on the most cost-effective and efficient solution.
    5. Identify potential new buildings or locations that would meet the needs of MSF EA and/or other entities who wish to join the project and provide a detailed analysis of each option.
    6. Provide a comprehensive report outlining the findings of the assessment and recommendations for next steps. The report shall contain the problem definition, requirements, alternatives, schedule, risks, logistics and budget required to obtain suitable office facilities.
    7. Through this project, we hope to gain a clear understanding of the best course of action for MSF and to make an informed decision. We believe that this will help us optimize our operations, reduce our costs, and improve our overall efficiency. We are committed to achieving these objectives and look forward to working with a qualified consultant to achieve our goals.

    Scope of Work
    The Consultant will be responsible for the following tasks:

    1. Identify/meet/engage the stakeholders forming the steering committee and identify focal point to support the study (MSF EA, Hosted units, Technical support, Managing Section, Operational sections, missions in Kenya …).
      1. Assess the current facilities, including a review of the physical space, layout, and functionality
        Understand strategic needs (working space, meeting rooms, breakout areas, parking, storage and IT infrastructure), develop growth scenarios and estimate the headcounts on long term basis (5-10 years).
        Establish specifications defining the geographical area to be explored, the functional requirement and the minimum surface to be sought during visits.
        Study the context: urbanistic, administrative and regulatory, legislation, real estate market technic and any other element relevant to the project.
    2. Analyze the costs and benefits of relocating or acquiring a new building, including an assessment of the financial implications of each option.
    3. Identify potential new buildings or locations that meet the needs of MSF EA, considering factors such as proximity to areas of interest, transportation infrastructure, and local zoning regulations.
    4. Provide a detailed analysis of each option, including a comparison of costs, benefits, and potential risks.
    5. Develop a set of recommendations for the best course of action, considering the objectives of the project, the budget, and the timeline.
    6. Present the findings of the assessment and recommendations to the executive team of MSF EA in a clear and concise manner.

    Qualifications and Experience of the Key Expert

    The Consultant for this project should have the following qualifications and experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as engineering, architecture, interior design, or facilities management.
    • At least 10 years of experience in facilities management or related field, with a proven track record of managing complex facility projects.
    • Strong analytical skills and experience with data collection and analysis, with the ability to synthesize and present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
    • Experience in project and change management.
    • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
    • Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information to a variety of stakeholders, including executive leadership, technical staff, and non-technical staff.
    • Knowledge of local and national building codes and regulations.
    • Experience with budget management, including the ability to develop and manage project budgets.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of accountability and attention to detail.
    • MSF experience is an asset.
