    Mechanic – Motor vehicle

    Reporting to the Fleet Manager, the mechanic will specialize in diagnosis, servicing, repairing of motor vehicles and conduct routine maintenance checks, carry out unit overhauls and electrical repairs on the motor vehicles. In addition, build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements; Inspect machines, engines, transmissions and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues.

    Responsibilities:

    • Evaluate mechanical problems in vehicles and assist senior/ lead mechanics complete major repairs
    • Perform minor, medium and major mechanical services and repairs; undertake welding and minor body work
    • Service vehicles according to an established preventive maintenance schedule; rotate and balance tires; change oil and filters; lubricate vehicle parts; inspect and replace hoses, belts, mirrors, lamps; and maintain all fluid levels
    • Inspect vehicles and evaluate condition of systems, equipment, accessories, and lights; service as needed
    • Demonstrate process of preventive maintenance and visual inspections to mechanic helpers
    • Perform preventive maintenance; including bleeding of air tanks, on shop equipment according to established schedules
    • Undertake unit overhauls for engines, gearboxes, differentials, steering box, brake boosters and electrical and electronic systems troubleshooting
    • Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures
    • Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting, climbing, correct unsafe conditions in the work area and report any conditions that are hazardous to the supervisor
    • Maintain accurate records of time and materials required to perform repairs and service
    • Advise on any preventative maintenance that may be required on the motor vehicles to avoid any future breakdown and downtime; maintain accurate, updated records of preventive maintenance

    Ideal candidate:

    Knowledge and Qualifications

    • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education
    • Technical Grade Test
    • Proven experience as Mechanic with excellent knowledge of engines, machinery and hydraulic, electrical and other systems and their components
    • Aptitude in using various hand tools and precision measurement tools.
    • Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instruction, blueprints/ schematics
    • A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines
    • Effective communication skills and problem-solving ability
    • Good physical strength and stamina.

    Experience

    • Minimum of 5 years experience and above in a high traffic Workshop.

    Courier Supervisor – Cross Border & Warehousing

    About

    Reporting to the Assistant Operations Manager, the Courier Supervisor – Cross Border & Warehousing coordinates the provision of contractual and ad hoc courier Cross Border & Warehousing services to customers, in compliance with legislation, G4S policies and procedures, to ensure achievement of budgeted financial targets. The Supervisor is also responsible for monitoring the quality; overseeing the shipping and delivery of materials and supervising the warehouse staff.

    Responsibilities

    • Monitor inventory and document actions by completing forms (Stock Cards), reports, logs, and records; maintaining databases and completing counts as required
    • Design storage areas; adjust storage areas according to production and shipping requirements and update location database
    • Plan, track & trace the shipment of final products according to customer requirements and take steps to avoid quality control issues
    • Prepare products for shipment and distribution by verifying location; directing movement to staging area and resolve related problems
    • Ensure that all cross border items & properly addressed & clearing documents are in order
    • Regular update of the warehouse stocks control movement and verify product inventory reports by comparing logs and reports; adjusting entries
    • Ensure the clients are regularly updated on any changes or movement in the stock and assist clients with product selection and pricing to improve transportation routes as required
    • Recruit and coordinate logistics staff (Support staff) according to the Business requirements
    • Review and implement warehouse procedures; organize personnel, and assist with training as required, whilst also managing budgets and courier expenses
    • Ensuring premises, assets (Handling Equipment & PPE’s) and communication tools are used effectively
    • Supervise the Housekeeping of the warehouse and ensure all the necessary safety conditions & standards are maintained at all times in the warehouse

    • Understanding of planning, shipping, warehouse management and inventory systems
    • Managing daily routes/schedules of shipments and deliveries

    Experience

    Customer Service Agent

    Reporting to the Team Leader – Customer Service, the Customer Service Agent is responsible for attending to and ensuring effective and prompt handling of customer’s inquiries, problems solving and other matters relating to Courier Service.

    Responsibilities:

    • Handle all customers inquiries/complains/ Value Added Desks
    • Book appointments for customer relationship visits within the sales Territory allocated

    Technician – Fire Services

    About the job

    Reporting to the Technical / Fire Supervisor, the Technician will conduct the installation, repair, replacement, and maintenance of the Firefighting systems (Hose reel system, Sprinkler systems, Hydrant Systems and Gas suppression systems) following blueprints of the building layout plans.

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct maintenance/installation as per the schedule provided promptly with the worksheets and/or delivery notes ( Daily Technician KPI)
    • Ensure work schedules for both installations and maintenance of contractual and ad hoc fire systems are closed and well reported to the supervisor accompanied with worksheets
    • Ensure systems healthy status and Fire systems servicing to prevent customer complaints on service delivery

    Branch Supervisors (Kericho & Bungoma)

    About the job

    Reporting to the Assistant Operations Manager, the Branch Supervisor is responsible for the overall management of Courier operations at the branch including receiving of route vehicles from Nairobi, offloading, sorting, raising the delivery sheets, handing over to the delivery team and making sure that on time deliveries done within the agreed Service Levels Agreements. The Supervisor is also responsible for dispatching the Route Vehicles to Nairobi within the agreed Service Level Agreement after tallying and loading all the items that have been collected within course of the operations.

    Responsibilities:

    • Ensure proper route planning and scheduling for cost effective and timely deliveries
    • Organize a daily frontline staff parade to get staff feedback, communicate safety information, processes and procedures review and any management information
    • Maintain an updated daily parade minutes book and escalate in writing all staff concerns to the Operations manager within the first one hour of receipt of such concerns
    • Deploy staff optimally and ensures all assignments are well covered at all times and ensure all shift staff reporting and fall-out timings are observed
    • Ensure full compliance of courier processes and procedures and reports in writing all violations on time to the Team leader compliance.
    • Receive and confirm seal for all incoming route vehicles and ensure incoming items are accompanied by respective waybills
    • Ensure shift plan timings are observed- sorting- raising delivery sheets and handing over deliveries
    • Ensure proper handling of customer shipments to eliminate; damages, losses, pilferages and prepare service monitoring reports for all assigned key customers
    • Ensure delivery vehicles leave the Hub at the agreed time and deliveries are done within the set Service Level Agreements.
    • Reconcile the day’s deliveries at the end of each shift timing, hands over day’s updates and submit the daily reconciliation report to Team leader compliance at the end of each shift
    • Deal with customer complains effectively, escalate any complex and unresolved inquires and complains
    • Perform periodic staff Performance appraisal and keeps updated performance records for all staff under his shift.
    • Investigate incidents and accidents which fall within the shift and files updated corrective action reports.
    • Prepare weekly reports on frontline staff feedback and competitor activities
    • Debt collection and Management on the assigned set of customers to keep them within approved credit terms
    • Ensure safety first policy at the work place is adhered to and maintains an updated branch safety file
