    TAPS Photographer

    As a TAPS Photographer, you will play a special role in each guest’s journey, helping them capture and take home the magic of the Mara and Amboseli. You will lead photography experiences, offer thoughtful guidance, and contribute to Angama’s storytelling through your own creative work. This role blends artistry, technical skills, and genuine human connection, always with a lightness of touch and a spirit of joy.

    This role reports to the Head of TAPS. 
    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead photography experiences for guests with care and thoughtfulness, adapting to different interests and skill levels.
    • Guide guests on photographic safaris, helping them capture meaningful moments in the Mara and Amboseli with attentiveness and warmth.
    • Host photography classes and editing sessions that are clear, engaging, and enjoyable.
    • Look after guest camera rentals, keeping all equipment well maintained, functional, and ready to use.
    • Capture and create images that reflect the spirit, story, and heart of Angama.
    • Work closely with guides and lodge teams to bring guest stories to life through photography and shared experiences.
    • Contribute high-quality images and storytelling to blogs, social media, and other communication channels.
    • Organise, care for, and maintain photography equipment to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
    • Support the setup and breakdown of equipment for guest experiences and special occasions.
    • Collaborate with the Head of TAPS and fellow photographers to maintain a consistent and seamless guest experience.
    • Build strong, supportive relationships with lodge teams to ensure a joyful guest journey.
    • Share knowledge generously, nurturing a positive and collaborative team of culture.
    • Deliver every interaction with warmth, attentiveness, and a genuine sense of joy.

    Key Qualifications:

    • Proven experience in photography, ideally within a hospitality or safari setting.
    • Strong technical knowledge of cameras, lenses, and editing software.
    • Experience in teaching or guiding photography experiences is an added advantage.
    • Familiarity with the Mara and/or Amboseli landscapes and wildlife is beneficial.

    Guide

    As a Guide at Angama Mara, you will play a special role in each guest journey leading game drive, offering thoughtful insights, and helping guests connect with the wildlife, landscapes, and seasons of the Mara. This role blends knowledge, storytelling, and genuine human connection, always with a lightness of touch and a spirit of joy

    This role reports to the Head Guide.
    Key Responsibilities:

    • Hosting and guiding guests on game drives, offering safe, informative, and personalized safari experiences for every guest.
    • Interpret wildlife behavior and share insights into the ecosystem in a way that is engaging, respectful, and easy to understand.
    • Always ensure guest comfort and safety, both on drive and while at scenic stops.
    • Deliver a guest experience that is joyful, seamless, and in keeping with Angama’s unique approach to hospitality.
    • Maintain high standards of vehicle care, presentation, and readiness.
    • Support the preparation of safari picnics, sundowners, and other hosted moments in the field.
    • Collaborate closely with lodge and back-of-house teams to ensure smooth handovers and continuity of care.
    • Manage guest preferences and feedback with attentiveness and professionalism.
    • Uphold all guiding protocols, safety standards, and conservation practices.
    • Participate in daily briefings, training sessions, and ongoing development within the guiding team.

    Key Qualities of the Successful Candidate:

    • Warm, welcoming, and confident in guiding guests from all over the world.
    • Deep knowledge of the Maasai Mara’s wildlife, landscapes, and seasonal changes.
    • A gifted storyteller with a genuine love for the bush and the people who come to explore it.
    • Calm, safety-focused, and highly responsible, especially in challenging or unexpected situations.
    • Respectful and professional in guest interactions, with a natural flair for personal service.
    • A true team player who brings joy, humility, and support to colleagues.

    Key Qualifications:

    • KPSGA Bronze level (Silver preferred or willingness to grow into it)
    • Valid First Aid certificate.
    • Valid driving license and Defensive Driving certification.
    • At least 2 years’ experience in a guest-facing role at Angama or in another lodge environment.
    • A strong record of upholding Angama values especially respect, ubuntu, and joy.
