Responsibilities:

• Within delegated authority, the Consultant will be responsible for the following duties with an overall mission to establish a project management tool for the Cities Investment Facility: Develop the digital infrastructure for the CIF project management tool
• Develop a custom design based on the project specifications Preparing documentation/manuals for the operation and maintenance of the system
• Conduct training sessions for internal stakeholders on the use of the system Migrating the CIF website from wordpress hosting system
• Design an online learning module integrated into the migrated website
• Provide technical backstopping to address any problems with the website and the tool Conduct an in-depth technical audit of the project specifications to identify the best practices and elements that may be missing and present the gaps identified

Qualifications/special skills

• First-level university degree in Software Engineering, Computer Sciences, Information Technology and other relate courses is required.
• 4-year relevant experience in planning, design, development, implementation and maintenance of data and digital solutions and software systems

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Programme Management Officer, the intern will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Support the review and quality assurance of housing practices submitted to UN-Habitat, including follow-up with country and regional offices and partners as needed.
• Assist in compiling and organizing existing internal material on housing practices into a searchable and user-friendly format.
• Conduct desk research on national housing policies and frameworks, including identification of trends, innovations, and gaps.
• Assist with the preparation of presentations and communication materials, including for internal briefings or external events.

Qualifications/special skills

• Applicants must at the time of application, meet one of the following requirements:
• Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher),
• Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent),
• Have graduated with Bachelor's degree, Masters, PhD or equivalent. Be computer literate in standard software applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
• Have demonstrated a keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
• Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which includes a willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views. Preferred areas of study: Public Policy, International Development, Urban Planning, Human Geography.
• Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
