    Executive Communications & Partnerships Manager

    This role is critical to keeping CFK Africa's programs connected to one another, ensuring information flows smoothly across teams, and ensuring the organization's partnerships are well-managed, well-documented, and positioned to grow.

    The role carries accountability for internal communications, the partnership database and stakeholder follow-up, event management, cross-program communication, financial stewardship, safeguarding, and demonstrable engagement and impact.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 
    Internal Communications & Program Connectivity 

    • Develop and lead an internal communications strategy that keeps staff informed, aligned, and connected to leadership priorities, including drafting internal communications on behalf of the CEO/ED. 
    • Coordinate inter-departmental information flows, serving as the central point of connection between CFK Africa's programs, and advise the Executive Team on internal messaging and organizational alignment. 

    Partnership Database & Stakeholder Follow-Up 

    • Own and maintain CFK Africa's partnership database of partners and stakeholders, ensuring records are accurate, current, and accessible. 
    • Follow up on partnerships and stakeholder relationships passed down by the CEO/Executive 
    • Director, tracking status, next steps, and outcomes, and preparing briefing notes and talking points for key meetings.

    Events Management 

    • Plan and manage CFK Africa's main and special events, including logistics, budgeting, and stakeholder coordination, and organize partner-facing events and webinars in coordination with program teams. 
    • Work closely with the Youth Media Corps and YDN Communications team to ensure events are documented through photography, video, and storytelling, and capture lessons learned to improve future events. 

    Financial Management, Compliance & Impact 

    • Hold overall accountability for internal communications, partnership, and events budgets, ensuring spend is on-target, well-documented, and compliant with CFK Africa procedures and donor regulations. 
    • Oversee procurement, contracts, and vendor agreements related to events and partnerships, define indicators that capture internal engagement, partnership health, and event outcomes, and report regularly to the CEO/ED. 

    SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES 
    Required & Essential: 

    • A master's degree in a relevant field (e.g. communications, business administration, international development, or social sciences); a bachelor's degree with exceptional relevant experience may be considered. 
    • At least 7 years' progressive experience in communications, partnership or stakeholder management, or events management, including significant senior leadership responsibility. 
    • Proven track record of managing complex partner or stakeholder databases and delivering accurate, timely follow-up. 
    • Demonstrated success managing budgets and delivering against ambitious targets in compliance with donor regulations. 
    • Strong relationship management skills and experience supporting senior leadership with partnership exploration and engagement. 
    • Experience planning and delivering large or high-profile events, including partner-facing events and webinars. 
    • Familiarity with data management/CRM systems, data protection principles, and safeguarding in program or event settings.

    TechCraft Manager

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Strategic Leadership & Scale-Up

    • Set and drive TechCraft's strategic direction, translating the proven Kibera pilot into a costed, phased national expansion strategy across site selection, partnerships, and delivery models.
    • Oversee delivery of both learning tracks — skilled trades and digital gig work — establishing standardized systems, curricula, and quality benchmarks that allow the model to be replicated without loss of quality or impact.

    Model Innovation

    • Lead the design and continuous improvement of TechCraft's four core innovations: employer co designed training, the Women at Work gender-inclusive initiative, the YDN business rating system, and the trade tool lending library.

    Partnerships, Employer Engagement & Resource Mobilization

    • Build and steward strategic partnerships with employers, industry bodies, and government agencies (including NITA) to secure placements, apprenticeships, and pathways into formal contracts for graduates.
    • Work with the YDN Director to develop compelling proposals, cultivate sustainability pathways such as earned-income and cost-recovery mechanisms, and provide high-quality reporting that demonstrates impact and value for money.

    Team Leadership, Financial Management & Impact

    • Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing, multidisciplinary team of program officers, field officers, and trainers.
    • Hold overall accountability for TechCraft budgets and donor compliance, and work with the MEAL team to track placement, income, savings, and gender-equity outcomes, using evidence to drive continuous improvement.

    Required & Essential:

    • A master's degree in a relevant field (e.g. development studies, economics, education/TVET, business, or social sciences); a bachelor's degree with exceptional relevant experience may be considered.
    • At least 7 years' progressive experience in youth employment, workforce development, TVET, or livelihoods programming, including significant senior leadership responsibility.
    • Demonstrated success in scaling or expanding a program of similar nature, ideally in informal settlement or resource-constrained contexts.
    • Proven track record managing multi-donor budgets and delivering against ambitious targets in compliance with donor regulations.
    • Familiarity with NITA accreditation, apprenticeship models, or the digital gig economy in Kenya.
    • Experience designing or leading gender-inclusive or women's economic empowerment initiatives.
    • Exposure to social-enterprise or earned-income models for sustainability

    Sports Manager

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Sport-for-Development Programming & Kibera FCs

    • Set and drive the strategic direction of YDN's sport-for-development work, overseeing soccer and multi-sport leagues, coaching, and youth participation across slum communities, with a focus on inclusion of girls and young women.
    • Oversee CFK Africa's Kibera FCs — including team management, coaching standards, and competitive performance — building on the momentum of the 2025 women's national championship win and ensuring high standards of player welfare and safeguarding.

    The Slum Sports Digital Platform

    • Lead the design, launch, and continuous improvement of the youth-named and youth-branded digital platform, delivering league coordination, verified athlete profiles, health-behavior messaging, education and economic linkages, and a parent/guardian support network. Partnerships & Resource Mobilization
    • Build and steward partnerships with sporting federations, clubs, scouts, schools, universities, and scholarship providers, negotiating placement and scholarship arrangements that connect verified athletes to opportunity.
    • Work with the YDN Director to develop compelling proposals and sustainability pathways — including sponsorship and platform-based models — that reduce long-term grant dependency.

    Team Leadership, Financial Management & Impact

    • Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing, multidisciplinary team of program officers, coaches, coordinators, and volunteers.
    • Hold overall accountability for sports-for-development budgets and donor compliance, and work with the MEAL team to define indicators capturing participation, retention, health, education, and talent-progression outcomes.

    SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

    Required & Essential:

    • A master's degree in a relevant field (e.g. sports management, development studies, public health, education, or social sciences); a bachelor's degree with exceptional relevant experience may be considered.
    • At least 7 years' progressive experience in sport for development, youth programming, or a related field, including significant senior leadership responsibility.
    • Demonstrated success leading, growing, or transforming a program, ideally in informal settlement or resource-constrained contexts.
    • Proven track record managing multi-donor budgets and delivering against ambitious targets in compliance with donor regulations.
    • Experience building partnerships with sporting, academic, or institutional stakeholders and mobilizing resources or winning funding.
    • Experience commissioning or managing a digital product or platform, or working closely with a technical delivery team.
    • Knowledge of Kenya's sporting ecosystem — federations, clubs, scouting, and scholarship pathways.

    Communications & Media Manager

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Youth Media Corps

    • Lead the design, launch, and continuous development of the Youth Media Corps, mobilizing and mentoring young creators to produce video profiles, podcasts, short films, advocacy media, and visual storytelling.
    • Build the capacity of Corps members through training, mentorship, and editorial support, championing an ethical, community-led approach to storytelling that centers dignity and youth voice over deficit narratives.

    Strategic Communications, Brand & Public Relations

    • Set and drive CFK's and YDN's external communications and brand strategy, protecting and growing a consistent, credible, and compelling voice across all channels and audiences.
    • Lead media relations and public relations, building relationships with journalists and outlets, securing quality coverage, and proactively managing external communications and reputational issues.

    Digital, Content & Resource Mobilization

    • Manage CFK's and YDN's digital presence — website, social media, and multimedia channels — setting editorial standards and using analytics to improve content performance and impact.
    • Contribute to donor-facing communications and campaigns, and develop sustainability pathways for the Youth Media Corps, including content services, licensing, and employment opportunities, that reduce long-term grant dependency.

    Team Leadership, Financial Management & Impact

    • Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing communications and media team, and mentor Corps members and junior staff as a role model for learning, inclusion, and safeguarding.
    • Hold overall accountability for communications and Corps budgets, oversee procurement and talent agreements, and define indicators that capture reach, engagement, and narrative change, reporting regularly on impact.

    SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

    Required & Essential:

    • A master's degree in a relevant field (e.g. communications, journalism, media, marketing, or social sciences); a bachelor's degree with exceptional relevant experience may be considered.
    • At least 7 years' progressive experience in communications, media, or content development, including significant senior leadership responsibility.
    • Proven track record of building a brand and delivering high-quality, high-reach content across digital and traditional channels.

    Youth Development Network Director

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Youth Development Network Leadership

    • Provide overall strategic, technical, and operational leadership of the YDN, integrating its components so youth experience one network with clear pathways and referrals, and lead expansion beyond Kibera to additional settlements, counties, and countries.
    • Establish shared network standards for youth onboarding, identity, data, quality, and safeguarding that all components adopt. Digital Platform, Data & Youth Agency
    • Own the digital infrastructure underpinning the YDN, ensuring component platforms interoperate, and act as steward of youth data across the network, setting consent, privacy, and protection standards with particular care for minors.
    • Build structures — councils, feedback loops, youth leadership roles — that make genuine youth ownership of the network's priorities, design, and governance real and durable.

    Partnerships & Resource Mobilization

    • Build a coalition of stakeholders — government, corporations, funding partners, NGOs, researchers, and employers — around the network, negotiating the terms on which external institutions engage YDN youth to protect young people from extractive relationships.
    • Identify and cultivate diverse revenue streams, write compelling grant and business proposals, and build the sustainability model that reduces the network's long-term grant dependency.

    Strategy, Team Leadership & Impact

    • Serve on the Executive Management Team, contributing to organization-wide strategy and aligning strategic priorities with programming.
    • Lead, motivate, and develop the YDN team, work with and through component coordinators to deliver shared outcomes, and develop monitoring and evaluation frameworks that assess youth movement between components and downstream outcomes in work, education, and health.

    SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

    Required & Essential:

    • A master's degree in Global Youth Development, Public Health, Technology Development, Business Strategies and Entrepreneurship, or a related field. A bachelor's degree with at least 12 years of exceptional, relevant, and demonstrated experience may be considered.
    • Minimum of 10 years of work experience in tech development, entrepreneurship, global development, strategy, and project implementation, or related areas, including experience leading teams or programs at a senior level in Kenya and at least one other East African country.
    • Demonstrated technological literacy with proficiency in creating and using digital tools and platforms.
    • Experience with digital platforms, social media management, and online community building.
    • Experience writing grant and business proposals and demonstrated success securing seed funding for diverse projects.
    • Understanding of data protection and safeguarding obligations in digital youth programming.
    • Strong systems thinking — able to design how separate programs connect into a coherent network.
