    Senior Market Research Project Officer - Biomass

    Position Summary

    Reporting to the Head of Market Research, the Senior Market Research Officer- Biomass who will play a critical role in the execution of research initiatives from design to delivery and drive strategic insights and decision-making processes within the organization's Biomass division.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Build strategic partnerships with internal stakeholders for research execution.
    • Lead brainstorming with teams to understand research requests.
    • Manage project execution for assigned product lines, ensuring timely delivery.
    • Create, manage, and optimize end-to-end project plans.
    • Develop accurate study tools like questionnaires and guides in line with study objectives.
    • Use tools like Kobo App for scripting and execution.
    • Formulate research problems, hypotheses, and methodologies.
    • Establish effective team workflows and expectations.
    • Handle risk mitigation and problem resolution.
    • Provide consultancy and coaching support.

    Key Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
    • 8+ years of experience in Social Enterprise, Market Research, or related fields.
    • Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
    • Strong engagement with internal stakeholders and designers using participatory approaches.
    • Expertise in data management, analysis, study design, and data quality.
    • Skilled in navigating diverse organizational structures and cultures.
    • Independent, self-driven, and capable of scoping own deliverables.
    • Interpret research requests and lead brainstorming sessions.
    • Formulate research problems, hypotheses, and study types.
    • Identify appropriate methodologies and sample compositions.
    • Develop precise study tools (questionnaires, guides) aligned with objectives.

    • Analyze raw data using Excel, SPSS, Power BI, and similar tools.
    • Design qualitative studies and facilitate moderation.
    • Conduct qualitative analysis with tools like Excel grids, NVivo, Dedoose, etc.

    • Proficiency in project planning, budgeting, and PowerPoint presentations.

    Commercial Project Support (B2B)

    About the role:
    BURN is looking for commercial project support (B2B) whose role will encompass a diverse set of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the success of commercial projects and aligning with organizational goals. The role involves coordinating projects by liaising with stakeholders, tracking progress, and evaluating and improving project processes for enhanced efficiency.

    Additionally, the support position entails the development and management of key performance indicators, assessing project implementation, gathering insights, and playing a pivotal role in developing and implementing strategies to counter the impact of counterfeit products on the business.

     Moreover, the role extends to project coordination, involving the design of information-sharing centers and maintaining accurate project documentation, while also acting as a liaison for effective communication among internal teams, clients, and vendors.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Project Management

    • Collaborate with project managers to support the planning, execution, and monitoring of commercial projects. Assist in setting project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
    • Support to Project Managers: Provide administrative support to project managers, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and organizing project-related activities.
    • Resource Management: Assist in resource allocation, tracking, and optimization to ensure efficient utilization within project constraints.
    • Project Coordination: Assist in coordinating commercial projects by liaising with stakeholders, tracking project progress, and ensuring adherence to timelines.
    • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate project processes and workflows, recommending and implementing improvements for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other departments to gather project requirements, align on goals, and ensure effective communication channels are established.
    • Market Evaluation and Monitoring: Travel to different markets to evaluate and monitor the implementation of commercial projects, gathering valuable insights and identifying areas for improvement.
    • Maintaining Country Managers KPIs: Develop and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for Country Managers, regularly monitoring and reporting on their performance to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
    • Own the commercial counterfeit strategy: tracking and reporting on counterfeiter activities and working closely with other departments to develop and implement strategies to minimize the growing impact of counterfeit products on BURN's business.

    Project Coordination

    • Support commercial managers by designing information-sharing centres to increase visibility on key items such as AR, sales, inventory supply, and budgets.
    • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, progress reports, and meeting minutes. Compile and analyze data to generate insightful reports for stakeholders.
    • Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between internal teams, clients, and external vendors. Ensure clear and timely communication of project updates, requirements, and expectations.
    • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential risks or issues affecting project timelines or quality. Collaborate with the team to develop and implement mitigation strategies.
    • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular quality checks on project deliverables to ensure alignment with established standards and client expectations.

    Data Analysis & Reporting

    • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, and presentations. Collect, analyse, and summarize data to facilitate informed decision-making.
    • Communication and Collaboration: Facilitate communication among team members, clients, and vendors. Serve as a point of contact for project-related inquiries and ensure effective information flow.
    • Process Improvement: Contribute, document and report project processes and workflows to increase efficiency and productivity.

    Skills and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Project Management, or related field.
    • Proven experience 3 years in a project support or coordination role, preferably within a commercial or corporate environment.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel).
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality work within deadlines.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
    • Analytical mindset with the capability to gather and interpret data for decision-making purposes.

    Assistant MRV/ Feasibility Studies Coordinator

    About the role 

    We are looking for an Assistant MRV/ feasibility studies coordinator, with knowledge and skill in Project Management, who will assist in coordinating people and processes to ensure that our projects are delivered on time and produce the desired results. 

    The desired candidate should be capable of taking up a project and running with it with minimal supervision. 

    Duties and Responsibilities: 

    • Work with the MRV Manager, MRV/Feasibility Studies Coordinator and country managers to set up surveys that reflect the unique fuel and stove culture, as well as stove usage monitoring methodologies. 
    • Support with development of country-customized training materials for feasibility studies enumerators borrowing from the master training document under the supervision of the MRV Manager. 
    • Recruit, train and supervise location-efficient team enumerators and Team Leaders that can execute household-level feasibility studies. 
    • Initiate and follow through in the mobilization of budgets and other resources for efficient and timely execution of feasibility studies. 
    • Working closely with the MRV Manager and MRV/Feasibility Studies Coordinator to develop SOPs and checklists for maintaining the highest quality processes for efficient output from data and related units. 
    • Support with continuous review and audit the processes and surveys necessary to complete MRV and feasibility studies projects in time both quantitatively and qualitatively. 
    • Ensure data and documentation are compliant with laid down SOPs and methodologies. 
    • Collaborate and liaise closely and regularly with the relevant team members across the critical departments including but not limited to data and analytics, call centers, and commercial. 
    • Manage routine corrections of erroneous output and work to continuously improve this environment by harvesting and documenting lessons towards continuous improvement. 
    • Creating comprehensive monthly reports on the Pareto of issues, including root causes, examples, trends, and options for solutions.  

    Skills and Experience: 

    • Individuals will need excellent technical abilities to carry out audit-like work in a data-heavy environment.  
    • Relevant technical data handling skills in areas of collection using tools like Kobo and basic analysis using Ms. Excel. 
    • Team leadership and management of field teams in multiple locations. 
    • Required soft skills include people and teamwork skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving.  
    • The role-holder is expected to have strong field monitoring and evaluation skills including effective communication skills to constantly liaise with the team members to ensure all enumerators or team leaders are achieving both their qualitative and quantitative targets. 
    • This specialist should also have effective communication skills to interact with team members or customers, as well as provide training as needed to colleagues. 
    • Possess 3 to 5 years of experience in field team leadership and management in areas like data collection or sales. 
    • Anglo-phone speaker for Ghana
