    Workshop Manager

    Role Purpose:

    The Workshop Manager will lead a team of mechanics and technicians across multiple locations across the country including but not limited to: Nakuru (HQ), Sigona, Kisumu, Migori, Mombasa, Malindi and Nyeri, to ensure the regular maintenance and upkeep of a fleet of vehicles. This role involves overseeing daily operations, managing remote teams, and maintaining the fleet to the highest standards of safety, efficiency, compliance, and reliability.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead, manage, and provide guidance to mechanics and technicians in remote locations.
    • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure timely and consistent upkeep of the fleet.
    • Monitor and maintain vehicles to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
    • Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely availability of spare parts and materials.
    • Implement and enforce maintenance procedures to ensure consistent quality of work.
    • Provide technical support to mechanics and technicians for complex maintenance tasks.
    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and expenses.
    • Analyze vehicle performance data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
    • Review maintenance schedules for the day and allocate tasks to mechanics.
    • Review and approve maintenance-related expenses and purchase requests.
    • Review maintenance records and update the maintenance schedule for the upcoming week.
    • Review and update maintenance procedures based on industry best practices.
    • Develop the annual maintenance plan and budget in coordination with stakeholders.

    Requirements:

    • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field is required.
    • A minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet maintenance management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role overseeing remote teams.
    • Profound knowledge of vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and repair processes.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage remote teams effectively, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with remote teams, stakeholders, and suppliers.
    • Proficiency in analyzing maintenance data and generating actionable insights to optimize fleet performance.
    • Experience in developing and managing maintenance budgets.
    • In-depth knowledge of safety and regulatory standards related to fleet maintenance.

    Warehouse Manager

    Role Purpose:

    The Warehouse manager will oversee and manage all aspects of warehouse operations within Gilanis Distributors Limited. He/she will ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the warehouse, optimizing inventory management, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. He/ She will play a crucial role in managing resources, optimizing operational procedures, and driving continuous improvement initiatives and oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution and maintenance operations. 

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement efficient warehouse processes and procedures to ensure smooth operations.
    • Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock control and timely replenishment.
    • Coordinate receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
    • Optimize space utilization and layout within the warehouse for maximum efficiency.
    • Collaborate with procurement and planning teams to optimize stock levels and ensure timely availability of products.
    • Monitor inventory accuracy, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to minimize stockouts and overstock situations.
    • Analyze inventory data and generate reports to facilitate informed decision-making.
    • Train, and supervise warehouse staff, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
    • Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork, motivation, and open communication.
    • Set performance objectives, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide coaching and feedback to team members.
    • Plan and organize work schedules to meet operational requirements and manage labor costs effectively
    • Enforce adherence to quality control procedures and compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Implement safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all warehouse personnel.
    • Conduct regular audits to identify areas for improvement and take corrective actions as necessary.
    • Monitor and maintain compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
    • Continuously evaluate warehouse processes and identify opportunities for improvement in productivity, cost reduction, and customer satisfaction.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Warehouse Management.
    • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics principle
    • Proven track record in managing operational projects and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Familiarity with safety regulations and quality control standards.
    • Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management software.
    • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
    • Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives

    Transport Supervisor

    Role Purpose:

    Oversee day-to-day transportation operations. Supervise drivers, mechanics & marshals. Ensure compliance with regulations, and maintaining efficient logistics processes. Coordinate transportation activities, manage drivers, mechanics & marshals and maintain high levels of safety and customer satisfaction.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Supervise and coordinate transportation activities, including driver scheduling, route planning, and load management.
    • Monitor driver, mechanics & marshals’ performance, including adherence to schedules, compliance with regulations, and safety measures.
    • Ensure compliance with transportation laws, regulations, and company policies, including vehicle maintenance and driver certifications.
    • Conduct regular inspections of vehicles to ensure roadworthiness, cleanliness, and adherence to safety standards.
    • Coordinate with the lead schedule planner to ensure accurate and timely execution of transportation schedules.
    • Manage driver assignments and ensure efficient allocation of resources to meet transportation requirements.
    • Resolve any issues or conflicts related to transportation operations, such as delays, route deviations, or customer complaints.
    • Monitor and maintain accurate records of driver, mechanics & marshals’ activities, including hours of service, mileage, fuel consumption, and incident reports.
    • Implement and enforce safety protocols, including driver, mechanics & marshals training, vehicle inspections, and accident/incident prevention measures.
    • Collaborate with the Transport Manager to identify areas for process improvement, cost optimization, and enhanced customer service.

    Requirements:

    • Diploma in logistics or a related field (preferred). A degree will be an added advantage.
    • A minimum of 2 years of experience in transportation supervision, logistics coordination, or a similar role.
    • Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
    • Excellent leadership and supervisory skills to manage and motivate a team of drivers and transportation staff.
    • Proficiency in using transportation management systems, GPS tracking, and fleet management software.
    • Good problem-solving skills to address issues related to driver scheduling, route deviations, or customer complaints.
    • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
    • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and inspection procedures.
    • Ability to enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with transportation laws and regulations
