Job Role Description

Manage the delivery of information systems to deliver excellent service to our customers, by understanding business needs, selecting, configuring, implementing, and delivering business systems to meet business needs.

Functions/Key Expected Results

• Liaise with users to understand needs and system requirements.
• Ensure requirements are documented and secure approval from stakeholders
• Manage joint team of Circle Gas and supplier staff.
• Act as Scrum Master for Agile projects to coordinate the development of agile software teams.
• Arrange regular defined stand-ups for implementation teams, depending on project requirements.
• Lead Agile Project processes including Spring Planning, Backlog Grooming and retrospectives.
• Oversee system testing and bug management and resolution.
• Log and manage project risks and issues and raise to management in a timely fashion.
• Produce documentation and training to support the deployment and use of the product.
• Set-up and maintain project details in JIRA
• Maintain awareness of project management good practice and emerging technologies that will improve our customer experience.

Academic Qualifications

• Diploma in Information Technology or equivalent
• Qualifications in Project Management, particularly Agile
• AWS qualifications an advantage.

Competencies

• Enthusiastic, hands on, pragmatic approach with the determination to see ideas turned into reality quickly.
• Good knowledge of Agile development processes
• Ability to manage suppliers.
• Commercial astute
• Good communicator with the ability to communicate technology concepts to non-technologists

Previous Relevant Work Experience Required.

• Minimum 4 years of experience, ideally in a major international corporation.

Job Role Description

Ensure high-quality software delivery by planning, implementing, and automating quality assurance testing. Responsibilities include developing test plans, creating test cases, writing test automation code, and reporting results.

Functions/Key Responsibilities

• Lead a distributed team of Software Testers
• Plan and lead the testing (e.g., regression, functional, data validation, system integration, load, or performance tests) for new and existing functionality.
• Work with DevOps to establish and maintain test environments and test data.
• Work closely with development teams to design testing strategies and integrate testing into the development process.
• Plan, create, execute, and automate test cases, working with business partners, developers, and other stakeholders.
• Document and analyze test results and recommend corrective action.
• Isolate, reproduce, manage, and maintain defects and test case databases, and verify fixes.
• Support user acceptance testing conducted by business partners or end users.
• Identify opportunities to reduce testing time and effort by automating repeatable tests.
• Establish, enhance and maintain the test automation framework.
• Understand and apply automated testing approaches such as model-based testing or record-and-replay.
• Research, recommend, and implement new testing technologies and practices, such as automated code and vulnerability scanning.
• Define and champion quality and testing best practices among development teams.
• Review developers’ test plans to ensure comprehensive coverage.
• Promote quality software principles and culture across the software engineering organization.
• Mentor and coach junior-level Testers

Other

• The Quality Assurance Team Lead will lead a distributed team of colleagues and consultants in Kenya, Tanzania, China, UK, USA and elsewhere.
• CircleTech delivers a 24hour service to customers. The QA Team Lead may be required to work overnight and weekends to investigate urgent technical incidents.

Job Role Description

• The successful candidate will support the development, deployment, and operation of our software in AWS (Amazon Web Services) enabling frequent, secure, and reliable release of software to production.
• Assist our developers to deliver excellent software by providing the tools, environments, source control, and automated testing and deployment that they need.

Key Responsibilities

• Automate and run the build, test, and deployment of our software in AWS
• Build and maintain tools, solutions and microservices associated with deployment of our platform.
• Manage code deployments, fixes, updates, and related processes.
• Enable continuous development and integration (CI/CD) and support developers to use the CI/CD pipeline.
• Implement monitoring tools to detect issues, measure performance and provide telemetry for developers.
• Design and build infrastructure that delivers high uptime using High Availability designs and self-healing systems
• Develop operational dashboards and alarms.
• Monitor performance and capacity and introduce solutions to maintain service levels.
• Actively troubleshoot any issues that arise during testing and catch and solve issues before release
• Troubleshoot operational incidents
• Ensure security good practice is followed in deployment and operations.
• Assist in establishing DevOps practices

Other

• The DevOps engineer will be working as part of a distributed team with colleagues in Kenya, Tanzania, China, UK, USA and elsewhere.
• CircleTech delivers a 24hour service to customers. The DevOps Engineer may be required to work overnight and weekends to resolve urgent technical incidents or to make changes at a time that causes least disruption to customers.

Academic Qualifications

• Degree in Information Technology or equivalent
• AWS qualifications an advantage.

Competencies

• Excellent network design and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python
• Experience in CI/CD tools such as AWS Code deploy
• Some experience in one or more database systems including Dynamo DB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
• Experience of monitoring tools such as Graphana and Data Dog
• Good understanding of Information Security in web applications.
• Enthusiasm to continually improve skills and learn new technologies
• Fluent in English and Kiswahili

Previous Relevant Work Experience Required.

• 3 years' experience with AWS particularly EC2, VPC, Cloud Formation, CloudTrail and CloudWatch.
