    Commercial Manager

    Core Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Develop long-term business strategies and operating plans for the department which are in line with the longer-term goals and priorities.
    • Ensure the provision of timely and high-quality client services that meet or exceed their expectations.
    • Processing new customers’ accounts, and updating the customer’s register/ accounts.
    • Develop and implement systems for positive customer relations management.

    Senior Engineer Water and Sanitation

    REF: RJWS/SEWS/2022/09/02

    Core Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Ensure professional and economical operations and maintenance of water production, and storage systems in the company’s area of service to meet key performance indicators.
    • Oversee the operations and maintenance of wastewater plant and sewerage network and treatment systems to ensure the highest levels of performance and compliance with regulatory standards.
    • Ensure water reaching the consumers is of the required standard and effluent discharged into the river from the treatment works meets the required standard.
    • Carry out research on the latest technologies in the Water and wastewater industry.
    • Ensure all the assets and equipment in the section are safeguarded against loss and damage.
    • Liaise with WRUAs and other stakeholders in catchment conservation activities.
    • Assist the Technical Manager in the preparation of the departmental annual budget and work plans.
    • Ensure maintenance schedules for the treatment plants are conducted with minimal service interruptions.
    • Ensure timely and economic repairs of leakages or breakdowns in sewer systems, unblocking of the sewer system, and ensure manholes and trenches are covered.
    • Supervise construction of new plant structures and/or repairs thereof and provide the necessary engineering expertise.
    • Ensure review meetings and on-the-job training to motivate staff to perform in accordance with the standards of safety competence laid down by the company are undertaken.
    • Ensure staff appraisals are done in a bid to develop staff to ensure that they have appropriate skills for the work.
    • Perform any other duty from time to time.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

    • Degree in Civil Engineering, or Water Engineering.
    • Master’s degree in Engineering /MBA will be an added advantage.
    • Being a registered Engineer by the engineer’s Board of Kenya will be an added advantage.
    • years of work experience in the water sector, 3 of which MUST be at the supervisory or managerial level.
    • Demonstrate fluency in the use of design and drafting software -AutoCAD (Civil 3D).

    Senior Engineer Infrastructure

    Core Duties and Responsibilities:

    • In charge of planning, designing projects, and preparation of technical proposals for service extensions or rehabilitation of water and sewerage infrastructure.
    • Ensure that water and sewer connections are done in compliance with internal and external regulations and legislation to avoid conflicts.
    • Ensure economic use of available resources and tools, deal with logistics of the operations, and coordinate efforts of different units to achieve departmental objectives.
    • Assist the Technical Manager in the preparation of the departmental annual budget and work plans.
    • In charge of identifying potential areas for water and sewer services extensions.
    • Review of water system capacity and service evaluations associated with water service extension projects and other potential service growth opportunities.
    • Supervise, train, manage performance and motivate staff in the department to ensure improvement of professional skills.
    • Ensure timely and economic repairs of leakages or breakdowns in water supply and distribution systems.

    Procurement Manager

    Core Duties and Responsibilities

    • Preparing and implementing procurement strategies and annual procurement budgets that conform to the overall business strategy and accountability for its implementation. 
    • Preparing and coordinating the implementation of the Annual Procurement plan.
    • Recommend appointment of members to various procurement committees.
    • Review tender evaluation reports and provide signed professional opinion to the Managing Director.
    • Preparing all tenders and ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements on uploading tender information in the appropriate government portal.

    • Overseeing the interpretation and implementation of procurement laws, rules, and regulations including performing risk management for supply contracts and agreements and ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements. 
    • Implementing category management and sourcing management as part of the procurement function in order to unlock value through Procurement activities. 
    • Working in collaboration with user departments to track the performance of outsourced services providers and ensure that they are in conformance with agreed Service levels.
    • Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Supplies Management, any Procurement related field, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. 
    • Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines: – Supplies Management, any Procurement related field, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.
    • Diploma in CIPS or KISM or other relevant professional certifications.
    • Membership in the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) and have a valid supplies practitioner’s license.
    • 7 years’ experience in procurement in a similar environment, 4 of which must be in a management role. 
    • Knowledge of public procurement principles and processes, public financial management, and project management.
    • Demonstrated professional competence and managerial capability as reflected in work performance and results. 
    • Proficiency in computer applications; and

    Legal Officer

    Core Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Participate in the implementation of legal and governance policies, systems, and procedures, in line with the Company’s strategy.
    • Develop and lead corporate legal strategy to promote and protect the company's matters.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized institution of higher learning. 
    • A Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law or other recognized institution.
    • Be admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
    • 5 years’ post-admission experience as a Legal Officer or Advocate.
    • Membership to the Law Society of Kenya.
    • Good mediation and conflict resolution skills and a proven track record of excellent legal advice.
    • Possess good written and oral communication skills.

    Security Manager

    Core Duties and Responsibilities

    • Lead in the development and implementation of water-related fraud detection procedures.
    • Formulate appropriate security policies and procedures in accordance with thestandards, guidelines, and procedures.
    • Plan, budget, and coordinate the security section.
    • Oversee and manage all investigative activities and ensure that criminal proceedings for any cases of violation of the Water Act are instigated.
    • Lead all security and investigation activities to eliminate the possibility of illegal water consumption and related fraud against the company and develop/ implement ways to detect and control consumption fraud.
    • Train on anti-fraud management and general security investigations, detection, and prevention of fraud.
    • Continually review the total security situation of the Company and propose improvements in the procedures, facilities, and equipment so as to ensure the ongoing security of Company assets, staff, and visitors.
    • Develop the selection standards for the security contractor and advise on the company’s security requirements and qualifying conditions for the providers.
    • Continually review and update the outsourced security service contract, oversee the performance of the service provider and report to management as needed.
    • Review security reports submitted by the contractor, carry out the necessary investigations and prepare a report for management, including necessary follow-on action.
    • Carry out security and fire risk assessment audits and ensure that all facilities are adequately protected and in cases where risk areas are identified, propose, and implement solutions.
    • Oversee maintenance and update of fire equipment and security records.
    • Organize and oversee the implementation of firefighting training for staff, inconsultation with the fire engine department within the local authority.
    • Prepare and present security reports to the senior management team and Managing Directoras required.
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Criminology/Security studies/Disaster management or any area relevant to security.
    • 6 years’ experience in both physical and systems security.
    • Previous training in the disciplined forces.
    • Courses in fraud management, disaster preparedness, first aid, and security management will be a plus.
    • Possess good written and oral communication skills.
    • Proficiency in computer applications; and 
    • Must fulfill requirements of chapter six (of the Kenyan Constitution.
