    Pharmaceutical technologist

    Key Responsibilities

    • Receive prescriptions from Clinicians and dispense drugs to patients in a timely, safe, and accurate manner;
    • Ensure an outstanding client experience;
    • Ensure efficient pharmacy service flow by managing turn-around time;
    • Proactively address and follow up client concerns and provide timely feedback;
    • Ensuring correct entry of data into the system and registers provided;
    • Implementing quality assurance programs at the department;
    • Ensure the pharmacy is well stocked with the required pharmaceuticals and non-pharmaceutical and avoid overstocking i.e. stock management;
    • Lead, organize and plan performance of the pharmacy to provide efficient services at all times;
    • Ensure high standards of hygiene, order and cleanliness are maintained at the pharmacy at all times;
    • Organize and participate in departmental and interdepartmental meetings as required;
    • Ensure a smooth flow of information between the department and management;
    • Preparation and timely submission of expected regular reports to the facility and department supervisors;
    • Assist in the formulation, review, and implementation of relevant policies and procedures; 
    • Participate in clinical audits.

    Qualifications and Requirements

    • Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution.
    • At least three (3) years of relevant work experience in a busy pharmacy with experience in inventory control and management.
    • Must be registered and licensed by the Kenya Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
    • Valid Practicing License.
    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
    • Excellent clinical acumen.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Effective communication skills – listening, oral and written.
    • Good interpersonal skills and a team player.
    • Empathetic to patients of all ages.

    Senior Nurses

    Key Responsibilities

    • Ensure an outstanding client experience through effective triage, nursing care planning, implementation of nursing interventions, and monitoring and evaluation of patient outcomes;
    • Administer medication and perform medical procedures within prevailing nursing guidelines and protocols;
    • Direct patients to relevant clinics and services, facilitate patients’ admission and discharge process and coordinate referral plans;
    • Schedule patients and provide appropriate health care services in various clinics including ante-natal care, post-natal care, well baby and immunization, family planning and other Consultant and Specialist clinics;
    • Provide comprehensive health education and counselling on reproductive health, HIV, child care, Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI), vaccination, nutrition, health screening amongst other services with a view to promote the understanding of diseases, medications, and self-care skills;
    • Follow through investigations and procedures ordered by Doctors in outpatient and during ward rounds;
    • Maintain patient records by diligently completing all documentation on patient health condition and care, filing charts, x-ray films, laboratory results etc. while keeping information confidential;
    • Achieve financial objectives by utilizing available resources, using medical equipment correctly and promptly billing for services offered;
    • Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations;
    • Maintain a safe, tidy and clean working and clinical environment by following the stipulated 5s of a quality healthcare environment as well as nursing guidelines including preparing, installing and sterilising medical equipment;
    • Update inventories daily and ensure maintenance and availability of medical equipment in the hospital;
    • Professionally and timely prepare and present regular nursing reports;
    • Assist in the formulation, review and implementation of relevant policies and procedures e.g. infection prevention;
    • Adequately prepare and participate in health talks, presentations, Continuous Medical Education (CME) events etc.;
    • Participate in clinical audits;
    • The In-charge shall develop comprehensive nurses’ duty rosters to ensure 24hr coverage of the Hospital;
    • The In-charge shall work closely with their immediate supervisor to coordinate CME events, health talks, outreach activities & wellness activities.

    Qualifications and Requirements

    • Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution – Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse (KRCHN) or Kenya Registered Nurse (KRN). A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.
    • At least Four (4) years relevant and all-rounded work experience in Nursing (Outpatient, Maternity, Medical, Surgical, Paediatric, Theatre) in a busy hospital.
    • Must be registered by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
    • Valid Nursing Practice License.
    • Valid competency in BLS, ACLS, ETAT+ and Emoc will be an added advantage.
    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
    • Excellent clinical acumen.

    • Effective communication skills – listening, oral, and written.

    ICT Manager,

    Key Responsibilities

    • Oversee and manage the ICT function of the hospital by ensuring that all its services are well planned for in order to support timely and quality service delivery in the hospital.
    • Participate in and contribute to the overall strategic planning process for the hospital.
    • Define the hospital’ s digital strategy in order to drive innovation and ensure automation of patient facing and back office processes in line with the hospital’s strategy;
    • Demonstrate ownership of and communicate the ICT strategic direction and objectives to all staff to promote employee engagement and productivity;
    • Provide ICT advisory support to the senior management as the hospital’s ICT lead;
    • Develop actionable work plans to ensure effective implementation of the division’s strategic objectives;
    • Create a process for generating and developing creative ideas to optimize hospital operations and improve patient experience through technology;
    • Ensure management of the hospital’s IT infrastructure including planning, maintenance and sourcing in line with the Hospital’s needs;
    • Oversee administration of ICT applications across all hospital operations and ensure ease of access and use of the applications in order to enhance service delivery;
    • Put in place information security systems and measures to ensure the hospital’s ICT environment is secure in place in line with industry standards;
    • Lead implementation of all IT projects to ensure innovations meet the Hospital’s technology advancement appetite and value for money;
    • Put in place vendor management processes and all IT related obligations to ensure the Hospital’s needs are met;
    • Ensure efficient and effective user support and adequate support for the systems in place to all departments;
    • Put in place disaster management and business continuity processes and infrastructure to ensure business continuity for the hospital operations;
    • Determine required capabilities for continued relevance of the Hospital within the unfolding landscape and provide input into the learning and development plan for the Hospital;
    • Oversee and coordinate the day to day activities of the ICT division to ensure quality and efficient service delivery; Ensure implementation of all hospital approved quality management systems including ISO standards, Safecare among others to ensure full compliance of the ICT division to the guidelines;
    • Prepare the ICT annual budget and monitor its implementation upon approval to ensure cost containment and value for money;
    • Identify, deploy and motivate the ICT team including performance appraisal,
    • identification of training needs, mentorship and coaching as well as leave and absence management in line with the hospital’s people agenda;
    • Any other responsibilities that may be assigned to the job holder by the supervisor from time to time.

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or any other related field from a recognized institution.
    • Professional ICT qualifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), CCNA or other equivalent and recognized qualifications.
    • Must be a member of the Computer Society of Kenya.
    • Minimum of 6 years’ information technology experience including computer operations management, multiple roles in systems implementation, architecture, security/compliance, business-wide strategic planning responsibility with 3 years at management level.
